SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)
Double 0 Soul replied to minya's topic in superdenim
Thanks @Hopethisoneisnttaken Did you ever see the W&A work shoe which Kurt stocked at Faith (Taiwan).. might be a bit before your time in forumland, they had a restocked size 10 in recently.. it's a lovely shoe, especially the brown / ox blood colour. I almost bought a pair many years ago.. then the guys on the IH forum went insane for them after Giles suggested a group buy and it put me off somewhat. -

Regarding MiUK Vs MiAsia Clarks... if we take the longevity of the crepe for instance.. it's just a bunch of latex, formed into a sheet and cut into soles.. With our noticable lack of rubber plantations we will be buying the rubber from abroad.. this isn't going to be liquid rubber.. it will be pre-formed rubber sheet bought from the country of origin... it's cheaper and easier to transport solids than liquids.. plus we would have to set up an expensive manufacturing facility just to make the liquid ingredients into sheet material which could be bought in for a fraction of the cost.. With rubber being so cheap / plentiful.. are we to believe that the Asia made Clarks are cutting corners here and requesting additives be mixed at source into an already cheap rubber material to make increased but poorer quality units? .. or is this just down to rubber being a natural product.. therefore some pairs will be softer, some pairs will be harder and some pairs will last longer than others irrespective of brand or country of manufacture.. also environment.. heat, cold, UVA, rain, frost will all decrease it's lifespan.

I'd pay good money for waffle soled Clarks @Alec Leamas
-
Sorry guys.. i'm out of the convo.. doesn't 84000¥ equate to $545 ? Is the site adding an import tax?
-
Incredible shoes for the money! The only thing standing between Clarks and a pricing upscale is the retail environment.. it's stuck in the 90s.. style classics like Desert boots and Wallabees (or Cornish pasty shoes as my Mrs calls them :) are sharing retail space with orthopedic shoes for pensioners or 'my first shoes' for middle-class toddlers.. if you didn't know the Clarks brand and saw them in a modern retail space (ie 1940s - Mom n'Pop -esque:) .. with some carefully curated blurb, they'd retail for 3x the price they do now..

You're very close.. they're a lot more mainstream than UFO I'll give you a clue.. The album didn't get released outside JP because the samples were never cleared. Here are their other albums.. do any of these ring a bell?

Denim Blunders, Reflections and General Nonsense.

Happy birthday doc! I got a card and a bottle of lychee Mogu Mogu wrapped up like a christmas cracker The card had a very small sketch in one corner of me holding a massive carp.. It was an excerpt from a video Sarah filmed of him catching his first double figures carp age 6 I didn't even take a landing net so i had to wade out and scoop it up in my arms This was what he'd sketched He's not managed to capture the fit of the CSF very well, but he hasn't done bad with the Musto cap. -

Happy Birthday Martin! .. this'll make you laugh! I was just watching Stranger Things with Sarah and the boy came home from school with a parcel, saying excitedly ‘I’ve just found this on the doorstep and it’s addressed to me” he doesn't ordinarily get post. I had a look, it was delivered by RM but the house number was one digit out, the postcode was one letter out and the street name had a spelling mistake.. luckily it got to the right address because when he opened it.. it was a 3D printed butt plug If it would have gone to the wrong address, we'd have to move house! Three of his mates had the idea.. one of them made the packaging in iMedia at school.. i say packaging, it was printed paper wrapped around a box.. one of them 3D printed the plug and one of them posted it. ..the branding is brilliant! certainly on par with any other self respecting purveyors of butt products. Hat's off to them!. it's a genius 21st century schoolboy prank . They all pm'd him out of the group chat to say 'please don't be offended, it was just a joke' which was quite sweet.. we all thought it was hillarious, it's not everyday you see your son opening a box with a butt plug in it. They'd even enclosed a phony receipt, the company address was '1 Oxford Street London' which i immediately googled with zero results before the kid said "it's the lads.. i'm going to fkin kill them! My days.. i love teenagers, they're flipping hilarious! -
I ordered this Phlegm book last week in a frenzied.. fastest finger first purchase It was on the doorstep when i got home Signed copy It's a book his etchings over the last few years Sorry about the low light grainy quality.. i can afford frivolous art books, yet i can't afford a decent phone or even light bulbs ..a fold out print too which is a nice touch.. really good value for £20 from his BigCartel No so much for £200+ from scuzbag bot resellers...

I ended up getting Soul-Boy his first pair of Levi's when it was the cyber monday sale at the Levis Store They're this cut 'Levi's 578 Baggy' .. the waist is a bit big but it pulls in ok with a belt He loves them, the hem sits perfectly over the Military blue AJ4s he got for Xmas I paid £56 down from £80.. I think he looks better in a pair of SC47s.. he doesn't agree -

If the zipper works, i'd just trim the edge and put a few stitches through / around the edge of the cord to stop it fraying any further.. job done! -

The Ashinary is my favourite model too.. i just think this type of sole is too hefty for such a shoe. Looks like something i'd expect to see on a modern work boot. -

Lovely shoes arn't they.. nice bit of geography teacher steeze I agree.. the Ichimaigawa & Ashinari are the two most visually appealing models.. alas, the Vibram sole on the Ashinari looks too chunky for quite a dainty shoe.. The sole on the Ichimaigawa makes much more sense..alas, the cut of the leather on this model, around where the tongue is attached opens up a hole with wear, i would find seeing my socks through the shoe, quite annoying.
