  1. Past hour
  2. I’ll keep an eye on this as I’m going to be out near Edinburgh for a week or so in late June. Visiting family but still might be able to steal off to see a site or three. For me, bonus if it’s friendly for a three year old.
  3. Today
  4. Nope. It's really better to wear them without a belt. Since the hips and thighs are wider you have more crotch room which is good for the lower rise. Anyhow, you either like lower rise jeans and like to wear them or you don't 😅
  5. Thanks @beautiful_FrEaK And you don't find them overly restricting?
  6. That would be me. I have similar stats and wear a W34
  7. I’m going to be in Scotland (Edinburgh - 4 days, Oban - 2 days, Glasgow - driving through from Oban back to Edinburgh) 5/31 - 6/7 and wondering if anyone has recommendations on things to check out that are off the beaten path: castles, gardens, breweries, distilleries, yarn shops… any and all ideas would be greatly appreciated!
  8. I like the look of the 711. The waist at 34 looks right but I'm scared by the low back rise. Has anyone on the bigger side (I'm 87kg 182cm with fairly big legs) made them work without sizing up so as to need a belt?
  9. Here’s the reference bag … which does not use CF Stead Repello nor is it hand made https://www.printemps.com/uk/en/jerome-dreyfuss-leon-m-leather-tote-bag-brown-women-7940848?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwgdayBhBQEiwAXhMxtucbjs_OYUh4kzfIGz66uYddb4ds7n0KZXLqWSpXhHxQJtnRsDvaohoCEGQQAvD_BwE#5083802

  11. Exactly so - if the top block of a pair of 22s is bigger than a pair of 51s, I’m not going to size down looking to transform them into the same ‘fit’. Everyone has their own approach but I am truly baffled by the endless queries around how 5mm makes a difference 🤷‍♂️
  12. That makes sense. So is that why you mention you take the same size in all FW - even if the waist is oversized - to stay as true as possible how that cut/pattern was intended?
  13. The xx4 denim in my 01’s is soft, but not more than FC’s. It also has formed creases quite well and held them - actually more than almost anything I’ve worn in recent years. Not that I’m usually wearing stuff known for that. I’m probably just at about 2-3 months of total wear on them and only ever did the initial hot soak and hand wash with a good bit of hand agitation. We’ll see what the second wash does, we’re not there yet.

  16. Interesting, mine still seem to have a bit of starch to them. But the denim is very soft no question.
  17. Like I always wash my jeans: an initial soak to make them more pliable and put them directly in the washing machine. 30 °C with low spin. A little bit of detergent.
  18. @beautiful_FrEaK how did you wash your pair? And how many washes so far? I've only done the initial wash via OA's suggested process (warm bath soak, cold gentle wash) and I'm finding the denim to be a little rigid still after a couple of months. Also, it looks like OA will be releasing the vest that they had for sale two Inspirations ago, this time in a 10 oz. denim inspired by Amoskeag Mills (produced by Collect). I think a few people here might have the Cone version, @CSL and anyone else? Interested in your thoughts on it after some time as well as any pictures if it's showing wear. Never been a vest guy, but seeing them wear it it looks pretty cool and functional.
  19. That XX4 denim is a real contender in terms of softest denim I own. Even softer than FC's 13.7oz denim I have to say. Creases set hardly.
  20. Those M1951 Field Jacket and S-8 are looking really good!
  21. +1 for MI. MN is my preferred cold weather state though
  22. I spent five years in NC and I’m never living south again if I can help it. Even DC is further than I’d go haha. (But, better!) I know some people love it. We get 4 real seasons here and it’s one of my favorite things in life. Housing, coming from Austin, would probably seem pretty reasonable too! Winters do get some people down - the sun can go away for a good while. You’ve got to get outside. For me, I like that. Lots of chances to wear all those great jackets.
  23. Between the weight fluctuations and remote working, I've only worn one pair the last few years, the Denime Type 66, McCoy's Era. I haven't made an inventory in a long time, and I'm surprised at some of the pairs I've gotten rid of, like 45rpm, Kapital, Eternal etc. and the ones I've kept. Looks like I went Samurai crazy earlier in my collecting phase, which I'm retired from. 25. @AlientoyWorkmachine another user on here that I chat with a lot has been talking up Michigan, seems like a nice spot. Winters would be a big change but honestly with how brutal the last few summers have been down here it sounds like a nice change of pace. Also have some family moving back to the DC area soon so that's another option. I just want anywhere with four actual, distinguishable seasons!
  26. Oh man that’s a haul and I really feel for the lack of wearable days you’ve got. Michigan would suit you well and then you can even get all the FW Great Lakes gear with the utmost appropriateness. These last few years a lined denim jacket can get you through even a lot of winter days, though that won’t be true in the northern parts.
