  1. Slightly better value than these 1922s with all labels, buttons, tags, etc in Japanese (they did this on another pair a couple of years ago) for a mere £495!
  2. That would be Shinya Mills c/o: Paul T interview with Full Count’s Miki-san
  3. Looks good Charlie and he’s caught the sunset on those (sandstone?) walls very nicely. The second photo is a proper 1980s catalogue pose. Straight outta Freemans!
  4. Agreed, not everyone is the same shape or likes the same fit. I always thought a good contest would’ve been an SDA 10* one where the participants could choose a fit from say 101, 103 or 106 (wide -> slim). I’ve excluded the less common models such as 102, etc for simplicity.
  5. Unboxing is a subset of the denim-fading event. It’s how it begins when competitors receive their new IOC approved jeans at the starting line and rush to the nearest watercourse to soak them.
  6. I heard they’re going to have a denim-fading event in the next Olympics, at the expense of boxing.
  7. @bod my 1955s from 2007 have a blank top button and as you can see above, the flasher says 1996, so hopefully that will set your mind at ease. They have no pocket bag print either. I also have a 2009 pair of 55s in the stash (raw with tags) that I can pull out and check at some point.
  8. Looks like something Houdini would escape from
  9. Is it a little lighter there?
  10. Nice write-up. If you want to really pucker those hems, just dip them in boiling water for a few minutes and watch the roping accelerate.
  11. I think it’s probably been posted numerous times on this thread as it’s a great photo. If anyone cares to read from the beginning and count, please verify 😆
  12. If 40cm across is what you’re looking for, then the 31s should probably stretch out 2” in total (from 37.5cm) to that. If you were hoping for a pair that’d start at 40cm and then stretch beyond that, then the 31s will probably be too small. Either way, the 34s are likely to be too big.
  13. ^ Probably those or Sugar Cane 47s.
  14. Excellent! Is it easy to install a new battery? I have a couple of dead iPods (2nd and 4th Gen).
  15. I haven’t washed it yet but when I do, it’ll probably be at 30°C with a spin and hang dry. I don’t want any further shrinkage if possible.
  16. ^ The only other reference point I have is a TCB Seamen’s jacket (which fits but I’ve never worn) in size 38 whilst my 30s jacket is size 42. Although completely different styles, they both feel of a similar size (ie both should have the same size label in them) if that makes sense. I originally had a size 40 in the 30s jacket, which I wore for a couple of years but it just felt too small, particularly when done up so I sold it and bought a 42. I only wear it as a summer jacket with a t-shirt underneath, it would be too snug to later with a sweatshirt or jumper, if I’d wanted to do that I’d have bought a 44. It’s a great jacket though, I’m very happy with it.
  17. I have a 30s jacket and I can tell you the denim is blooming nice!
  18. Jim Moir aka Vic Reeves (on Celebrity Masterchef).
  19. You may have someone who is a measured 34” waist who wears size 32” jeans (which start out at 34”, shrink to 32” and stretch back to 34” if required) and therefore considers themself as a ‘true’ 32!
