With age comes wisdom Charlie.. You've just got to draw a line at some point and for me that point is around 22° .. our weather is glorious and i want to appreciate it as much as possible (our summers used to be awful, we were lucky to get a week without rain) i will appreciate the sunshine more if im wearing a pair of shorts and a t-shirt.. i will appreciate it a lot less if i'm uncomfortably hot, sweating my ass off in a pair of jeans.. I've done it before.. i used to hike the Peaks wearing jeans, vintage repro work boots and mil-repro jacket.. looks cool (from a certain perspective) but in reality i was wearing entirely the wrong clothing for my environment.. i'd be dry and comfortable if i was wearing gore.. so why are you not wearing gore?.. oh yeah, because you're a fkin idiot who cares more about his jeans than his own comfort.. would you wear jeans on the beach while all other folks are in shorts and bikinis? .. well no because it's 30°+ .. well, it's 30°+ everywhere at the moment I appreciate that wearing denim 24/7 gets you nice fades but if the flip is making yourself uncomfortably hot while others are enjoying the sunshine, there is nothing cool about that..

Wow! .. jeans in this weather, I haven’t worn a pair of jeans since around May My kid has a very similar shirt, it was only £8 from the vintage joint.. he said to me “dad, can you get me a grass hula skirt, I’m going to a Hawaiian party” .. yeah ok when is it? “Erm, Thursday” .. this was a Tuesday night He wore my vintage floral Stussy shorts instead with a Hawaiian shirt from the vintage joint and a string of flowers around his neck Its a great shirt though.. he’s incorporated it into his summer wardrobe..

This^ totally tracks.. we went to play tennis this morning at 11.30am.. it was so flipping hot my brain wouldn't function properly.. first set got to 5-5 and i couldn't even keep the score, we only played for an hour and had to keep sitting in the shade.. i've been for a 4hr bike ride this aftrnoon and felt fine.. When we were on the tennis court, the offspring told me that there are a lot of American tourists on Tik Tok complaining about the crazy stifling heat in the UK.. even though, the temps are lower than in the US.

Word of Mouth - The Crust & Fades Contest

Yep I'd guess on those instances where the rust shows in spots it's due to the warm water dissolving the sweaty fingers salt deposits on the button.. concentrating them within the last drop of water to evapourate.. leaving a spot which is more prone to rust. -

Guys.. it's less to do with the water and more to do with the salt content in your sweat, the spices in the foods you eat and where your fingers and body have left sweat / salt deposits on the ferrous. A chap i used to work with.. all of his carbon steel carving tools were black.. mine are all silver.. one day, i was struggling to develop a shape i couldn't visualise.. he said pass me your gouge.. i handed it to him and he took it by the blade, he started to carve out the shape and handed it back.. the next day, his fingerprints were rusted into the steel.. i was pissed but 30yrs after his death, i still have his fingerprints rusted into my carving tool which i find quite poignant.- 1308 replies

SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)

That would be £800 with border charges applied, between £500 and £600 without. If president man-baby gets his way, you too could experience these import joys.. I do think they're worth it though @CSL ... the finish and level of craftsmanship is superb, they still feel brand new. The difference between these and factory produced acetate frames is like night and day.. the only thing i have which comes anywhere close is my c1960 MiA Rayban Caribbean but even those are not in the same ballpark.. not even close! i'll post up some photos and dimensions over the weekend. -
Did emailing them work out?

SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)

Hi Carl, I have the exact same issue and i had the same conversation with b_F only a few weeks ago.. i might be able to help, the reason i persuaded him to try Japan Rabbit was.. around a year ago, i found these frames by Hakusan Megane. They're the T-Jerry's (or Jerry's) ..but they're not cheap at around £5-600 on the auction sites (they haven't been in production for many years so it's worth waiting for a good pair) .. meaning they would hit the UK border at £800, i'd struggle to get my money back should i not be entirely happy with them.. I'm in a health scheme so i get my cost of optical back.. therefore i can buy a pair of fancy frames and my health scheme covers the cost of an eye test and replacement lenses every 12mths... i've been wearing the same frames for the last 7yrs so over that time.. it spreads the cost. They have the wired cushions at the nose.. ..which i need for all frames, for one it stops them constantly slipping down my face but for me.. i have a slightly wonky nose therefore, to enable me to sit the glasses symmetrically on my face, i have to move one cushion slightly in and one cushion out.. i can't do this with most acetate frames so i don't but them for reading glasses. I found a similar looking pair at our local opticians without the wired nose cushions.. and took all the sizes.. measuring them up accordingly to see if they would suit me.. but if you want to wait for actual dimensions.. the glasses should land here at some point next week. -

My kid and 5 or 6 of his mates walked to Hathersage last night, played some pool, got burgers at the pub then got the last bus home.. while walking through Burbage, he said "Ooh! the bilberries are out' and his mates were like.. what the fuck! .. what the hell are you doing?! don't eat random berries! I asked him if they ate some after they'd seen you do it.. "no they wouldn't touch them" Kids today eh?

