    Denime

This is interesting. XX denim for the new 220s were my first Denimes. After wearing for 1 month it looked like I had been wearing for 4-5 months, not what I was looking for and I sold the jeans. Unlikely I would try the label again.
  2. Does anyone have thoughts about glasses? Frame materials that last and age well? Brands or stores to buy from? I usually get around 2 years out of my glasses before they are trash, would like more. I don't know anything on this subject.

I always liked the way Brando wore this brand new 101j too. Huge shoulder.

Good warning and also true to how the vintage jacket fits. Always been a tricky jacket to size because of the strong taper. Usually worn open, bottom unbuttoned, or big drop shoulder. TCB's repro is somewhat elongated, which makes this taper even more noticeable. Here's mcqueen squeezing into one. Looks uncomfortable. But looks cool here with it open

  6. edit: claimed. I have a 20% discount coupon for Kamakura Shirts online store that is valid until September 30th. It's possible that it's linked to my account but I'm not sure. DM me if you would like to try it.

Thanks for the stockist links. I don't know these shops.

I am searching myself for equal restraint... The shipping cost is reasonable and understandable but I'll probably make fewer transactions and be less likely to pick up smaller items like shirts. That's probably for the best, for me and maybe for them as well. They are in an interesting place with international sales now though. AFAIK they no longer have any retailers in North America. This didn't matter much before, because the direct to consumer prices were so good and the shipping was fast and free. That equation has changed a bit over the last couple of years and it feels like they are turning more towards their domestic market. I hope they will have a relationship with a US stockist eventually like what they do with Second Sunrise, but maybe that's not their interest.

I just noticed that TCB charges for overseas shipping now. I was so used to free shipping I didn't even notice that I paid it on my last order.
  10. Hinoya also sells it as 3L. The tag size is 18-18.5.
  11. That's definitely a thing. That's Jake's house style. Kamakura is good for this too, and if you find it too slim fitting then go to Jake's.
  12. Just to throw a few more brands in the mix which are my favorites and what I wear after cycling through a lot of options: https://oconnellsclothing.com/ (heavyweight, american style, classic. Ask about sizing if you're interested.) https://www.jakesldn.com/store (more refined lighter weight oxford. Premium shirts that are cut and sewn MTO by two guys who seem very nice. ) https://eworkers.blogspot.com/ (classic shape with shorter length, casual and relaxed, looks good untucked.)
  13. To me it's like jeans without rivets. True that there is a historic precedent, but it's not what we think of as the classic look and doesn't have any modern cultural meaning.
  14. Are you looking for a specific style or fit for your oxfords alec? Kamakura and Far East are both slim fitting on the oxford spectrum. Both have six button fronts, but the buttoning point for kamakura is a little higher and more classic looking. The far east shirts I've seen have no breast pocket which looks very wrong. Oxfords are a topic everyone has strong feelings about and the answer as always is whichever one you feel best in and are excited to wear.

I think it's cool to get a dart or other modification done. It's in the spirit of the reproduction, it's what people would have done at the time. You'll have a one of a kind pair and fade. If you're into that kind of thing.

Curious if you've tried taking to a tailor to have your jeans darted before. You should have good options in Chicago. I've never heard of railcar's downsizing service. I just looked at it and see that they advertise it as better than darting, but I'm not sure what's wrong with a good old dart.
  18. Thanks for letting me know! The DD flannels is nice. be warned it has a narrower sleeve than warehouse's other flannels which can be a sticking point.
  19. Cool sunlight fade on this turmeric dyed cardigan. Hard to get my phone camera not to smooth out the contrast, I pushed the saturation to better represent how it looks in person. Inside vs outside Armpit Inside the pocket.
  20. I've listed some Warehouse flannels and a chambray on my ebay. I've finally accepted that I am a non-existent size 44. Warehouse Flannel XL - Red and White Warehouse Flannel XL - Blue and Brown Duck Digger Flannel 42 - Green and Gold Duck Digger Chambray 42 - Twisted Heather

    Vintage Denim?

I would gamble that they were going for a look. I worked blue collar for 10 years before I went white collar. Everyone wore double knee carhartts and extra tuffs but we were very stylish. All of the most stylish guys I've known were from that time in my life. Something about truly collaborative work, being part of a team brings it out in guys. Just a hunch from me but I bet that's never changed. When guys get together we like to dress.

I checked the chart and I would definitely take a 36 for myself in the new 40s. Looks great. Just what I needed ....

It looks good on you. imo all that matters is a) are you comfortable and b) do you feel cool. If both are true you will wear them and get a good fade! if not they will sit in a drawer and you can ebay them in 1-2 years.
