  1. ^ congratulations to your not so lil one, you and Mrs Ooms!!
  2. Loving these Tezomeya t-shirts. Got one un-dyed and one Fujinezu-iro (deep purple). Worn both, washed one... they'll do nicely... thanks to @julian-wolf for sharing above. Agree they are a bit long on the 185cm but they're relaxed and can be tucked nicely so it's all fine. The colour is really nice and dull. I'll go a few more as the dyeing has my interest. Fujinezu-iro created by using insect galls. This deep purple color was one of the popular colors in Edo period and this dying process was also used for dyeing teeth black which was fashionable in Edo period. I'm not going full tilt with the black teeth though 😁
  3. The 3 mods must be really busy doing other things on the site mate 😉
  4. Sugar Cane 1943 perfectly wonky set-up / Freewheelers / @Duke Mantee / Brother Bridge (shiny new and in need of some wear!)
  5. Haha not with UK prices... and the Yen rates making jackets extra good value Given I'm in Yorkshire, I tell the kids they can have the heating on after jackets and star jumps have failed to warm them up... and it's below 10C... indoors
  6. They're an important piece of my daily attire, virtually every day in fact, both in the house and out of the house!!
  7. Tender / Freewheelers 1937 / Bronson / @Duke Mantee / Russell Moccasin
  8. Type 410 three pocket square tail shirt in Achilles' Heel indigo dyed 10oz cross weave denim... now close your eyes and say that again I ummed and ahhed over sizes and could have gone larger but opted for a shirt fit rather than shirt/jacket fit. I'd happily have another one in another fabric (top selection of fabrics kicking around) but would go a size up for layering. This fabric is definitely special, lovely 3D texture and wonderful colour. I gave it a couple of washes before wearing just to be sure to take off any excess dye (safety measure on my part; the shirt has actually had a wash after dyeing, and I understand that the dye is more firmly fixed than in a standard denim). The pics below are pre-wash, taken indoors with the light on...
  9. ^ I just ordered a couple of long sleeved tezo t-shirts off the back of Julian's pics and review (thanks Julian). Subsequent interactions with tezomaya direct were positive - very customer friendly. They have the different dyed versions available on different dates... I went for an un-dyed and a fujinezu-iro (deep purple) which are available about now and went for the 185 cm version just off the chest size... 75cm did seem a bit long so we'll see how that goes... can always tuck them in... looking forward to getting them for summer wear
  10. @CSL got to say you rock them vests (waistcoats) really well... always good to see you wearing them... whatever the setting... and the link between the country and utilitarian value chimes well... now I think about it... is there a 'show us your vests' thread in here somewhere???
  11. 12. We already have the 'How many pairs of jeans do you own?' thread However conspicuous by its absence is the 'How many denim jackets have you got?' thread So high time we get this thread going!! The following are all encouraged… posting your denim jacket count to answer the thread exam question (though the number itself matters not), pictures of your happy denim jacket family, any denim jacket stories… and, of course, anything else even loosely related...
  13. Folks, I realised we're not explicitly answering the exam question from the thread i.e. how many pairs of jeans do you have So I edited my post above to include the actual number...
  14. Haha less mate... I updated above with non denim trousers so proportionately it's now even less
  15. @AlientoyWorkmachine I'll start a new 'how many denim jackets?' thread as soon as and post 'em in there mate

  17. @swiss-jeansfreak do you have an inventory of all the jeans in your Jeansmuseum?
  18. What did you land Julian? The link doesn't work for the UK
  19. @edwardlj thanks for the correction and the info... changed my post ^ accordingly and booked in for another eye test
  20. 162 also quite wide and straight legged with quite large rises - really comfortable - and also based on Levis, their interpretation of a late 30s model If you scroll through the thread, you'll see the fits on Smooth, me and other Sufu'ers which should help
  21. Haha glad to help mate... I've worn the 33 quite a bit over the past 6 months ish and it's a slow burner... just starting to get some visible signs recently... would be good to see yours when you're ready
  22. Anyone had their 1942s come through the post yet? Calling @Broark @Dr_Heech
  23. Measurements are very similar for the 42 and 44 above Chest 55 compared to 54 cm / Shoulders c.50cm on both 42 19.7in = 50cm 42.9 = 54.5 44 20.5 = 52.7 44.9 = 57 As mentioned, the material is stretchy so the measurements could be more variable. The 44 is a touch bigger when worn, no shit Sherlock you say!! I've had lots of Bronson t-shirts before and found them good value for money overall. I'll report back post-wash with these though @indigoeagle yep it's their 1940s USN t-shirt. Interesting button holes you point out... Bronson have them... what were they used for back in the day? And the laces? @Mods - we're now deep in discussion of non Japanese garms on a Japanese garms thread 😉
  24. No moving, just watching