It looks like the weather is going to turn to shit this weekend so i took today off.. God damn neighbours put this Furby under their tree before they moved back to Holland.. it's been out through the winter yet, 2yrs later and it still speaks, it scares the shit out of me! ..early game of tennis.. my kid has been working on the allotments this week, doing all the jobs the old folks don't want to do.. digging, strimming, removing brambles and such, he starts at 12.30.. one of the neighbours kids used to do it but he's on a gap year in Bali. I rode through Burbage Through Longshaw ..and past White Edge Lodge, you can rent this joint as a holiday let, It was in the TV adaptation of Jane Eyre White Edge Blacka Moor It's a great year for bilberries.. When i was a kid, my folks would take me, my friends and cousins out bilberry picking, we'd all have a bucket or a Wall's Icecream tub.. there would be a gang of kids on th hillside, our hands stained purple for the week.. they'd make bilberry jam, bilberry cheesecake, bilberry wine.. we'd live off them through the autumn, yet cost of living crisis and the bilberries are going to waste.. ? ..stopped for a pint of Absolution at the Norfolk Arms ..and home

Through the browser. It's pretty much the same as Zen.. only difference i could see, you have to use card because they don't accept PP.. the fees are a lot higher than either Zen or fJ so the saving you make has to offset the increased fees to make it worthwhile. -
Didn't you own the 3 piece duck suit @Dr_Heech ?

Can any footy lads tell me what these are..? I’ve been given them by a friend who works at the restaurant in the Sheffield United ground.. he said ‘do you want some Sheff Utd cycling jerseys for riding to work? I said 'yes please'.. when they arrived, I said ‘they’re not cycling jerseys’ he said .. but they’ll be alright for cycling in tho.. won’t they? .. well, I suppose so but they’re all XL .. He’s given me a bag full, they look brand new. 'Oh, ok, just drop them in at the charity shop' ..but before I do, I just want to know if they’re worth putting on eBay, the last time I bought my kid a AC Milan shirt i didn’t get much change from £100. I know fk all about football, I’ve been scouring google images and they’re not part of the kit.. past or present, so what the hell are they? Ive typed ‘warm up’ and ‘training’ shirt into google images and still no luck.. closest thing I can find is This ? @MJF9 .. @Maynard Friedman any ideas? .. what does RF and JL mean? -

I wish half of that statement was true I told my mum what was happening.. she said, "i'll get your pizzas if you like and you can just collect them from here" No it's ok, i'm a fully grown human being.. i have a wife, i have a kid, i own a home and run a businness.. i'm sure i can deal with this.. Her and her best bud Pat went to check her out last week and both said "wtf! why on earth would he?" -
I don’t mind admitting that I’ve got nowhere near enough swagger to pull them off..

My one slight issue i have with this^ style of footwear, be it Asics, New Balance or what'evs is that most of them look like shit once they’ve been worn in for a few months, whereas a pair of Chucks, AJ1s, Vans for instance get better or should i say.. look no worse at each stage of wear. Take Chucks (basketball / gym shoe style) for instance.. it doesn't matter how fucked this type of shoe gets.. they can be falling to pieces and still look great, you can wear a battered old pair of Chucks and dress them up with a good pair of jeans.. they can always be part of a dope looking outfit, whereas when NBs start to stain and yellow, they could still have years of wear left but even a good pair of jeans can't save them.. and by the time they do have holes, they just make you look down at heal, like you're long overdue a new pair of sneaks.

Never underestimate the power of sufu.. I’m down at Morrisons now, buying pizzas for the weekend.. They have a new touchscreen so I don’t have to engage with the staff.. I just type in my pizza order, go pick up some bits ‘b bobs, call back and collect with no uncomfortable interactions and no anxiety freak outs.. -
