That's some great stuff right there @reubensangwich - they are definitely a pair of '1937' 501XX but have had the cinch strap completely removed as well as the rivets (a little dark hole being the tell tell sign). Also that first shot, amazing shape of the arcuate where it hits (almost) the bottom of the vertical side of the back pocket. Also, that pair in the middle with the match strikes, they are 1937 model also.

We all have our weird tradeoffs. I had a sinus injury when I was young, so I’m not sure I can taste/smell as well as the average person, but the romance over gas is something I truly cannot comprehend. Induction is faster, more precise, cleaner (air and surface). My brother who is an intrepid cook who does understand the difference in more subtle ways changed about two years ago, motivated at least in part by having a young child with asthma - and wonders why he was hesitant. For our part, we’re just slowly trying to electrify our home over time as we can afford, and this was just one step in that.

Their madras shirts are looking nice as well. Trying to get one

I know it’s probably doing irreparable damage to my system breathing in all the unburned natural gas, but I wouldn’t trade our ‘50s Wedgewood for anything

New (used) bag from Django Atour—big enough that my laptop case doesn’t stick out the top even a little bit! + Tender shades / Tezo tee / Hollows belt / Roy trousers / Russell moc’s

Heresy perhaps but what my jeans are doing is honestly cooking with magnets for the last few years. We replaced our gas range with an induction and I’ve not missed it for a second. No room here for waxing nostalgic about much! Our outside grill is gas, but gets little use!

A couple shots by Marion Post Wolcott. If you zoom in you can read the lot and size numbers. Match strikes on the right hamstring. Patch removed, cinch as well, or possibly an S501 with watch pocket rivets.

no key ring for me. would have liked that! maybe I'll ask for one with my black pair...

Only the jeans are part of the contest and judging. It's testing my memory but iirc this came with my jeans as they took longer to arrive and I started the contest a few weeks later (which is unimportant as it won't matter in the long run). It's fading in my pocket nicely so I thought to share with the crew. There may be others in circulation, I don't know.

Assuming everyone got a keychain?? If so, hope they’re submitted alongside the jeans when judging comes around.

I prefer to taste the meat, not the heat

MASH M35 denim dungarees about eight years old now. These are reproductions of the dungarees worn by Civilian Conservation Corp workers and US Army enlisted soldier from the 1930's through the 40's. They started out as raw denim but are gradually fading nicely.

Cool. I climbed Mt Agung back in 1996. Also climbed Rinjani (on Lombok). Never used porters, carried all the kit myself.

I’m a firm believer in agitation’s role in the shrinking process. -

Oh of course - I do that. They didn’t just stay there the whole time like this. They were just in here like while I did shit around the house - come back, agitate, fold them differently (small tub) and then they go in the wash afterwards. -

I even look down upon charcoal BBQ's which are not made from cast iron.. Cast iron is amazing for searing steak.. it gets mad hot so even when the heat from your charcoal is ebbing away, the heat retained by the iron grill is enough to cook with.. i fill my BBQ with an oak / charcoal combo.. chuck some 99.9% isopropyl on.. stand well back to retain eyebrows, light it and leave it to burn down.. by this time the entire cast iron BBQ is almost glowing .. sear the steaks with tongues, especially the fat, wrap them in foil to rest for 5mins while the cast iron cools down a little.. then slap them back on for cooking.

I like them uncuffed as are. Looks nonchalant
