SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)
julian-wolf replied to minya's topic in superdenim
@l13902733261 Ironing will flatten it out no problem, but if the creasing is caused by the pants being tapered enough towards the hem that the cuff is bunching up the fabric above it then it’ll likely come back before long -
For a more formal look you shouldn’t be wearing Paraboots…
-
Really excited to hear your impressions on the Limmer boots; I’ve been admiring those as a possibility for a long time

I’d say a 34 in standard Cane’s is about the same in the waist as a 33 in Freewheelers, although maybe borderline They seem to have pretty consistent sizing across their main offerings, but the MiUSA run very small, so it wouldn’t be too surprising if this new line was sized differently too…

SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)

What about the 13MWZ doesn’t work for you? Are you just looking for a fancier alternative? -
Thanks, all! @beautiful_FrEaK Yeah, all repairs done by me so far
-
Couple action shots of the M41057 from yesterday, since it came up…
-
1001XX still going strong List of repairs now includes front left pocket bag + pocket opening, rear right pocket, right side of crotch (both panels), & lots of replaced stitching; next on the list will be front right pocket opening, rear left pocket, and button holes Saturation and contrast are about right, but the color balance is way off in most of the photos; they aren’t nearly so gray looking in person. The closest to true are the photos looking up the legs from the hems and the full back shot.
-
@beautiful_FrEaK No, didn’t get a chance to take any photos before I started wearing them, but planning to after their first wash More and more over the past year or so I’ve been feeling like the M41058 are my favorite jeans I’ve ever worn, and really really wishing that another pair would show up in good condition—& last month they did! These are 2 sizes larger than my other pair, but I’m around 1 size larger than I was when I got the others, so it evens out okay… The comparison between old and new is stark: this denim takes a while to show wear, but really ages aggressively after a certain point

@Hopethisoneisnttaken The crotch & butt tore through on the M41200 in 4 places just a couple of weeks ago. I’m planning on doing pretty comprehensive repairs (they’ve treated me too well for too long for me to want to just let them die), and will try & post some before and after photos I’ve also been putting a good amount of climbing wear into a pair of M41057, which are absolute favorites (I still have a dead stock pair that I’m saving for a rainy day, but found a good deal on a second pair in my size that had been hemmed short & very lightly worn and I couldn’t resist), and a pair of M41119 that are midway through repairs right now for holes on the knees They work great for it
-
^ don’t patch the crotch of your jeans w/ an extra 18 oz. of fabric; they’ll be too stiff to ever drape right again Use a muslin or a light chambray or similar

Didn’t know about the WW model—when did this come out?? Always wanted to try their jeans but was put off by the vanishingly low rises; am probably gonna have to give these a go How’s their sizing, in general? Charts would seem to say I should go for my usual size?

SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)

Filson wool blankets are still a great option, modern clothing quality + prices aside -
Freewheelers, Bootleggers Reunion, Bubo, etc.

Got lucky & came across an old stock classic Painted Desert shirt in my size—something I’d been after since needing to get rid of the wool blend version that shrunk up all wonky No decent photos, yet, but here’s a selfie from the market Fits perfect, really excited to put some wear into it- 4385 replies

Yeah, they chose a really bad model for those 3
-
Also: really interested in finding out which facilities are producing the Alaska Sleeping Bag pieces

The ‘46 is pretty seriously tempting, although at that price it’s a bit hard to swallow Meanwhile, on the other end of things, the blanket lined Type II seems like an absolute steal

Yeah, glad to see a few of those long-locked 10+-year-old threads unpinned too—they were always just taking up space Thanks! -

They’ll still pucker up fine after the first few washes -
Freewheelers, Bootleggers Reunion, Bubo, etc.

I’ve been really tempted by the vest version The jacket would be a lot more appealing to me if not for the pen pocket and the other small pocket right below it—I have trouble imagining what I’d ever use either of those for in practice -
Hmm they have some of Denime listed for 50% off too, plus those great TFH sneakers What’s the catch? Has anyone ordered from Myu before?
