Do you know if he left Japan Blue and started Omoto? I couldn't tell if it was a separate thing or if it was another brand owned by the PE firm that bought Japan Blue Group

I guess it depends on the artist's approach on how they want to go about promoting themselves and what's working for them but the album format is still very relevant on the music industry side if you're trying to get a record deal, write ups, articles, reviews, schedule a tour, etc because companies and people working in the music industry still put a lot of value on you having an album to promote which then they can release songs steadily ahead of the release. This may all change as things continue to evolve and younger people who grew up in this new era of music but from conversations I've had when I was talking to labels and companies about releasing music I've worked on and also hearing some friends now who are in process of negotiating their own deals, the album is still very relevant. -
I used to not really care for black warp/white weft jeans but I've come to appreciate it as an alternative to black warp/black jeans when I want a black outfit but not be too monochrome. There have been a lot of great options for black warp/white weft popping up lately....I personally went with the Boncoura version which I thought looked closer to black than silver/gray. For all black fabrics, I have a few favorites for different fits....currently I really like the wide leg RS fit from 3sixteen. it's def a modern wide leg but I think it's really easy to wear and drapes nicely. The sugar cane 1947 black fit is a classic straight that I've had multiples of and I also wear my Stevenson Encinitas black jean when I want a slimmer look. I agree with reallypeacedoff that the samurai BK fabric is really good too.

I agree that the Joafers are not the worst thing ever but it does cross the "is this bad?" line while I think with sandals, it works. That nylon type I is from the Levis x Porter collab they did a few years ago. https://hypebeast.com/2020/10/levis-porter-type-ii-jacket-collaboration-release-information -

I dont know....it could look REALLY cool with navy socks, a pair of similarly colored jeans and a chambray shirt. -
is this Moreno?

I didnt care for vests but got one recently and now I'm annoyed when I dont have it on. my other clothes have such little functionality compared to it. I guess this is how I end up becoming those old asian uncles I grew up with and wondered why they always had vests on. I already found my cold tolerance has gotten worse so this all makes sense.

fwiw, the fit looks great on you and the fabric has worn in nicely. I have the same thing where I get bored with the smoother, more uniform denim but then I'll put them on or see someone wearing a worn in pair and I'm into them again.

From the get go it seemed like they were super ambitious and I always wondered how they were actually doing...turns out, not so good. -
My resolution to not buy any pants in 2025 lasted 3 months. I got the Boncoura painter pants in the 15oz black warp white weft denim. I generally avoided this color of denim but this one is pretty dark and not metallic gray looking and i like how i can wear it with other black clothes without looking too monochrome. The fit is pretty roomy but has some shape to it still. The slight taper in the leg is nice when the top block and thighs are on the wider side. Boncoura details are always fun with the hidden coin pocket, selvedge id on the inside of the back pockets and branded zipper. I went with the raw hem which I’ll probably chain stitch later down the line when I’m sick of this.

Yeah it’s the same denim. I think it’ll look really nice in jacket form. The denim ages on the faster side with good contrast. I washed my jeans a lot and it still shows a lot of contrast.

I’ve been wearing these D111 LHT jeans most days the last 3-4 months. It’s got a lot of vertical lines forming and fades are coming pretty quickly.

oh yeah I forgot that Birkenstock was owned by them. sucks. I'm probably close to needing to get a new pair after years of wearing my last pair. I'll have to look at alternatives. -

nope. I've contributed to probably 5-6 kickstarters over the years esp right when kickstarter was really getting going....all of them got funded many times over the initial goal and I think only 2 of them were fulfilled.... one was for an album that actually got made and the other was a board game that got very delayed but at least delivered....the unfulfilled ones were a some kind of physical product where 2 years after funding, the founder sent an email out that it was never going to be made and that we could file a dispute with our CC company, another was a cafe that actually opened up and is still open but many people never got their coffee orders nor do they ever respond to questions about it....I also contributed to some musical projects where nothing came of it and the musicians just went on making other music. After the last ones where the updates stopped, I stopped contributing to any unless they were for someone I knew. -
Yeah for the most part. I first sew the edges of the hole to clean it up without the patch and then i do another pass to sew the patch on around the hole. Then i just finish it up with a design to sew down the rest of it. I’m working on cleaning up the backside but generally this is enough to have the repair stay on with repeated wear and wash

it's a great album. Corey also mixed Trauma Ray's new album which was really good. Also on that same vein, I've been playing the new Balance and Composure album a ton. -
I have an unworn masterson shirt up for sale. It looks like a black white chambray with all the usual Masterson details. Chest 45.5” Length: 29” Sleeve: 26” Shoulder: 19” $100 shipped in the US. International shipping will have to be worked out individually.

It's interesting how the love/hate for leg twists comes in and out with style/fit trends. When slim tapered jeans were very popular, I remember having to have this conversation constantly about leg twists and some people having an internal crisis when they discovered their jeans twisted after some wear and wash. in recent times, it's been a lot less... -
My kid keeps destroying pants. I’ll have to sew in double knees at some point. Some 80s Levi’s with some serious leg twist, nippers that prob shouldn’t be worn much anymore, wranglers and some modern carhartt that didn’t hold up nearly as well as the other pants. I used some flat head and roy denim scraps as well as some canvas and flannel fabric swatches from Seuvas.

I don’t wear these 1947 jeans as much anymore but they’re looking great. I’ve the last round of repairs on the fabric and stitching fixes, i leave them as only occasional wear so they don’t get too messed up.
