it's his first pair of raw denim, trying to turn him into an addict like me!! Will it work?

If these don't work, you might have to give up...

Pre soak fit looks good, hope he enjoys them - they're beautiful jeans.

@el padre were yours one wash or raw version. Yea  I noticed my one wash shrank up a tad. Im hoping that is it though.  Jeans look good btw!

Thanks! Mine were OW but they still shrank, about an inch in length. But to be honest now I think they're done shrinking, and it's me that's expanding. To be fair it's only the waist that seems to keep getting smaller, not any other dimensions

Been washing lots and sticking them in the dryer, so I'd be surprised if there's any shrink left now

I think with another 6-8 months of wear time they'll look great

    They look great now.

    I’m a 34 in ironhearts or roys and a 36 in flatheads

Yeah I'm 32 in IH and 33 in FH 3XXX, but after a few washes the FH are very snug, 34 would probably work better.... It keeps me honest though

  4. @mpukas @lee porter my 32 rfr004 are very very similar to my 33 FH3009:

Both have been washed a fair bit, so the shrink is all gone. The RFR shrank less I think and stretch a tiny bit more, but not a lot. They are beautiful and @Danny @ Rivet & Hide will be spot on with sizing help. The denim has a amazing texture but is somehow still subtle. I'd love a 3005 fit in the same denim...

How many washes are you at and at what temps? Do love me some leg twist but mine has barely started to migrate forward. I’ve just done a 40c and a 30c on my OW pair mind.

Mine are OW, machine washed twice at 30. I don't dare go higher temperature as I need to fit my waist stretching device (= my gut) back in

When I was 14 or so I got a pair of second hand levis from a vintage store. Couldn't work out why the seam wouldn't stay on the side of my leg, figured they must have been seconds or rejects or something, so I chucked them :-) how times change...

(OW 32) before their first  wash this week, not much fading so far but that's the trouble with a desk job.

They had stretched out to almost 86cm (bottom) and shrunk back to 78-79cm after a 60 degree wash (top).

Had them back on a day and they are stretching back out nicely, super comfortable.

Me too... same size, same fading story, also washed this week, same stretch-shrink-stretch measurements... This thread would be a few pages shorter if we'd known about that stretch back in August, I think.

Also my left leg twist is now about 80º, selvedge almost pointing forwards

  7. This one is from Dawson Denim. It's great. Lots of washes. Worn a couple of times weekly since early in the pandemic. I've modified it slightly, to make the elastic go round the back of my head, cos I've got daft ears and the straps make them stick out and I end up looking like a denim teacup.

I'm claiming a bit of mask roping here

  8. Maybe it's a volume thing as well?

Whatever, if it's worth it to you, that's where the value comes in. No way i can rationally explain to anyone else how my mf cowboy jacket is 10x better than a mall jacket* but I wouldn't trade

    * actually on reflection I think I probably can but the point still stands I think. Most of what we discuss here isn't objectively better, in terms of performance or longevity, than other clothing, so we're paying for provenance, or soul, or similar. Otherwise I guess we'd all just be wearing identical boiler suits and drinking soylent and so on.
