Freewheelers, Bootleggers Reunion, Bubo, etc.

They seem to sell very quickly. Mirrorball and Wolfpack are sold out in most sizes. They just got listed yesterday or so. -
You've probably seen the new FW 1945 second half jeans. It seems, that this model with light denim pocket bags, WWII denim, crotch rivet, no coin pocket rivets, no cinch, was produced from the second half of 1942 to the second half of 1945. Most likely there were different models produced in parallel, i.e. with HBT or flannel pockets. There were probably also different denims and cuts in use over the war time.

FWs has now issued their crotch rivet, no cinch, denim pocket bags model. They categorize it as Second Half of 1945. I think with the Spring 25 presentation there had been some teasers. Apparently this model was produced from the latter half of 1942 until the latter half of 1945. Pics from Wolfpack and Mirrorball.- 5040 replies

I think, after the first wash I folded them back. But after another wash they're fine. The 1933 (I think, it was also described as 1933-34) 506XX size 48 measures as follows: shoulder to shoulder- 55cm pit to pit- 65 cm shoulder to cuff- 61cm back length- 65cm The 1930s 506XX in size 40 (NW/rinsed only) measures: shoulder to shoulder- 48cm pit to pit- 56 cm shoulder to cuff- 63cm back length- 59cm -

Yes, 48. It works as a wide, comfy fit. The 40 is more a 42. Here is the 1933-34 jacket in size 48. Freewheelers Lot506XX 1933-34 • GroundAlls • Sugarcane 1947- 5040 replies

Thanks It works well with just a t-shirt. A more snuggish fit. I mentioned the year, because that style (they called it EARLY 1900s 1st Generation Denim Jacket 1930s MODEL) hasn't been issued much more after that, I think. It's got no tab, a black cinch. Probably more details. The denim is: Original 14oz Indigo Denim. But the weft is "with a slightly beige color". Not sure, if that is normal for the original denim. They tweaked it a few times, I think. I think, I got this one with the intention of wearing it unwashed. That's why I got it in 40 and not my then usual 42. For a more comfy fit for example I got the 1933 one in 48. The jeans should be in the WAYWT. I think, it's WH 1946 25th anni. -

I got one of their black freedom sleeve sweatshirts. Very nice, shorter (but not too short) boxy cut, sturdy fabric. Apparently they did a lot of research on the design. -

So, I've looked again into the different types of denim by WH for the years 30-50s. Besides the well known banner (7x7, ca. 13.5/13.75oz) and Memphis cotton denim (6x6, 14.5oz) there are at least three different other ones. 1. The new denim, WWII denim. I think, this was first introduced with the 25th anniversary pair S1001XX (1946) (perhaps earlier?). This denim is not DSB and has an orange selvedge. It's 6.7x6.6, ca. 14oz. And quite coarse. The relatively recent Duck Digger Lot S1003XX (1944 MODEL) (with the flannel pocket bags) is also of that denim. 1946 model: 1944 model: 2. Then there are two DSB. Both have a pink selvedge. I guess, the idea is, that same as the denim has changed by oxidation in the decades of the storage, the selvedge lines have also changed. Same with the tab, which is also pink in some pairs. The suffix (1000XX) seems to indicate DSB. For jackets (2000XX). a) the lighter one 7.5x7.5 ca. 13oz Used for example for the 1953 and 1954 pairs. Also for the Lot.2001XX(2000XX) blanket lined jacket and the 1936 model. b) the heavier one 6.7x6.6, ca. 14oz. The Lot S1003XX(1000XX)【1942MODEL】is made of this denim. 1942 model:

Comparing the DSB with the WWII denim. The jacket sleeve is from the Blanket lined Lot.2001XX(2000XX) which is the 7.5x7.5 pink selvedge DSB denim. The jeans are the 25th Anniversary S1001XX (1946) 6.7x6.6 orange selvedge WWII denim.

RRL, made in USA, 14.5 Cone denim Reversed yoke, also higher coin pocket and the side stitching is also longer

I've got that jacket in 48. Compared to when I got it, after wear and a cold wash chest and shoulders remained more or less the same, sleeves and back length shortened by 2 and 1.5cm respectively. A great jacket, a bit lighter denim, interesting little details.

How did you size the 45 jacket- 44?

I agree. I was wearing contacts for many years, but apparently overdid it. So the optician strongly recommended to me to wear glasses again, which I've been doing now for a year. And in winter I have to wear a watch cap or similarly and I'm always happy when I get inside and can take it off. It just feels better. Before I'd sometimes wear a hat or cap the whole day. -
Recently besides their 105 and 107 OrSlow had released a 101 Dad's fit jeans. Now there is also a 101 Grand Dads Fit. Apparently 12oz. There is also one by Full Count. In their super smooth 11.5oz denim.

Has there ever been a Warehouse type 1 or type 2 jacket made with the 1000XX memphis cotton (6x6, 14.5oz)?
-
I see. Thanks So in the US, not in Japan. I'd be also interested in a pair via proxy.

Looks good. What is the tomodachi tour?

Would be good to see them irl. With all these vintage sewing machines the guys probably know a lot. Their denim is a bit on the lower weight side with 12.5oz compared to the other offers. But it might be historically correct. But who knows, perhaps they don't want to offer a full on repro but more something with a temporary twist. The rise for the W34 is not really low with 31cm raw. So the crowded fly could be because it's a smaller size pair. It would be interesting to have some pics of worn in pairs.
