Looks great—I love the use of the original hem for the top of the pocket (+ the busted seam down the middle)

I never thought I’d see the day that @Double 0 Soul would consider spending more than £5 on a cotton tee shirt

I was tempted to set up something like the above ^ just to get around storage + battery limitations on my phone…but in the end decided against it since, even with the bit of extra space, fitting everything on the local drive would have meant downconverting my whole library, and even then it would probably have been tight In stead I landed on moving all my media to a Synology NAS box, and setting up a lightweight Plex server. It was pretty straightforward to get it up and running, and it lets me stream my music from anywhere without needing to do any conversions or make any copies. It also gives me easy access to streaming my movies & TV, although that collection is quite a bit smaller. As an added bonus, there’s enough room on the NAS that I was able to set up an extra partition for keeping backups of my computer and phone. I’d definitely recommend a similar setup to anyone with a large library

Freewheelers, Bootleggers Reunion, Bubo, etc.

‘51 601XX, as requested Next minor repair will be a patch around the top of the right outseam where the front leg panel is wearing through, I guess since the pocket backing is cut a good bit wider than the leg itself causing a little bulge that rubs on my bag- 5039 replies

In other news… Picked up my absolute dream pair around a month ago, the M41059. I actually already had a pair, which I’d found years ago in the same size (33) as my first M41058, but it turned out that these run around a size smaller, and there was no chance they were going to be comfortable after shrinking. These new ones are tagged 35, and in great condition. Ignoring older MP-series wares like the above, this model has always been right at the top of the list of Cane’s I’d like to find.

Resurrecting this from the depths… This was a pair of (supposedly) M41030 that didn't quite match up—pink line denim, in stead of white, and a number of other details different from the standard M41030. Well, looking back through the thread, I'm seeing the S.C. & Co - T.Y. rivet shanks with the "25" in the middle, which just came up in the last page or so in the context of a pair I saw on Yahoo that looked like MP-series, but didn't have much on which to base an ID. @Maynard Friedman suggested that they were likely a 1990 production, with the 25 referencing the Toyo Enterprise 25th anniversary. Seemed very plausible. As it happens, these were made from a pretty similar looking pink-line denim to the pair above. Maybe @Graytrain's pair were a very early version, still using left over rivets from 2–3 years earlier, and possibly a transition late-MP / early-M denim?

Denim Blunders, Reflections and General Nonsense.
julian-wolf replied to cmboland's topic in superdenim
For what it’s worth, I actually was just talking with Roy about those jeans (& that whole saga) a few months ago, and for his part he claims that it was never communicated to him that there was meant to be a full contest run of the jeans until it was already way too late to up production…given how poor the communication was on the DB end, as well, it’s easy for me to believe that all the miscommunication fell on Sansome (or whomever it was nominally organizing) from the start -
Denim Blunders, Reflections and General Nonsense.

I’d forgotten completely about the whole saga of finger-pointing surrounding the tour jeans…The amount of conspiracy-theorizing that surrounded the few months’ radio silence of one person on an already long-dead forum was seriously comical. Just to tie it all together, the tour jeans (that were so comprehensively theorized to have been stolen by Foxy) were a pair of the 1890s LeRoy’s repros that were meant to have been for the contest mentioned at the very top of 00’s post. I guess it all comes back around? -
Word of Mouth - The Crust & Fades Contest
julian-wolf replied to beautiful_FrEaK's topic in superdenim
I’ll still be mostly wearing my S601XX and 601RB up until the contest—but, like the rest of you, not with much commitment. Recently I’ve really been enjoying Roy’s Foreman Pants, too, as well as the new black SC ‘47s. Who’s to say when there’ll be any real wear to show on any of them? Especially now that I’m working a mostly-desk job -

Think on it. They’re some of my favorite jeans I’ve worn, and in general I’d def. recommend them, but that asking price is quite a bit above MSRP (enough so that it would prob. be a dealbreaker for me, personally, even if they were in my size)

Denim Blunders, Reflections and General Nonsense.

^ Good thought. For me, probably either the Roy Blackseed R01 Test Lot jeans or the The Flat Head S2004 -
I don’t remember those shrinking much in length. I can measure mine later but they’ve gotta still be at least like 35” after a few washes
-
So you’re still a 34 in Cane’s but going with a 37 in the contest jeans?

SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)
julian-wolf replied to minya's topic in superdenim
The Russell Vellies (sp?) are a great option for a zero-structure moc w/ a slimmer / more modern profile and a very low (but not zero) drop They feel more barefoot than my Birks, a lot of the time (Personally, I prefer at least a little structure, so they don’t get worn a ton—but they seem like great boots) -

Word of Mouth - The Crust & Fades Contest

Jeez, I put in for a W35 without thinking much about it, but all this (over) analysis had me wondering if I should be going an extra size up -
Word of Mouth - The Crust & Fades Contest
julian-wolf replied to beautiful_FrEaK's topic in superdenim
No, sounds like the WWII will have olive twill and the ‘42 will have lightweight denim. Not sure about the others but I’d guess variations on standard white drill. It’s all been detailed already earlier on in the thread, I’m sure -
