  1. Thanks @Broark @indigoeagle @Denimstoyevsky - thanks for the input.

I should have stated NO grey, heather, blue or oatmeal. I currently own 3 Cushman sweats - one navy, one teal and one in red, so preferably looking for other colours; seen a couple at Soas - one burgundy and one light green - but l ain't paying £169 a pop for them.

    Oh well, next time then...

Can you remember the bridge size Doc? B&L used to offer Wayfarers in both 22 and 24mm bridge to fit more noses.. i think it was stamped on the frame.. maybe yours were the 24s?

I have the same issue.. my dad's side of the family all had an olive complexion.. sadly i didn't inherit this family trait but i did inherit the slight oily skin which doesn't help with the frame slippage.. maybe we need those 1940s era wire frame spectacles which curl around the ear?

No, unfortunately l was around 22/23 and didn't pay attention to such things at the time.

Anyway, l get free safety sunnies from work and they stay on my face even when looking downwards so no worries from now on. They're not vintage tho...

  3. Hi denim peeps. Warehouse sweatshirts, single V or no V at all, is my preference (but not raglan sleeves) Size large. I'm not sure what colours are currently available but would be interested to know where the easiest and cheapest (so not Soas) place to order from, preferably a site that's not too difficult to negotiate for a non-tekky person like myself :)

    Cheers!

  4. Should've kept my pairs now l guess, although actually no, l remember how the bloody things used to constantly slip down my nose a bit so always pushing them back up. I'll stick with what l have.

Bumping these bad boys. A hundred quid for a pair of late 1920's Warehouse repros, l must be mad.

    CSF S406XXX

Faithful replica of the S506XX made during WW2, manufacturered in the summer of 2016 by the Conners Sewing factory. This jacket is an earler rendition of the s506xx repros made by CSF - The 'One Rock' tab and inside stamp ( jacket '#101' ) are evidence of this. Other unique features are the one piece sleeves and a T-back construction, which are rarer on original s506xx than the usual two piece grafted sleeves and single panel backs.

The jacket has been gently worn and loved but has a whole lifetime still ahead of it. But it's not getting much love from me, so maybe it's time to pass it on? Beautiful denim only just starting to crock in some places.

    Approx measuements are:

Pit to pit (pleats not extended) = 22"/56cm

    Shoulder to shoulder = 20"/51cm

    Shoulder to cuff = 24 3/4"/63cm

Collar seam to base = 24"/61cm

Still a bit of shrinkage left maybe as it's only had a few hot soaks and 2 machine washes with 1 proper spin (?)

Price was £280 but now down to £250 plus postage/shipping to wherever you live.

    Thanks for looking!

I’ve been trapped doing nothing but working, mainly finishing drywall for the last 8 months…No mining what so ever, we have started putting the Levi book together, it’s only been 12 years since we said we would finish it.

Better get that book finished first before you go back down any mines mate, just in case anything happens to ya ;)

  8. ^the Hair Bear bunch, great show! Hannah/Barbera? Anyway my thickly-veiled compliments are obviously just terms of endearment.

And you had some big hair in that shot - l remember being quite envious at the time. And that's before the denim tux steez swings into the equation.

Thanks Doc … I guess I wouldn’t be too bothered if I didn’t sell anything and by the same token I’d be equally nonplussed if I sold more than I expect

Thank you … unfortunately it’s all Size 17 though

I would love a 'new' shirt or two.

I'm a size 17" collar, about 23" pit to pit (could get away with 22.5") and about 18.5" shoulders. Arms roughly 25".

Let me know if you have anything when you've decided and we'll go from there :)

  10. Berberjin's Instagram has been on fire all this week (it's their 25th anniversary) , showcasing some of the most impressive collection of denim pieces for upcoming sale that l've ever seen, and one particular item l haven't (as yet) until now.

At first glance it looks like the 1931 Lee Cowboy jacket, the one with the white neck tag and the buckleback. This jacket has the white neck tag, with the 101-J clearly stamped on it, but if you turn it around it has no buckle/strap. Not only does it not have a buckle/strap, there doesn't seem to be any evidence of any rivets ever holding one in place. On further inspection it has the wartime 'ufo' style rivets which leads me to believe this has to be a rare transitional model, which must've been made around 1942.

    :D that is awesome

Thanks mate, yeah l think so. Many more obvious and celebrated (and rare) mistakes were made during wartime 501 production but these are relatively modern in comparison.

You wait tho, one day lvc will probably repro these in a limited run and for a high ticket price.

Fuck sake - don’t you start as well Doc! Do you mean Anhui, Cantonese, Fujian, Hunan, Jiangsu, Shandong, Szechuan or Zhejiang?

I dunno Duke, just got a chicken fried rice, chips and a barbecue sauce and a can of Lilt, l mean a can of fanta pineapple and grapefruit :D
