    I wasn’t looking for ‘how to make coffee’ per se.. I was looking for suitable coffee making apparatus bearing in mind that it would only be used once or twice/wk at home.. I battled through the excitable, bearded, tattooed, under shaved, selvedge apron’d click baiters.. to a realm of pseudoscience minimalism with digital weighing scales and atomic clock timers.. ”fk, it’s gone 1second over, shits ruined” I bailed at this point.. what a horrible world it is.. imagine the sub-reddits ..anyway, I thought pourover would be best for my situation, low cost and more importantly, low clean up time.. I can drip it into a glass flask, fill my cup, fill my canteen and head off for a bike ride..

    Yes, it's a double walled stainless flask which holds 400ml of coffee.. i made the coffee at 10am and it was still hot ...ish at 3pm when i finished my ride. As i've mentioned before.. when i was in my late teens - early 20s, i started to suffer from really bad insomnia, to the point where.. if i woke up at 1.30am after 2hrs sleep, i would lay awake till 6am and be exhausted the next day.. so i started going to work when i woke up, even if this was 1am.. While trying to sort this shit out in my early 30s, i stopped drinking coffee for pleasure and just started using instant coffee as wake-up juice.. i ride to work at 6am, make a horrible coffee with 3 of 4 heaped teaspoons of instant in a pint mug.. browse the webz for an hour while i'm drinking it, make another and start some work.. after this second cup, i'll only drink water for the rest of the day.. which means i drink loads of water through the summer but not nearly enough through the winter because it makes me feel cold .. My insomnia has been under control for a good 15yrs now apart from the occasional flare up in times of stress but i still don't drink caffeine after 8am.. The house we stayed in Sicily had a Bialetti pot so i was using that which made my shitty instant taste a whole lot worse when we got back.. i tried to up my coffee game back then but my sense of repulsion towards the online coffee influencers was overwhelming (what a set of fucking wankers coffee peeps are) i couldn't bear it so went back to instant.. ..anywho, family bought me a K6 Kingrinder for xmas along with that^ Velo Canteen and some swanky coffee from https://foundrycoffeeroasters.com/collections/coffee-beans .. i've had a low value parcel of bike bits waiting to be shipped from Zen for some time.. so i'v tagged a Kalita copper dripper onto it.. (they retail for £80 over here, it was £22 from Rakuten) with 200x Kalita filters for £7.19 They're still in Osaka but i'v been making coffee with an old french press this week.. i can't imagine i'll go back to instant after christmas so when the pourover biz arrives, i'll probably take the french press to work.. Next step will be drinking coffee again after 8am.. as any insomnia sufferer will know, it's not the caffeine keeping you awake, it's your brain telling you that you can't sleep because you've stepped out of the parameters you set for yourself..

    Yes tis true.. The model i have is on the cusp of the 2 different hinge mechanisms so i wasn't 100% sure which way to lift the key.. i carefully popped it out with surgical tweezers but it broke this part of the nylon hinge.. ..because it needs lifting over these hooks which you can't see under the key The style of hinge depends on which dirction you lift the key.. I used the tweezers to press the rubber nipple with the key out and the T worked perfectly I bought the replacement and popped it in.. it hasn't seated 100% perfectly because i suspect i have bent one of these^ hooks with my forcefull pressing... but hey, it works. Now the E has stopped working, a friend of mine suggests "given the force/manipulation needed and the fact it's propagated to other keys, he'd be inclined to say the PCB is failing, perhaps even just from old age. I can't complain, its my home mac which i've used trouble free for 12yrs.. i've had 3 windows laptops at work during the same period. ..but I'm going to buy a replacement E on ebay and take it from there because if it was the PCB.. how did the key replacement solve the T issue?

    Can someone offer me some tech advice please? I’ve got a 2012 macbook pro which was working perfectly until recently The letter T stopped working, within 24hrs it went from having to press it 2 or 3 times to get it to register.. to having to apply force and manipulation. I had to copy a ‘t’ and paste it into sentences I thought it could just need a clean so before I popped the key out, I ordered a replacement key and hinge mechanism from eBay.. It was surprisingly clean under there so I gave it a wipe around with IPA and popped the new key back in.. it hasn’t seated perfectly.. I suspect I may have damaged one of the metal prongs which houses the plastic hinge with my forceful pressing. ...anyway, the T is working perfectly again but within 24hrs of this fix, the letter E (2x keys to the left) stopped working so I suspect this isn’t a sticky key issue. Do any tech nerds know what’s causing it?

    In it's essence, it's something we all should support, there have been numerous instances where impressionable children have logged onto fb looking for support with their mental illness and the algorithms have bombarded them with images of self harm and directions to suicide sites which ends with the inevitable.. Zuk ain't going to do shit if it bites into his profits so the government has had to step in.. but being the government, the regulations are poorly thought out and ill conceived.. Tis why you're seeing that c**t Musk's online tirades directed at our PM because his profits margin will slip if people are not given the freedom to convince teenagers to take their own lives. ..and why he's financially supporting that other c**t Farage to spread his hate and division.. Yes @AlientoyWorkmachine 'regulatory capture'.. regulations are introduced which are disproportionate for small players so big players who can meet the costs of protecting themselves control future traffic.
