@ashgiovanni if they weren't so dang tapered I'd keep 'em!

I think a ~6 month lead time is fairly reasonable, but 1.5 years on the other hand is a little much. I remember when I got my BoT and it only took ~3 month. Good to know, thanks! Yeah those were definitely a bit over the top, but the Neat Style offering is much more tasteful. Might try out a pair.
-
@Lorcan I think you’ve ordered directly from Neat Style before correct? I’ve been interested in the jeans from Little Hand and the model they have looks nice!
-
It's interesting how some people are developing more rust on their buttons than others. Mine have barely any rust at all, guessing it might have to do with the different water composition of where everyone is located?

For me personally some of it has to do with their arc design, I used to like more unique offerings like theirs (or IH, Strike Gold, etc.) but these days I’d rather have plain pockets or traditional Levi’s arcs. I did try on the new wide cut and it was very nice, but in reality I’ve got way too many jeans in my collection already so I talked myself out of them. I also feel like the rockabilly look isn’t quite as popular these days in Japan as it used to be. Although some of that has been toned down in recent years too. The ultra suede arcs were awful…

Unfortunately not, but I've recruited some boots on the ground!

Hard to imagine that we still have 12 months left! Here's some post wash photos of my pair, probably going to start rotating other pairs in so these don't get too washed out before the end of the contest.

Washed my Slash jeans yesterday, posting pre and post wash measurements for anyone interested. Plan is to rotate them in with the WoM contest jeans. The most interesting detail I'm noticing post wash is how dense the top of the back pocket openings are, similar to a pair of Roy's jeans but wider. I'm guessing he folds the fabric several times when constructing the back pockets. Also the denim is quite dense and heavy post wash. I'll take some post wash pictures and I'll likely start a dedicated brand thread soon. Unwashed Waist: 38 in. Front rise: 14 in. Back rise: 17.75 in. Thigh: 14.5 in. Knee: 11 in. Hem: 10 in. Inseam: 32 in. Warm soaked for an hour and then a quick trip through the washing machine on cold / gentle cycle. Waist: 36 in. Front rise: 13.25 in. Back rise: Thigh: 14 in. Knee: 10.5 in. Hem: 9.5 in. Inseam: 30 in.

SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)
Broark replied to minya's topic in superdenim
@nick682 Rain at Indigo Proof is the best in my experience, pricy but I think she’s the best. The SE location here in Austin also does a great job, I can’t recall her name but I’ve had a couple pairs hemmed there specifically with good results. -
Did anyone here ever end up ordering anything from Andy Caroline? They recently released their take on an M-35 and I think it looks nice, reasonably priced too at 24,000¥ + 3,000¥ for international shipping.

Just got back from vacation visiting my parents in Florida, first time traveling with our daughter and she did great! I've heard it gets much more difficult once they're a little older so we decided to take this trip now. Didn't wear the jeans much outside of travel days, but giving them another wash today so I'll update with post wash pics. Got some crazy rain in central Texas while we were away, came back home to our roof slightly leaking but fortunately nothing was damaged. Taking it all in. Walking to the beach with Pawpaw. She really loved the sound of the ocean and did well in the pool too! Always eat as much seafood as I can whenever I'm near the ocean. Saffron and seafood risotto. Grilled out for the 4th. So long, until next time. Heading home. Pups on the ride back home, Rooney has to stay in kennel jail because he's too crazy in the car...

Damn, that’s a shame.

@chicote I would probably say size up, I sold my 147s because the waist was a bit more nipped than I anticipated. I also didn't give them much of a chance to stretch, but I personally think most of their jeans look better sized up.
-
Yeah I’m definitely not in the market to drop a considerable amount of cash on something that I know next to nothing about. I just was trying to do some preliminary research on beginner bikes, but like y’all mentioned it’s probably best to just go to a shop, tell them what I want and my budget and go from there. Austin has a big biking community so it shouldn’t be a problem. I just needed some encouragement to go do it. Plus I’ve got to get comfortable on a bike again, in a few years my daughter will want to go on rides.
-
This would most likely be the best choice. We don't live very close to many true off-road trails, but there are quite a few gravel trails around town. Honestly getting into riding has always seemed daunting for some reason, there are so many options out there that it's hard to know what's worthwhile. I know I don't need anything fancy, I just want decent value for my money. And don't worry, I wouldn't be caught dead in Lycra. Unless it was made by FW.

That’s a good point, I think the worst part here is the amount of concrete that just bakes off so much heat. I’m sure the breeze helps, but whenever you’ve got to stop at red lights and wait you start to heat up. My buddy is big on riding and does it here often, he’s been telling me to get a bike for some time now.
-
Yup it's all about what you get acclimated to, I don't mind wearing jeans in 100+F heat here since it's usually quite dry. Hell, I'll even go walk a golf course in those temps, not in jeans of course. But I think about riding a bike when it's this hot and I start sweating. But I see people here doing it all the time, so I'm sure I'd get used to it eventually. I'd just have to sell all my jeans and buy them all in a size down.
-
Beautiful scenery 00, how hot was it? I always like the thought of getting into riding bikes, just too damn hot most of the year.

Definitely considered this as well, I'm gonna shoot vlad a message since he is a similar size as me so if he's around it might just work... I'll shoot my shot but I'm not holding my breath on landing them on my pwn, but you never know if you don't try! -

Normally I would give that a try, but what I'm after has been advertised explicitly as only available in person (designated by the manufacturer). I might still give it a try though if I don't get any bites here, it's worked in the past before. -

Do we have any active forum members that live in Japan? Trying to find someone that could possibly proxy for something applicable to the unknown brands thread, unfortunately I don't think traditional proxy services will cut it. It's going to a store on a specific day, but I'm working out the details. And if successful it would likely warrant a spin off to a new standalone thread. Only person I can think of off the top of my head is @vlad_III, but please dm me if interested! -
Yeah I had a brain fart, apologies.
