Not too often I've a record of myself made by someone else but my friend got me over the weekend in a FW Tux. jacket is the s516xx and 601 1951's I just posted in the FW thread.

Kirk in Gunpowder. I wore these for these probably 3-4 months straight about 2 years ago, they got dirty and I tried to spot clean some areas which just really took off the dye in a noticeable way. After that I said screw it and just wore and washed like any other clothes and they were my main jeans for a few months when I was learning ceramics. Rolled with the marbling and everything. They’re beater jeans now but I actually like them more than ever at the moment. These were really slow to shrink - to the point that I was not actually believing they were unsanforized (still not sure) - but they did end up shrinking about 2” in the inseam and definitely a bit all over after all.

S601xx 1951 with probably about 6-7 months of real wear. Didn’t wash until about 3-4 months, quite frequently after that. I think this is a better denim to wash a lot. Not the one you want for really defined fades (good with me!). The puckering one the yoke is my favorite probably.

@chicotei saw both of those ha. Alas I think I’m gonna go for a 2 and that dark emperor one is just a little too much. There are some on grailed but for the prices ppl want it seems I can almost get a new one. Time to keep an eye out w intention.

If there's one hole in my wardrobe it's that of an oversized parka that I can throw on over the pullover/denim jacket deal I have so often. I'm looking at getting a ring coat but they seem to come in so many different fabrics and configuration. A melton one is my preference but a moleskin one seems the simplest way to go - don't want denim. Anyone know how often this thing is iterated and released? I'm in no hurry and up for buying used. I'm also a little worried about it being comically large if I go with my normal size (2), because really it's only my chest and shoulders that are a 2 and my sleeve/torso length tend to be closer to a small.

It’s not a repro jacket, but Companion Denim’s interpretation is sort of cut like a type 3 with a hybrid between 2/3 sort of details. Mine is heretically sanforized old stock Cone denim with poly stitching, but it’s really nicely done. It’s my slimmest jacket which is the main reason I’m not in it more often, but it still fits and still gets good use. If I wanted a longer/slimmer jacket I’d probably look at type 3 iterations generally. I’m 5’8”, 150 lb, with a 40” chest and 30” waist and I’ve found that while I can wear the slimmer things, the boxier versions give me more room around/chest shoulders which is why I prefer them - probably a bit opposite of you. I will say my Sugar Cane 1953 (I have the blanket lined) in size 38 works pretty well for me, but I wish it were about an inch or so shorter in the body. Again, that’s a point in your favor.
