Would be grateful if anyone could tell me where those fit pics are.

Struggling with the pants size as well. thanks in advance.

On this thread, about 6 months back I think.

No, only the P17 and P23 have massive waists that have to be cinched. (And maybe the -15s? I can't remember, I don't have those.) P24 is a high waist pattern, and they come up a bit large. P9s are more of a low waist cut, and come up a bit smaller. P13s (or maybe P14s - not the motocross ones) come up very small.

    +P22

Great guidance on the rest, have always wondered about the P9s!

Brilliant, thanks guys! Wasn't prepared for them to be this huge. Cinched them and it all seems to work a lot better.

Should I expect similar waist oversize from all acronym pants? Am intrigued by the P23-S, usually wearing 34" should I go for size medium?

    Don't mention it :)

P15, P17, P22 and P23 all have the same waist... I'm not certain, as I haven't owned them, but I think P25 and P27 do too.

I'm usually a 34 or 36, depending on the brand, and wear a M in P17, P22 and P23. It all depends on your preference, really - the guideline is usually to go with the length that works for you.

Btw, someone posted a really helpful fit pic comparison between S, M and L of the same block a while ago. I'm not sure when, you'll have to do some digging, but will be very helpful.

P.S. It's worth mentioning that the fit will vary *slightly* depending on the fabric. I find that the Stotz is a little tighter than the DS/CH of the same model.

  4. Yeah, that looks great. The guidance posted on Acronym's website says that the L is made for a 34" waist, but, it's massively oversized, and designed to be cinched, as @thatslapz explained.

Enjoy them, the P17's are ridiculously good!

how well does the 3a-1 Laminate perform in rainy weather? I have the L1 version and was wondering if a light shower would mess it up

I have a 3A-1 in L2 from 15/16, and so far it's held up beautifully against light-medium rains, with no visible damage.

I also have a 5TS in L1 from 13/14 with a couple of years' wear on it, and the material is starting to age rapidly, so I'd expect these to have a little less resistance. I might be wrong though.

  6. It's usually pretty easy to spot the fakes. Look for:

    • the sizing of the lettering on the label (the font used in fakes is sometimes off, and the letters a little bold when compared to the real thing)
    • colouring of the exterior Gore-Tex
    • colouring of the inner membrane
    • zipper pulls (look at the difference between the product shots and the jacket in this ad, as an example)

In short, if it looks cheap, and is priced cheap, it probably is cheap.

Also, it's worth taking a look at this forum. Not updated that often, but valuable, as the members that contribute to the thread know their stuff (shout out to @xumatrix and @danii!)

  7. So, any "long" term reviews of the J65-KM? @HeckHouse, you posted some great shots a while ago. How has your opinion of this one shaped over time?

I'm particularly interested in how the fabric evolves over time. The quality looks very different in the fits vis-à-vis the product shots, which is to be expected, I guess. But wondering whether it gets better or worse with age.

Also, would you recommend sizing up, or going with your usual size?

    This.

You have to remember, that logo goes waaaay back—like, early 2000s, at the latest. Could be older. Back in those days, non-sensical futuristic computer-generated graphics were very common.

    This sort of thing:

I do but leaks are not physical samples of the final product. (while movie trailers are exactly the same thing as final movie just smaller)

Those fuckers who leaked have killed subnet for us, pardon me that I do not want to support this behavior.

Very valid point, and I appreciate your integrity. If they wanted the general public to have a taste, they'd post previews in a public space.

I think it's worth stating that, given the speed with which the items sell out, the leaks have become integral to the purchasing decision (although that's probably overstating the importance). I think many have relied on this as the only way to make an informed decision on what they actually want to purchase. But, this point is slightly devalued now that items tend to sit in store for longer.

Can I ask, if you don't support leaks, why comment on what you've seen? Surely this just fuels the behaviour?
