    Update about the Kotoka derby shoes to whoever cares - after some correspondence with them via fromjapan, the insole length of size 28 is 29 cm, width is about 10 cm. Alas, they are cemented and not welted or blake stitched, which I think is a no go for me. Bummer.

    I find the Ashinary derbys quite balanced. I like the look and the aging. However, I tried contacting them via emails but no reply so far. Can’t place an order to outside of Japan it would seem. I’d also like to be more sure about the size, since 10 is at risk to be too small for me, but I’ll settle for any other reply from them as well. That sock thing is weird! I didn’t give much attention to the Ichimaigawa model so I missed it

    That’s awesome, do share it if you feel like. thank you. She is mostly breastfed, so I do get a decent 5 hour sleep usually, not taking extreme nights into account.

    @Cold Summer I’ve only been in this “scene” for about a decade, but from what I read it’s seems like the Japanese have been doing the wwii reproduction and Americana reproductions for more than 4 decades now. While progress might happen, I still think the usual suspects of the repro world are going to be iterated to eternity (at least, relative to a persons lifetime) for the sake of tradition.

    There are quite a few. Tcb has them on their 20s jeans and other offerings. Belafonte has them on quite a few options, I think if you’ll be a bit more specific about the cut I can be a bit more helpful. trying to avoid double comments here so: @Cold Summer is Barbour an option for you? It’s green, but totally a different style to the ones you mentioned (there are also Japanese Barbour repros)

    Of course. I totally agree with you on this. I’m not saying that living organisms are ML algorithms or LLMs. I’m only saying that, in its base form, the learning algorithm of both is somewhat similar.

    What if I argue that learning in humans (specifically young humans) is very very similar to the learning that happens in ML algorithms? I’m not pro or against, just offering an opinion.
