  2. I was never much of a drinker - seeing that in your extended family growing up can do that to a person, coupled with either being blessed or cursed with low tolerance. (I consider it a blessing) But we've got a lot of NA options now too which is great for some people I know, and myself, honestly, as I'll choose NA probably 60-70% of the time. But yea, the price of those things is bananas! Still, I'm glad to see more options that really do make the social occasions easier for so many. Coffee, now I have a more contentious relationship with that drug.

    Warehouse

They were one wash. But a different denim. A 14.5oz one that’s seldom used I believe. Not sure if their others would behave that way but my guess is if so it would be sort of common knowledge. My first few washes were all warm so I was surprised at how many it took to get the shrink out - which was noticed mostly in the thighs and in the length, maybe 5 or so.

Why get a cut where you have to size up for room in the seat, as opposed to a cut where it is right for you with the waist that fits? My experience w Warehouse is limited to one pair and I took them in a 29 whereas I am more commonly a 30, but they shrunk (even after one wash) so continuously for so long I wish I'd taken a 30 now. That said, it's just a preference, they fit well all around still and definitely don't feel sized down. I just like looser stuff now.
  5. Looks like plain weave, so yes chambray. YMMV but I’d prefer that over denim pockets.
  6. ^ https://www.bluey.tv/ I might not know if I weren’t a dad to a four year old. That said, the show transcends age!
  7. I'll be honest, the discernible lack of flare makes those just about the best bootcuts I've seen for my tastes - or the closest to anything I'd ever consider personally. I mean, just the term bootcut feels like an allergic trigger for me. But these are Bob's. No one's gonna be Bob.
  8. I had the same t shirt as you around that same year. Mine was black though. Anyways, good stuff.
  9. I have the 51’s and it’s essentially the same cut. Same size.
  10. My Mister Freedoms have respectably deep pockets. Freewheelers not quite as much but as much as I need. The perfect balance. The king of pocket depth and durability is Tender. Ooe’s pockets leave me with no gripes. Warehouse, TCB, Fullcount all leave something to be desired. My one pair of Sugar Canes are a special edition but those are sturdy and deep enough, can’t say I know the standard cuts though.
  11. Sheesshhhh, that looks grim. I know a lot of communities have run to other services like Discord and whatnot, but from a philosophical standpoint I just hate the idea of having a community function at the whims of a large tech effort that can change anything at any point for any reason. Being part of an individual effort has its perils (see Denimbro), but that is the stuff where the internet is/was good. Once everything’s centralized under corporate efforts, as it mostly is already, it’s just gone to total shit IMO. This is really the last social internet venue I frequent for some of these reasons, it would suck to see it hampered by some misbegotten bill. Always felt like the enshittification of it all was brought about by tech but it seems that government could be the final nail. Cool cool cool. Nice teamwork between church and state.
  12. They’ve been fine for me. I would guess they’ll come through soon.
  13. I’ve got some screened arcs on a pair of WW2 jeans that are in the vault. I was going to break them out for the next pair but then this WOM contest turned into a thing so it’s gonna be some year(s) I think till they get any wear.
  14. I think there’s a lot to writer Colin Woodard’s theory that the US is really best thought of something more like 11 countries with distinct regional cultures depending on who colonized and settled an area and when. This gets obscured by the structure of the 50 states and federal government but when thought of this way and then considering things like The Troubles and other armed struggles within smaller countries I think Americans can start to look a little more…well, sort of unsurprising I guess.
  15. Just a few points of curiosity to note. I’m partly of Appalachian Ohio/Kentucky stock. Didn’t grow up there, but have lived there for a time and visited often and still have family there. I’ve also lived in North Carolina (central NC), and from what I’ve experienced of Texans and Texas I am surprised to see a comparison brought to the Appalachian culture. To my mind there have always been at least three versions of the South (if Appalachian is to be Southern - I’d contend it’s not). @Cold Summer - basically what I’m saying is that I find it novel for a native Houstonian to identify with this! I’d much more expect this part of Texas to breed a sort of simpatico ethos with what I found in central NC - which I would agree is different from the Deep South Alabama/Mississippi etc. Anyways, being a photographer, I (a good while back now) photographed abandoned properties in rural Appalachia - driving down hollers traipsing through old places by my own, sometimes I’m thank my stars I too do not resemble a colander. Though I also primarily was out to meet and speak with people - which is perhaps what ultimately kept me safe. Stranger though I’d be and distrustful of outsider with camera that they were, I think even fifteen years ago things were different, safer. Distrust seems to be quite high now - higher even, for whatever reasons (and I can think of plenty), and it’s a real shame. I do think most people are good people - and that’s probably evidenced in part by the fact that I’m not dead despite repeatedly popping up as a curious stranger in places where it would be least expected - where the shotguns in closets probably outnumbered the people 3 to 1. But it sure is nice to not really have to worry about that so much. Huh, guess I still rambled some.
  16. Visiting Scotland last summer and going on long walks and runs and understanding the right to roam was really a nice reprieve from some of the pathology we have here.
  17. All of that info and no measurements? somehow I think Kurt would be rolling in his grave seeing this.
  18. I'm not a big belt wearer in general, but wearing it with the cinch is self-defeating to my mind. The cinch backs I have are actually all slightly to moderately oversized at the waist even, and cinch works well enough for me on them all.
  19. Yep - I would file a chargeback on your credit card. Even though it’s been awhile you’re probably still in the grace period. I know that doesn’t get your Levi’s back. Edit - I will say that USPS tracking can sometimes be fickle and report an item as delivered a day or two (or even three) before it gets there. I would enter the tracking myself and contact your local usps office and wait a few more days first. Not that it seems that WGC has earned the benefit of the doubt here, but USPS really could be in error at the moment.

  21. ugh, the site is infested with those. i've gotten it for almost every item i've ever listed.
  22. Yea can I print out a headline page from the online paper because whew I’m not sure where I can grab one. I’m sure somewhere but … I’m not that sure!
  23. Trying to think of the appropriate response. I’m not great at internet subtext and sarcasm. Anyways, as much as I love pants, cool people are way better than cool pants.
  24. ^ Yea, hard for me to have love lost for the sorts of blogs that operate that way.
