So I'm guessing you went with large?

Kind of funny, but after combing this thread for sizing references, I still don't really know how I should size as a 6'1" skinny dude.

I'm 6' and a medium is good, although there are elements of the large that work really well, so it's taking me a while to decide which one I want to keep. If you were 6'2" I would definitely suggest a large, due to the added inch of length. I'd probably say the same for 6'1". The pant looks fucking amazing when rolled as well.

[ FYI, my recommendation of a large has nothing to do with the fact that I'm selling one ]

P30A-DS, large, full pack, condition 9/10.

Selling for £850 plus fees and shipping. UK buyers get shipping on the house.

    Clarified, bumped.

And to stave off thoughts that people are selling the P30A because it's shite... it's fantastic, one of my favourites, and I'm only selling as I own two pairs.

P30A-DS, large, full pack, condition 9/10.

Selling for UK retail plus fees and shipping. UK buyers get shipping on the house.

FYI, I have both a medium and large, and am still deciding which one to go for. But please feel free to reach out if you're interested, as I'll be making a decision in the next 48hrs.

The p32 in question is not wide, and in my experience has a very fitted waist...

My bad, it's been a long day - I thought you were talking about the P30.

How come? The measurements look spot on in a medium so curious why you think so. The waist would be too big by nearly 2" in the Large and the outseam nearly 2" longer than I tend to need as well.

Per many previous posts in this thread, you should ignore the waist measurement for wide- and ultra wide trousers.

That aside, I'm basing my statement on the fact that I'm 6' and wear a medium. As you're 6'2", and the outseam of the large is 1" longer vis-a-vis the medium, a large sounds like a better fit.

In the end it's all down to personal preference. I quite often roll the hem of mine, as I like the look, so you could argue that I could go with a shorter outseam as well.

Thanks guys. So I'm not off base to be thinking of a Medium if I have a 35" waist with a 30" inseam? 6'2", 215-220ish. The rest of the measurements look good in terms of half hem, outseam, etc.

Not off base no, but I would actually suggest a large.

Ordered the P30DS in size M. Was told its about the length of the pants that matter for these and not the waist as I am normally a size 29/30 which I normally go size small. I'm also 6 feet tall.

If anyone can confirm that would be great.

I'm 6' on the dot, and the medium is a good fit. I wear them fairly high though, and sometimes roll the hem twice for a shorter look.

And you're right in sizing the wide waists by length.

Smh... The fading and patina are half the allure. Worn in stotz looks way better in general even if you don’t take it to the point of heavy wear where it’s true character shines.

Couldn't agree more. Stotz is incredible.

I missed the P31 restock, ugh. Really need these in XL. If I'm 38 waist, does anyone know how much the cinch is on these? Like could I get away with an L? M? Not sure how many 'extra' inches there are.

You'll probably be fine with a M,  but size based on your height.

But yeah, to @piece keeper's point, the measurements are on the site.

I always thought one flak pocket is more useful than 3, but I guess it works for some people. I have P23 pants and I only use 3 of the 7-8 pockets it has.

I thought so too at first, but just find them incredibly functional. Certain pockets for certain things. I'm especially fond of the mezzanines, with the larger one used for phones, passports, notebooks, and the smaller one being the perfect fit for a cardholder wallet.

Personally, I find that it's a stark contrast with the P23A, where I pretty much only use the phone pocket. I find the placement of the side pockets very clumsy (or rather, form over function), and the zips make them even more difficult to use.

Last but not least, the hitch tabs on the J28 are really useful, given the width of the sleeves. Much more so than the other pieces I own, where I struggle to roll the sleeves up over my forearms.

The only drawback is the hood, imho. It's baggy, and makes the collar quite bulky. The folding "mechanism" means that you often end up with two air intakes on the side.

But, it's definitely my favourite waterproof jacket from Acronym. Much more so than the J1A or J47A. I'm personally not a huge fan of the chest pocket layout on either of these (I know, I know, lynch me).

Sold my trusty J15-GT shell and now I'm without a waterproof jacket...looking to buy one new or used. If you could pick one shell to have, which would it be?

I think my favourite will always be the J28-GT, esp. in terms of the functionality of the chest pockets.

  12. Thanks for the tips @AvantSol, @aru, and @Kamikaze. I'll have a play this evening, although it's worth saying that the fiddling I did beforehand was surprisingly effective. To echo @Dolphinski's comments, the trousers are incredibly light - they certainly don't feel like 700g - and the waistband suprisingly effective at keeping them in place. The fabric feels much thinner and lighter than other DS I've owned, and it really feels weightless and naked. I'm still trying to figure out how to minimise the trousers tent and nappy effect, but so far I'm really feeling this as the perfect summer pant.

@Dolphinski, is there any chance you could share a fit comparison of the P30-CH and P30A-DS? I'd be very interested to see the difference in shape and drape. I'm wearing my P17-CH again today, and just reminded of how incredible the fabric and block is.

  13. Thanks @jellyq. Have been doing this, with mild success. And I don’t feel like I’m really getting it as tight as I want to.

I have to admit it’s a ballache compared to the tried and trusted cinch & belt mechanism!

  14. Does anyone have any tips for tightening the waistband on the P30A-DS? I'm finding it near impossible.

[ I recall seeing a brief discussion on the topic a while ago, but can't find it ]

Can someone comment on J1A-GT 2.2 sizing vs J47A-GT sizing?

Basically my J47A fits nicely around the chest and tummy but the sleeves are a couple of cm too short cause of my broad shoulders. Also, I find the hood to be quite tight.

I'm currently wearing a size M J47A, would a size L J1A-GT give me a bit more sleeve length and hood size?

I believe the J1 is roomier around the chest than the J47A. I’m basing this on my short ownership of the J47A-WS — I haven’t tried on the GT variant yet, but expect it won’t be too far off.

Per @jeddyhsu, you’ll get the extra sleeve length with a size up. And the hood on the new J1A is cavernous.

I also received the j68-ws earlier this week. Sharing my impressions:

The closing options and convertible collar make this one almost feel like two Jackets in one.
I like the storm flaps / collar up and top button closed look the most.
I also love the asymmetric details when it is flat / fully closed .
The shorter cut might not be for everyone, I think it looks "different" in a good way.
The jacket also works with a lot of types of pants imo, I can wear it with almost every pant I own.
I was sceptic about the dangling zips at first but after three short wears I have had no issues.
Unfortuneatly the main zip does not feel smooth to me. The same zipper was used on the j62-pb and it always felt "off" to me, but I got used to it.

    Sizing:
I chose to stick to the usual size M (181cm / 80 kg) and it fits perfectly with a t-shirt or sweater underneath. I can also layer a liner underneath (Mionn IS) but I dont feel like I should. It is definetly smaller than my other size M acr jackets, but I am not sure if I could get away with a size L and just a t-shirt underneath. I would not recommend sizing up.
Generally I tend to pick my size exclusively by the half chest measurement on the mother site and it never failed me.

Good summary, couldn't agree more - especially regarding the sizing. I'm usually an L and regret not sticking to it, although the profile fit means that the XL is still great. And it's one of my favourite pieces.

Anyone keen on picking up a J36-S-BICOLOR in BLACK/RAF, size L, before I send it back to the mothership?

They sent me a J33-E spec with it, although I'm sure I can get the correct spec sent across if anyone wants.

    Will ship back on Monday.

    UK retail (£1,519) + fees + shipping.
