  1. @Double 0 Soul Can't remember when we were having the conversation about clothes racks, particularly jeans storage? Think it was just after @beautiful_FrEaK did a show and tell on his wooden jeans rack some time back. You (Neal) made a quip about my homemade effort being a couple of runner bean canes and some string 🤣 Anyhow, l could go on about how l actually would do a half decent job if l so wished to make one (l have some skills) but l am in fact quite a bit of a lazy bastard, so instead here is my effort for now. It took no time at all to make: Simply go to any UK store on its last day of business - l went to Wilkos and bought a clothes rail for 17 quid ( l got 2, one also for Mrs_Heech) and then over to M & Co for some free hangers (well they would have ended up in landfill knowing how contractors work). Made some adjustments to the rail to make it more bespoke by cutting the length of the legs. Might add a couple of jackets 🤔 but otherwise Job done 😁.
  2. Nothing to get excited about but am watching these Nos Levis 1501 0117 double lock-stitch redlines in a size 35 x 38 on greedbay. The reason l'm watching them, being l'm always trying to 'revaluate' my own pair, which are almost identical but made in 1978. The reason for sharing though is that I've always wondered when the switch between the wash tag stating 8% shrinkage and 10% shrinkage, and l can conclude that it seems from the 1981 model 501 onwards, the 10% label was the norm. Obviously there are anomalies etc but this is not in anyway conclusive as levis labels don't always match garments plus the newer, wider looms that Cone had in to replace the older ones were switched around the early 80s. So maybe that's significant? Fyi These were made at one of the 3 San Fran factories in June of 1980. Anyway enough ramblings. Some photos.. [Edit] Scrap that! Found a 1980 made one with 10% shrinkage label. So l'm guessing the change started (throughout all of the factories?) in 1980 and then implemented when the 1981 flasher was introduced.
  3. Thanks for that @beautiful_FrEaK Love a Levi's buckleback!
  4. People don't talk about him here because he's full of it 😂 Don't get me wrong, l love the 2 pairs of s409xxx that l own for the reasons explained in the Csf thread (and others) but l don't care for the brand or its creator. Obviously some of that has to do with the sh*t that he and his 'legal team' threw at Denimseeker over so called copyright infringement when DS put out his Levi's Denim jackets book a few years back. But there are other elements of csf that have more than just irked me since my introduction to them via the notorious Denim influencer, Double O Soul 😉 back in 2016. Firstly, Yoshiaki's bullsh*t video explaining the one piece sleeve 506XX being made in 1946 Only. It is not that at all, just a production quirk which appeared on the jackets throughout its entire production. Secondly, his 'pattern-making' is a mere allusion towards the cut of 501's made in the 1940s. All his models have the same flowerpot top-block, tight front pockets and small back ones. No pair of vintage 501XX that l ever owned or saw, had that weird pattern shape. Thirdly, his bullsh*t sizing. Most, if not all of the sizing information that was given by him to me previous to purchase was incorrect, yet l still purchased more, but bigger sizes. Started out with a 34, then 35, then 36 and now have 2x size 38's, one of which is bigger in the waist 🙃
  5. I rarely wear sunscreen unless l'm abroad 🤫 My son's band are playing Their first gig later at the Stroud Country show, so l'm gonna pop along to support. No mosh pit for me, waay too hot 😄 That's him on the right, he's lead vocals and guitar
  6. For me the shorts come out around 16 degrees onwards, especially working outside. 24 degrees is too hot too sit outside for long, even under a 'table parasole'. On days like today (33 degrees), l do everything l need to do before 10am, then sit inside with curtains/blinds closed, put the big fan on, watch some old movie and put my feet up. Today it's 'The Enforcer' Cider and Wimbledon later 😋
  7. Enjoying you trash out that war denim jacket @shredwin_206 - gives me fantasy thoughts about how well faded l could get mine if l put it through its paces. My warehouse 506 needs more wear but l can not think about wearing a denim jacket anytime soon so living vicariously through you atm. Keep up the fantastic work!
  8. Me this year and every year since April 2019. Don't start wearing again until September. Whether it's climate change or middle age, this planet is warming up.
  9. Early eighties black flag 501's
  10. Switch from one to another on alternate days, then hand in the best looking pair at the end of the contest.
  11. Shows up the denim at its best. Something for me to aim for when l finally get round to wearing my FW war denim tux !
  12. Superb @cultpop 0217 Love that STP. Definitely one for the t-shirt-shirt thread.
  13. Sorry, no idea from me unfortunately. Apart from the vintage Lee pieces l've owned, only one was modernish, early 2000's l'm guessing, made in Tunisia Lee 101J which fits me like a glove.
  14. Anything with a hang loop screams 1980's onwards with Lee. The label is based on a vintage design but that's it unfortunately. 1990's is my guess.
  15. Random comparison of the so called 1st ever Levi's leather label from the repro lvc jacket (and vest) from 2000/2001 and the last version of this label, from a couple of years ago(?) The latter version is correct for 1873, as the earlier label states renewal in 1875, so can't be from 1873. Plus the thicker felt tip pen marking the size on the earlier pieces looks a little goofy whereas the newer label looks more authentic imo
  16. Yep, although l never wore all three pieces, especially at the same time. I had several pairs of the 1873 duck pants over the years, think I wore two pairs (a 34 and a 36) and sold the rest. I sold the coat to red Chris, where he added some buttons then promptly sold it. Only kept the vest.
  17. Forgot about this one, languishing in the back of the coat cupboard. (Vintage) Levis Vintage Clothing 1873 Duck vest, which together with the duck hunters jacket and pants, we're some of the best pieces made by Lvc around 1999-2001. This one has had a soak and been taken in a little at the back either side of the centre seam as it was a bit baggy for my tastes and it was first worn back in the summer of 2018, when l built my own shed. Those bottom pockets were ideal for holding screws etc as l've never been a big fan of tool belts, but this was great over a vest-top worn with shorts. Think there's a pic buried deep in the Waywt thread somewhere. Not worn it since but you never know it may come in handy once more in the future. Have no idea how that lightened area came about, but it happened in storage back in the early 2000's. Pics have been randomly Sufu'd for no apparent reason again so apologies for that
  18. To all. Jealous of you who can wear denim during these temps, especially here in the UK. I have hardly worn any denim since May and will probably hardly wear any until September/October time when the daytime temps become more bearable. This has become a growing trend with me, just living in vest tops or t-shirts and shorts (none of it denim 😁) when the warmer months come and donning jeans more October until April time. I don't think it's climate change, rather something that's just occurred since entering my 50's(?). So with this new parameter coupled with my worsening feet problems means my denim takes a lot longer to fade 😢 Luckily l probably have enough worn-in jeans to last a very long time. So more so living vicariously through you lot these days. Keep up the good work everyone!

Sorry to be posting more of the same, but here's some more shots taken indoors which show the denim colour and texture a bit better. Will have to get some nice shots using a proper camera one day. Like l said before, Love these. The 506XX jacket has got hardly any wear when compared to the jeans but does share some of the nice puckering... First post with pics that haven't been Sufu'd. I'm having a beer!
  20. Exactly. We go from Nine ounce in For over 60 (c.1932) years and then Ten Ounce in the For over 70 years (both types, c.1942) and the For over 80 years tickets(c.1952). Yet in the For over 85 years ticket, Levi's just put in made from 'Top weight denim', no actual weights were specified.
  21. 1945 pocket flasher with For over 85 years ticket, so a circa 1957 501XX model. Courtesy of Fake Alpha.. Tried to zoom in a little
