TCB

On 7/8/2023 at 11:07 AM, Uncle Karl said:Hi everyone! My jacket was returned home with disappointing results. Some frayed parts were reinforced, but the essential "sleeves" and "elbows" were not repaired. If you use a patch cloth to repair the elbow, it will be thicker, so it seems that you can't do it with the sewing machine at tcb.
That’s disappointing! Can you find another way to repair the jacket?

There’s a small questions thread, I assume for this case.
for what it’s worth the buttons run through the fly in most of my jeans sooner or later but I don’t think it’s related to washing because I never button them before the wash.

Does anyone know where the Closed Front Jumper is being sold?
Saw on IG that Hoosier has it.

@shredwin_206 I see the pink spray paint washed off? They look really nice.

That’s really cool. What are sleeve garters for?

@smoothsailor those full count look really nice. Are they actually wide or did you have to size up?
indigo invitational is a yearly fading competition, not an actual event, if I remember correctly.
@cultpop 0217 if it is indeed a one year competition I personally wouldn’t bother. I see no point in going out of my was to destroy a pair of jeans in just one year of wear. Also unlike brand competitions that happen here from time to time I think it’s more about the how much you destroy and abuse your jeans etc etc, so if it’s the prizes you are after (which is justified, they are pretty sweet) most people really need to go out of their way to even have a chance. It’s just what I think though, and my opinion really doesn’t mean anything. You do you (:

@Broark @beautiful_FrEaK brother bridge reproduce GATs. Maybe worth looking into? I enjoy their boots a lot. Have no idea how the sneakers are.

I really like the look of them! I just don't think they would look good in my wardrobe and jeans all the time
Thanks! The fabric is really impressive in person. Kind of hard to capture with my phone camera. I totally understand what you mean. I wear them with jeans most of the time but because of the colors I think they only work with very specific shirt colors.

Is there a difference between the whitesville 2 pack and the whitesville toyo enterprise branded 2 pack?
I’m not really sure what you mean. I got mine from hinoya if that helps. If you’re not sure share a link of both.
@mlwdp I’ve only used buyee from the options you gave. I’d recommend Fromjapan as well, but it’s mainly for the whole VAT issue.

Looked but never tried, what's the length and neck opening like?
I like a close fitting neck and a length that doesn't just skim my belt...
They tick both boxes but I guess this varies depending on body type.
@ColonelAngus yes I agree. This might stem from the fact that I don’t really do a lot of manual labor other than the odd job around the house and some gardening. My job is kinda outdoorsy but not to the point that I need actual workwear and so this whole thing here is mainly about style for me. I don’t baby my clothes in any way but it really comes down to how things age beautifully (again, not speaking about durability), and it just doesn’t happen with for me with non Japanese brands. I’ve had several jeans and jackets from American or European brands but it just never hits the spot.

@Geeman whitesville?
@Cold Summer it’s not even the durability thing. I knowingly accept that all things fall apart with time. It’s mainly the how beautifully it falls apart, and the quality of the fabrics.

Anybody else here experiences the “if it’s not Japanese than I’m not buying it” syndrome? Even if I know the quality is there, even if I know the western body design will fit my body better, it still doesn’t matter and I keep thinking “if it was Japanese it was probably better”. I know I’m obviously wrong, it’s just a voice in my head that keep popping.

I’ve had quality issues with Merz as well, for what it’s worth.
to the issue at hand (hehe) - are you asking for narrower arm holed t shirts or something like a ribbed arm hole(like Merz do on their Henleys)?

@beautiful_FrEaK thank you! They fit great

@Broark nice! The overalls look really cool. Also really liking the eggplant color trousers. And the t shirts. Please share a fit pic of the trousers when you get the time.
