Freewheelers, Bootleggers Reunion, Bubo, etc.

I’ve found non-wash FW denim always shrinks to tag size after a good soak in warm~hot water, then a machine wash (or two) … normally I machine wash at 40°C However, sometimes I’ve skipped the soak and put them straight into the washing machine - turned out the same, again after a couple of wash cycles -

Denim Blunders, Reflections and General Nonsense.

When we were very little we (as a family) were visiting a friend of my mum. They had a Border Terrier that was a never trained and a bad tempered thing. My sister was about 3 or 4 and came out of the kitchen with a biscuit (for herself) and it ran over to her to get it, she pulled her hand away and it snapped at her and bit her face. Without a word, my dad picked the dog up by the throat, took it out the room and broke its neck. We never went back to that house. -

So anything really? Maybe you could try some of the english gentlemen’s attire shops like Cordings? https://www.cordings.co.uk/menswear/accessories/scarves -

What material? That’s probably the main aspect -

Gotcha … yeah they’ve never followed that pattern. Some years there’s denim (and could be lots of it) to absolutely nothing. Same with sweats, and so on .. -
Bit late I guess, but (and it’s been a while) SC I’ve always found be reliable and consistent in sizing. I remember way back comparing to FW and as others have said they are very similar … perhaps just a touch smaller than FW, and that could be pattern as much as anything Warehouse on the other hand are nearly always about a half to one size smaller than FW in my experience

No denim in the upcoming season except what might be included in the permanent collection -
I appreciated the thought and the opportunity Neal Describing those purple accents on the setup shouldn’t work in my mind but seeing it proves how good it does look

SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)

Both Filson and BdC are overpriced. BdC sell with their ‘artisan’ story to allow you to believe things are handmade, and Filson who are ‘rugged’ I’ve got a small Filson hold-all. Whoever made it had their eyes shut when they did, but the materials are so robust it has lasted despite being crude. -

Do you find Filson expensive compared to Bleu de Chauffe because Filson is canvas? I think BdC bags are fairly expensive for machine stitched non-specified leather (albeit I don’t doubt it’ll be decent quality being veg tan) -
Thank you very much - I guess leather is leather regardless of the shape or application. Not much difference from a belt to a bag strap to these. And yes, that little hole is there for exactly the reason you’ve stated. Probably not necessary but there’s no reason for a shortcut

A pair of braces / suspenders made of crust cowhide from a long shut tannery (the straps) and crust calfskin (the ‘rabbit ears’ and attachments) and decorated with a couple of antique silver Japanese coins The cowhide is a real old fashioned pit liming and tanning - some of the hide still had hair on. It’s amazing stuff, nothing like it and never will be again.

Freewheelers Brakeman in 13oz cotton/linen denim - amazing details and a fabric that FW never used again

The word industrial is just sales patter - if it’s pressed then it’s steel, that’s the norm. It’ll explain the price if it suits your purpose 👍

Not sure what kind of ‘experience’ you’re meaning but the buckle looks similar in style to those used by The Flat Head, Real McCoys etc. Probably Himeji leather. If it’s a genuine pressed steel buckle then those are more expensive than brass or zamak

Wickett & Craig harness, nickel plated steel spots and jewel rings, vintage glass and a western style buckle set really happy to be able to squeeze enough detail for a name on a 1 inch strap
