Any idea or pictures how the okinawas with tab looked like? Did they have arcs or the sashiko “arcs“ they have nowadays. Found a pair with red tab reading “canes“ on grailed, but they have sashiko “arcs“, as they have now, and am not sure about the authenticity and if they're worth the price.

@vIGGiou riou once you wash 'em, they'll come alive. They react really well to frequent washing.

Just washed my pair again and found out they have a hole and another one forming in the right front pocket where I keep my phone.
Welp, gotta patch that up, happens on every pair I got after about one month.

Alright thanks guys! I'm used to wider cuts, so I might look at the 3005 as well. What's the consensus on sizing? One up from the usual?

The 3009 would be considered the most traditional straight cut from the flat head, am i right? Been thinking about a pair nowadays.

Nice! I'll check it out

Has one of you seen the type 2 in okinawa/hawaii denim? Been thinking about it, after i got a tax return, but am not sure if it's not too loud.
Specifically these: http://pants-shop-avenue.com/item/SC10701/?mode=pc

(cross post from WAYDWT) State of the mystery jeans.
Btw. those Seasir Jeans look great @Broark, especially with the double tab on the back pocket.7 -
Had to wash the contest jeans, so I pulled out the mystery jeans for the time being:

Quite tempted to get a pair, they are a great cut!

Are those supposed to be a 551z or a 502 repro? Been looking for something along those lines for a while now.

Yeah, first thing I did. And already twice at 40 degrees with the full spin cycle. Maybe I'll try 60 or 90 degrees the next time, depending on how filthy they'll be.

You seem to have way more leg twist than I do. I hoped for something along the lines of yours

Been at my parents two weeks ago to dogsit and got new hiking boots, Meaning I got to hike around the black forrest with my dog.
Here are the jeans after about 2 weeks.
And last week I spent 3 days hiking the "Heilbronner Weg" with a few mates from Uni. They say, it's the highest alpine hiking trail in Germany.

You often get leg twist in sanforized denim, just not as strong as in unsanforized denim. It has quite a few factors afaik, with sanforization, tension while sewing and “unravelling“ of the threads in the denim over time all playing a role. But that's only stuff I read once and not actual science.
