MOTO #2121, due for a brushing

Tezomeya ebizome-iro (madder root + cochineal, mordanted with alum + wood vinegar) henley neck tee Really like this thing a lot. I have two other, much older tees from them as well, which are just as deserving of photo shoots, but I’m wearing one now and the other’s in the laundry. I have a few other newer ones, too, that aren’t yet worth photographing. All that’s to say that I really love their shirts, and will def. be continuing to buy more whenever the opportunity arises. Really great fabric, great dyeing, overall A+ work

Sauce Zhan heavyweight cotton tee garment dyed w/ natural pigment (I think maybe from magnolia?) Picked this up in ~2017 and have worn it a couple times a month since. With all pigment-dyed tees, I really enjoy seeing the border than forms between sun-bleached and not, where they get tucked in. On this one, I’ve noticed something I’d never seen before, which is a darker imprint of the front of the collar on the back of the neck (pics 4 & 6). I can only imagine that it’s from when the shirt is out drying in the sun after getting washed, since those two parts don’t see each other at all when it’s getting worn. In any case, it’s become an absolute favorite detail. I’m bummed out by the polyester stitching, which looks more and more out of place the longer I wear the shirt, but I’m usually able to look past it, and overall I like the shirt a lot

Haven’t been keeping up—are they doing another round w/ the Motor Psyclone black denims? -
Meanwhile, the one thing I have from Bronson that hasn’t fallen apart has been a really huge success Wore this most days for probably around 2–3 years from ~2016 onwards, and even now it still sees a few days of sunlight each month Great denim, great execution. Overall I probably prefer the Union Special version, but not by a large margin

I’ve had two tops from them, and was very pleasantly surprised by how well they fit considering how classically “western” my body type is, but both had visible construction flaws (not a huge deal for me) and ended up failing prematurely at points of stress (a much bigger deal), so they’re a pass from me at this point.

That approach to wonkiness has always struck me as ultra corny; that was already my main complaint with the early rounds of Warehouse DSB, and it’s wild to see how much farther folks have continued pushing it these days

That’s aging great. Do you (either of you) worry about the ends of the darts being such points of stress, over time?

Agreed, the wear on that is A+

SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)
julian-wolf replied to minya's topic in superdenim
@tooth No I don’t think I ever took any pictures. They don’t look particularly remarkable; they never got any of the dramatic rolling that a lot of the product photos tend to show (maybe because they just fit funny). I can take some later this week probably, if I can find the boots. -
Feels funny to me that you think of the ‘51 as trim and still comfortably wear the Saddle Pants. I was never able to get the Saddle Pants up over my thighs at any reasonable waist size, but my ‘51 fit me with a good amount of room to spare.

Really dope. Looks like different hardware on yours, and a darker corduroy, but overall really similar. Excited to see one with the tag still present, in any case—I’ll have to do some googling & see if I can find any of that model that shipped with these details to confirm.

SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)

They’re sized really funny, in my experience. The last is on the wide end and is sorta shapeless? I’m a Brannock 11 C-D (EU 44, UK 10 narrow, 10.5D in most US boots), and I had to size down to a 9.5 in the M-43 for them to not feel ultra sloppy; at that point my toes were dangerously close to the front of the boots, and they still had more volume and less support than I would have liked. Meanwhile, even with my toes that far forward, my balls seemed to sit at exactly the expected point. Overall a really weird last. I really got the impression they were just sort of meant to fit sloppy on most standard feet. I wore them hard for 3+ years, because I didn’t really know any better at the time (and they did look nice and hold up great), but looking back now I never should have taken them out of the store. To be clear, I don’t think I have particularly weird shaped feet or anything, besides being around half a size narrow—I’ve rarely had issues finding shoes that fit well in the last few years since learning what to look for—I think the Lofgrens are just funky. -
Picked this up on Yahoo for my partner and I’m mega jealous No idea when it’s from; I don’t recognize the buttons from any of my M-series Lee’pro jeans. Thoughts / references? I don’t recognize the denim itself, either, but that’s no surprise. The liner feels like cotton / poly (oh well), and it’s done proper, built as it’s own almost-jacket and just connected to the denim at the waist, collar, front plackets, cuffs—no shared seams on the body or sleeves

I’ve been wearing mine around half the time for the last couple of weeks, splitting time with the S601XX First “modern” SC jeans I’ve had in a while, since the lot 401 (ca. 2017–2019), and I’m really pleased with them. The fit is perfect, less slim than the Hawaii and the Okinawa

^ All you have to do is unbutton the back, then everyone can see your tee -
^ That shirt is phenomenal. Would be glad to see more detail shots of it if & when you get the chance

They def. feel like they taper more through the lower leg than the ‘51 or the 601rb

@Broark They just had maybe 10 pairs of jeans for sale leftover from Inspiration; most sold in the first few minutes I guess. There were also a couple of the canvas hunting vests on display (not for sale), and one in a lightweight denim that they said they were gonna be starting production on soon (!). Incidentally, Ryo was wearing his 507XX and I asked if they were planning on making more at some point; he said hopefully yeah

Really like the new bandanas, but they’re too big to feel practical, for me. I have a couple in that format from Two Ears Brand, and they’re super cool designs & well executed prints but they just don’t see that much use in practice
