FW '20s tux FTW!!!
-
This sounds interesting... hope you don't mind me asking what you have planned? Hoping there's a few what is my indigo-neoprene-suit-doing-today posts featuring

You guessed right mate. Just looked this up - avenuewebstore states the '22 jeans denim is the 'standard' as used on the '47 jeans. I also rechecked elsewhere (for sanity's sake) and the '22 jacket uses the same as the '33 jacket and '37 jeans. So the '22 jeans and the '27 jacket are matchy matchy on denim. The '22 jacket an outlier. Would be interested if there was any FW logic to this (other than the timing point)

That's what my post said mate... I have the '27 jacket too - it's the 'standard' denim. I don't have the '22 jeans (as you say released years ago) and for clarity can't say what denim they are. My earlier post could have inferred it was the same as the jacket (good spot Austin, thanks). That said, it seems a bit odd to have a '22 jacket that is different denim to the '22 jeans but it may well be true or not! Calling @Duke Mantee

I have the 22 jacket Shred and it's the same denim, as per FW, as the 37 jeans and 33 jacket that I have.

1933 jacket... bought one-wash... and not washed by me yet... the lighting isn't great... the denim is darker and richer than it appears in the photos... slowly slowly developing character

^ '22 (jacket) and '37 jeans are the same denim developed specifically in recent years; 47 (jeans) denim is the FW 'standard' denim which is different Note, from the posts following later, that the '22 jeans are in 'standard' denim.

The poor GBP exchange rate makes that price hikes even worse over our side of the pond

That's a pretty speedy delivery! Looks the right size and a good fit - shoulders look comfortable and the arms the right length, based on the pictures but you'll know how it feels. There may be some shrink left in the denim if you've only washed it once but you could control that by washing in future at lower temps and avoiding the dryer. IThe fit should only get better as it relaxes and moulds to you. I'm sure you know all this - just commenting as you asked. How is it with the top button fastened? For jackets that are snugger in the lower section, fastening one or two buttons and leaving the rest open can look good...

@Double 0 Soul so was your old Volvo 240 the latter day equivalent of @Broark's new motor, only the Volvo was comparatively less environmentally friendly??? 😜
-
Good shout. I noticed the differences are significant and tried Kapital's own store but was late to the party as the jacket I wanted had sold out.

^^^^ love the ceremonial gloves and gasps as the 42 and 45 models were unveiled on the video... good job I wasn't there as I'd have been tempted to whip 'em on given the jeans and jacket look like my perfect sizing 😉 I take it they'll replicate the vintage pattern for the golden sizes which make the set even more tempting Looking forward to more teasers over the next 4-6 months!

@TripicalMidbooster Thanks for the intro... good to meet you... and pleased you've turned from lurker to poster! Lovely FW jacket there too 👍

I checked in with Simone earlier today... the plan remains to have the jeans to us in December... but, yeah, as we know (and I'm paraphrasing a touch here), no plan survives first contact with reality (Marshal Helmuth von Moltke the Elder said 'enemy' but it's clearly not appropriate here!). Single-man dependency risks certainly apply here! There's a load of pics on his Instagram and his website Alec - worth a gander if you haven't looked already - is anything missing? We're behind other work in Simone's queue so any new asks could cause timeline delays. We could see what he has easily to hand that's missing... but there are 5 different models in the contest we'd need to factor and we need to be careful to avoid delays matey.... also not sure what he keeps in stock, probably not much. Let's see where we land. Agreeing that them 5150s look very nice indeed!!

@aho ooof that jacket looks good! It looks like the pattern is the same as the Railroad jacket which I have in ecru. I remember discussing the fit with @Broark and @JohnM at the time.. as @Broark says the shoulders are noticeably slimmer. @JohnM had contacted Ryo directly about the pattern and Ryo said the following... I'm working on the basis John's ok with me sharing as it's some useful info direct from the maker himself 👍 "As you feel, this jacket has a unique fit because of vintage cutting A line, Narrow shoulders and wide arm, side seamless, split sleeves. A split sleeve is a set-in sleeve at the front and a raglan sleeve at the back. You may be feeling something wrong with your shoulder fit until you get used to this jacket, it is right, it is an intentional element. In our opinion, your shoulder fitting should be more comfortable little by little as you wear it. Enjoy!! "

You're all making me hungry I don't often eat pizza but like it when I do... preferences include goats cheese, blue cheese, anchovies, olives, seafood generally, capers, chilli peppers... my Lebanese friends said they grew up being told zataar boosts your intelligence so we've eaten that a bit together... nice nopal on the figs, walnuts and honey... that's enough I need to eat pizza... did somebody say just eat?
