  2. Speaking of losing and gaining weight - and I am not generally one to focus on this stuff at all, given how problematic it can be for people - but Inoue San is looking slender!!
  3. All this 220A talk and the news of the mill stopping making the fabric for them makes me want to pick up another pair!
  4. In the wash and dryer they went. Haven’t tried them on yet but the waist looks like a potato chip. raw 41 cm flat hot soak 39 Washer and dryer 37, but they don’t really lay flat anymore they softened up a bit too.
  5. I just measured them, they’re actually smaller than my warehouse 800, I think the rise makes them not fit right. Hot soak fit photos. going in the washing machine now

  7. Nice @ATWM! For myself, I find a patch quicker to get repaired and less obtrusive–darning [almost] always comes out super stiff, like cardboard, in most cases that I have had it done. Plus, the wait time can be 4-10 weeks. In saying that, I had my SEXI26s repaired at SELA from my moto accident, the whole crotch and left leg were ripped entirely, and it feels like a new pair of jeans after repairing. Soft and pliable.
  8. Off work this week, took a day trip to Mackinac Island today. Mackinac Island is a historically significant car-free island technically in Lake Huron, one of the 5 Great Lakes. Lake Michigan ‘flows’ into Lake Huron through the Straights of Mackinac, an almost 5 mile wide channel that separates Michigan's lower peninsula from the upper peninsula. Due to this strategic location, Mackinac Island has been used as a fort since 1780 to control the Straits. Originally built by the British, it was taken by the Americans not until 1796, 20 years after independence was declared. The British also briefly reoccupied the fort and island from 1812-1815. Of course, the location was also strategically and culturally important to Native Americans long before. I remember reading an excellently illustrated book as a kid about Mackinac Island, which according to Native American legend was formed by a giant turtle. The name Mackinac actually orginates from the Ojibwe word meaning ‘great turtle.’ Interestingly enough, the French spelled it Mackinac and the British Mackinaw. The island and bridge use the French spelling, but the city on the mainland the English. As an island, the only way to reach it is by boat, plane, or if the straits freeze over, snowmobile. There is a small year round population, but it’s largely a (very popular) summer tourist destination. It’s an incredibly unique and beautiful place! Fort Mackinac, where you can see historic reenactments. Typical ferry The Grand Hotel (view from the ferry), which boasts the longest front porch in the world, and has a formal dress code (and is very expensive). View of the Mackinac Bridge from the ferry, which connects Michigan's upper and lower peninsulas. When it was built, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world at 5 miles. Downtown. The only transportation on the island is horse-drawn carriage and bicycles. Fort Mackinac sign American Trench / Whitesville / Left Field / Hokas
  9. I love the high front rise on them. Aesthetically vintage looking jeans
  10. Here's mine 40 wash and a dryer
  11. I was looking at the sizing on the TCB website and also asked Ryo and he recommended a size 42 based on my height weight. I’m 5 ft 9 about 164 lbs. I have a 30s jacket which is definitely small on me lol
  12. No, went with a 32 again haha. I ended up losing a bit of weight recently after a period of gaining through lifting, so I think I've hit the max size I'll ever be haha
  13. My jeans have a similar repair, but in this case (and almost always) I get darning without any patch. I also have overstitched the middle seam to reinforce but in my case the darning was done because some fabric itself was starting to fray. It's been holding quite well as a repair now with another two month of bicycling on it.

I was able to get 2"/5cm shrinkage in the waist and 1/2 to 1" in all other measurements on a pair of W36 220A. I soaked in extremely hot (seemed like it was almost boiling) water for an hour, occasionally agitating by hand. Then a hot machine wash and electric dryer. This process caused the patch to lose a lot of ink, but the leather remains in decent shape. If that's something that would bother you, be careful. Even after all the shrinkage, the 220A will continue to have an unusually high rise compared to the rest of the measurements. Not necessarily bad, just different. The denim is really cool though and I would embrace any marbling - it suits them.

Sorry, I don't think I took measurements while they were raw. I do remember them shrinking quite a bit. I would nuke them in the washer and dryer and see how much shrink you can get out of them.
  16. Do you know what they started at?
  17. nick682

    Denime

You should be able to get some more shrink out of them. I had to sell my first pair of 220A and buy a size up because they were too tight. The size 31 I sold measured around 15.25" after washing.
  18. Alright. You know, that they fit small, right? At least for the 20s jacket my 48 fits more like a 44.
  19. Thanks @indigoeaglefor the lead on the TCB late 40s jacket. I apparently need a size 42 which I can’t find. 😭 if anyone has a lead, it’s appreciated. I prefer buying from a Japanese store and avoid the markup. Thanks!
  20. @dennnnnnnnn They don't look too bad considering that's pre-soak. I have found in my limited experience that a nice hot wash and dry can help a garment settle into itself, so to speak. From what I've seen/read (mostly on here) the marbling on a pair of Denime's is unavoidable, but you can always try to mitigate it by turning off the spin cycle, then when they're done roll them up in towel and squeeze out what water you can, unroll and smooth out the wrinkles before tossing in the drier. You've already got them wet, so I think it's worth a try.
  21. They marble just by looking at them. A hot wash with medium spin and hot dryer should shrink these up good (inside out of course). They look similar to how mine were. I had to use a belt but don't mind that.
  22. Just from the pre soak fit I didn’t have much hope, usually I can stick a hand in my waist band, if I tried these in person I would have sized down for sure. I wasn’t shipping these back to hinoya so I had nothing to lose. is it worth throwing in the washing machine and dryer? I don’t want any dreaded marbling. I assume they’ll stretch out back to loose regardless. here’s some pre soak photos for now
  23. Size 3 in the 132 should work well for you
  24. "32". Looking for a 13" thigh or bigger, in a 32-33" waist
  25. I did not! I will check in with Eric, thanks.
  26. @knucks What sizes do you wear from other brands?
  27. hey neighbor, you can always email the man himself for specific sizing info but generally https://www.tenderstores.com/sizing/ is a good start. you know Today is supposed to start stocking Tender as well yea?
