YMMV but to me this says the cut just isn’t what you’re after. Yes, jeans are not tailored garments and close enough is usually enough but there are jeans that have those fuller legs without the sloppy waist, (like Tender 132/ or FC 0105 or many others) they’re just not the 40s.

That looks good @fabes. I ended up with a few more 170s in different colors. Really like them. They’ll be my staple from here on out I think. My 175s are perfect for a more slouchy sort of deal.

@Double 0 Soul I would agree that the online world of that is ridiculous! However, one not need to be a part of that to have something better than instant. I took a set it and forget it approach, personally. (Comparison being the thief of joy and all). Found an affordable and solid espresso machine and good local beans, and a good travel solution (that’s the picopresso). Haven’t much messed with that for years now. The biggest thing is just buying good beans and grinding them before brewing. Anyways, much as I love coffee, I wouldn’t be surprised if I don’t drink it at all in a few years. This last round without caffeine has been easier than previous ones and I think it has a net negative for me. Without coffee, I sleep better and am less stressed, which is a bit of a bummer but hard to argue with.

@jeash90 nothing fancy. Just a breville express. Or honestly I use a picopresso and hand grind a lot of the time when I want a different bean than is in the hamper of the breville. While I enjoy it quite a bit let’s say I get more finicky with denim ha. @MJF9 chemex is definitely my preferred way to go if I’m doing normal coffee.

^ ha. This is what’s in our house. To be honest, I am an espresso guy. It’s all I tend to have. Pulling my shot in the morning is one of life’s primary pleasures. On occasion an Americano but not often. If I have coffee at all - usually out of necessity - it’s black. That said, I try to take some time off from caffeine about twice a year and am currently about 3 weeks (caffeine) sober, so my wife suggested some tea out of this powder. I don’t mind it. Still miss my espresso though, but I may try this in a (coffee) drink once I fall off the wagon again. Let me also register a dissenting opinion from above. Cinnamon improves a great many things!

I can't do it. I've got one pair that's sized up two, effectively, and I like it once in awhile but at some point IMO you start to get away from how the jeans come to look good in the long run - that is a timeless, very flexible fit that can be worn almost all of the time. You have to really commit to the whole bit to pull off this look - and more power to the people that can do it for long enough to get it looking really good. I always just revert to the mean of wanting to be wearing at least somewhat properly sized things.

Whew! What a bit of history. Sorry to hear how it ended, but glad the crew here has some life. Honestly the sanest tiny corner of the internet I ever did find, though I know it didn’t used to be so.

I've only been hazily focused at best since May, wearing my 01's on average maybe 3-4 days a week. I made my FW 51's the main before that, and I really like where they're at right now - my OA's are only just starting to show some signs and it feels like it's been ages! Hoping they pick up steam soon... Meanwhile I acquired enough stock to last me a solid decade if I can just keep my size in check (maybe unlikely).

Three months for me to continue to work in my OA 01's as best I can so they don't go on hiatus looking too new, which they still do! Need to stop rotating in the others.

Reddit (like a lot of social media) tends to really sort of reward and incentivize some pretty antisocial behavior. That coupled with it's just mostly not my taste, I think it's fine to leave well enough alone here!

^ This is interesting to me because basically, same. I’ve been running in unpadded/barefoot shoes for nearly 15 years now - totally changed my running posture for the better and alleviated any knee and back issues. It’s a reason I never fully got into the boots and still wear birks most of the time. The less in the sole the better, minus some protection. I generally don’t like the raised heel and hours with it hurts my back, if I could find nicer footwear with zero drop I’d be interested, but I’ve just never much like the moccasin aesthetic.

Well, I did lock in and DM my choice after my last post, but I do want to say...at least for us...more options here with the jeans than when we bought a house!

My logic is just to go by your OA size, if you know it. Which is 2 up from your normal size in like sugar cane or Freewheelers. It seems Simone uses the same logic in sizing as they do (size for raw rather than shrunk), which is really easy enough. I wear my 01s in a 31 but the top block is more on the snug side, my less stress (in life and on the jeans) size is invariably 32. My canes and fw are 30. But I do like me some oversized sometimes, which is why I’m torn on 33 or 32 but if I were set on going for a good traditional fit I would definitely go 32. Probably for some the top block is more limiting factor than waist just bc waist can stretch more easily. in conclusion, this is pretty easy! And I don’t know what I’m doing still.

That’s a lot of choices! I’m thinking 611 in size 33 for me, with a desired end length of 30. But I’ve got to pore over the measurements/models to be sure. Thanks for doing this.

Before I came to the personal conclusion that I’d prefer Freewheelers in this realm (not to knock on WH, as I said it was just a personal thing), I tried to understand this. Then I gave up. I did preorder one WH thing this year because it was pretty unique - but it was a one off jacket and I just went by measurements and product description, which is what I’d do if I ever bought their jeans again because I’m not sure if WH even knows their labeling system at this point.
