  1. If we take to extremes 1) a 50cm rise + 80cm inseam 2) a 30cm rise + 80cm inseam If worn in exactly the same place on the waist, scenario 1) has more material which has to go somewhere… and would hang lower on the leg Noting and agreeing that there are many more parameters will define how they look on an individual!! 😃
  2. @fresh1 looking good... though the pic raises too many questions ... is that the local park? What were you wearing when you took the picture? Did they call the police?
  3. ^^ Tender front rise runs less than 13 inch... but if you can comprise on that, the thigh on the 132 in size 3 is 14 inch
  4. @malik not much to add to the above... this is a bit of a challenge eh... the thigh size for the waist as well as inseam sometimes Yamane denim is worth double-checking e.g. the Labor#7001 model (looks great)... but I think inseam will be too short Canes M41101 a 1930s Leepro in W36 (which washes to a W34) has 13 inch front rise and 14.5 inch thighs. Looks a good match - the issue is you'd need a lot of luck finding them on Yahoo auctions I checked Freewheelers 1937 - the thigh measured at crotch is 13.5 inch so little short. Ditto the Sugar Canes 1943 collectibles. Belafonte worth a check too - hi-back trousers won't work due to inseam but they may have other models - and they look good worn big which may help Good luck and keep us posted!
  5. @l13902733261 thanks for posting... what other jackets are in the latest catalog? If you have time, I'd be interested in some pics... thanks
  6. Now then Mason, good to see you check in again... how are you doing? How's the denim and hat wearing going?
  7. All sounds good UK advice... one consideration @AlientoyWorkmachine is which airport you'll fly into and how long you'll end up travelling to get to the destination. It's only 4-5 days and best parts of 2 days could be eaten up travelling internally with more far flung UK locations. If flying into London, the Peak District would be OK... maybe some of our southern Sufu-ers have some options closer to the big smoke (London)
  8. @chicote cool as... love it! I'm looking forward to the fade pics already
  9. ^ I've been going that way in my last few hem jobs... bonus being you get to see the roping (unless you're rocking a 'Tender cuff')... could be worth a go Austin
  10. Well that reminded me OO… I was a lurker for a long time on Sufu then joined up and lurked. I had no plans to post on here as that was just for weirdos wasn’t it. It could also be a bit cantankerous with a bit of keyboard warrior antics thrown in. But the denim banter and info was top notch and unique (to my knowledge) so I kept lurking… (the DB / Sufu chat the other day relates) Anyhow I was in hotter climes for a while. The water out of the tap was at least 30C. I’d gotten a new pair of jeans from Self Edge… and wanted to keep it safe with a cold soak… but the tap water wasn’t cold. So I bought bottled water, stuck it in the fridge and soaked them in a bucket I bought. The jeans came through nicely and fit – result, happy days. So I plucked up the courage to post one for the Sufu weirdos… showing what I’d done… only to be met with a volley of (well, maybe a few) negative reps… that was it then… back to lurking 😉
  11. Like denim, you just need to know where to look - and not to look - right!! My only real personal expenditure other than clothes is coffee. Agreeing with Maynard, I pass on the nonsense. Just stick to the actions that make a good cup of coffee. I buy quality beans from different roasters on a weekly basis, delivered by post - like denim, I like a bit of variety! Use different brewing methods - Chemex, aeropress, V60, Khalita Wave, the Roc (a tip off on here from Foxy which is a hand-powered 'espresso' maker). Which means I needed to invest in a good quality grinder, so I get the coffee particle sizes right (it varies a lot depending on method) to get the right extraction times to make the coffee taste good. Oh and a good brewing guide for each method to begin with and then it's trial and error to adjust. I did go through a phase of only using filtered low residue water but it's out the tap again now which is good for me
  12. I like a good espresso but start the day with a Chemex for a nice, clean cup. I hand grind the beans with a Commadante grinder just before brewing. My missus used to make tumeric milk daily and thanks to the convo above looks like it's game on again. Done by... grate fresh tumeric root into a milk pan; add a little coconut oil and heat. When it starts to get golden, lower heat and add milk. Let it boil, then allow to go luke warm, filter it and add honey. Plus you can add cinamon to taste (if you're not Gee!)

  14. More Canes... these came From Japan... big thank you to @nopal who provided the tip-off this time 👍 M41030V... a '37 model, in size w36, l36 which levels out at about a w34. Interestingly laurel wreath buttons - can do more pics later They look unworn but washed... the hem has slight signs of roping and the inseam was 87 which iirc is about what my M41001 were at post-wash So I quickly tried 'em on - a nice wide fit - and stuck 'em in a 40C wash Post wash, the measurements are unchanged... I'll be calling on @Mr Black's hemming services soon
  15. @julian-wolf love 'em... great catch...
  16. OK... so we have the models, sizes and inseam requirements for all 26. Well done everyone... you gotta love it when a plan comes together 😉 The choice breakdown sees the 411S '42-inspired model as the most popular, followed by the 5150 '50-s Eddie Van Halen model though it must be said there's good coverage across the 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s... it's shaping up to be a contest spanning many denim genres... Please also have a final check of the final list below... DM me any issues please I'll email the spreadsheet to Simone tomorrow... then we can sit back and look forward to the kick-off 😀
  17. I've lost focus - it had been most of 6 months on the FW '37 - and am now wearing whatever, whenever I feel like it
  18. OK folks... a follow up as we have a ‘deadline’ to finalise choices by 14th September. Thanks to everyone who has provided details already For action please (all contestants) Can @beautiful_FrEaK @MJF9 @fabes @81611 @srudy @bartlebyyphonics @theguywhoknewthatguy @volvo240thebest @dudewuttheheck @CSL finalise their details please (the yellow bits on the attached spreadsheet). Please DM me as stuff gets lost in the thread. Any missing requirements will be defaulted to 28 waist, with 28 cm inside leg 😉 Can those who have already provided their requirements (status of green) check the table is correct for them. Belt and braces brought safety to John Wayne and so we’ll use them here. If it’s correct, just rep the post please. Any errors, DM me and @beautiful_FrEaK please If anyone has any issues, please let me know. Thanks all... nearly there

  20. @tooth cool, developing very nicely... I'd be interested in seeing how your SC-43s have evolved... I have a hardly worn pair... really love the SC-43 denim, nice and dark indigo with that rough texture
  21. @bartlebyyphonics loving the width and hem of your TCBs and the park-ette life @tooth nice SCs... which '46 are they? SDC? I'm possibly vacuous tonight
