That right, but the Duke of Edinburgh also founded an award (qualifications) /initiative to encourage young people, usually teenagers at school, to take up hiking and being outdoors. There’s levels to the skill, I think Bronze,Silver and Gold but the jist is you plan and go on a hike in the hills. Carrying all your own equipment, food and water. Navigating to your camp then staying over night and being self sufficient. Experienced guides go to help, just in case. it’s about encouraging them to push themselves and gain confidence. You see them all Over hiking spots in the Uk.

Thanks for the input everyone. I have the Deck Worker Parka in a size 40 and was told by Seiichiro that fits around a size bigger than the denim jackets. It fits fine with a sweater. Think I’m going for the 42. My only reference for the denim jackets is the TCB 50’s in a 42 and that’s quite fitted. The s506xx look a bit more generous in that tag size so it should be good. Getting a Non-wash so I can baby it if needs be when soaking. Appreciate all your comments.

Here the thing then… Looking closely at the measurements for the S506xx 44-45, I could fit a 42 or 44 depending on my preference for it being fitted or roomy. So what’s the thinking on this. Worth sizing up, or tts?

I'm wearing mine almost full time, about 2 weeks before a break each time, even then only a day or so off. We'll have to see if that continues over the next 14 months. Crocking is starting to show.

The cut suits you. I had long hair in my early twenties and found the ease of short hair really something when I cut it all off. And well, I don’t have as much hair as I used to back then either. Best to embrace it like you have. At least you’re not grey yet - unlike me. I’m at about 40-50% now 😉

Very true. I only started digging after looking at the recent release of the 44/45 Jacket. and this is a rabbit-hole type of a pursuit.

This was my takeaway from the video too. the 42 and 47 are different blues but the 44/45 & 42 are close but possibly different. I have re-watched the 44-45 review again, and I think the fabric on the 42 is similar - dark blue black and rough textured, but different between the two. I have asked Seiichiro if he knows

I was talking to Seiichiro about the 42 jacket and upcoming transition model jeans and he did mention the Popularity of Freewheelers nowadays… ’S601XX(denim pocket bag version). It's possible to change shape and nobody knows the details yet. After arrival, we'll know about it. I'll stock nonwash w32 and w33. If you want it, preorders will be better. FW's denim products are getting so popular and sold out is so quickly in these days.’ And about the possibility of a re-run of 42 Jackets… ‘It's possible but it's not sure when FW produce again’

I honestly don’t know. from watching the Hooper reviews of both the 44-45 & 42 models, I’m think I’m right in saying that the 44-45 S model has a rougher darker denim, compared to the non-s 506 models. I’ll rewatch the 42 video and see if I can pick out more details now I’m a bit more informed on the models. They did make a point of how special the denim was. That video was posted earlier in the thread. Here’s the review of the s506xx 44-45 review from previous run about a year ago. From what I understand the recent edition of this jacket is the same as the previous one. I’m happy to be corrected on anything I’ve missed or misunderstood here though.

I'm looking for a raw Size 42, in the 1942. The reason for asking about the re-releasing is that iv'e seen the current release of the s506xx 44-45 again. Which made me think perhaps the 42 might come back? Thanks for the replies.

Does anyone know if the 506xx 1942 Jacket Lot.2421006 (wash)/ 2421005 (Non-wash) Jacket is an annual release? I've been looking at the S506xx 1944-45 jacket Lot.2511004 (washed), and have seen the Hooper review of the 42 too, realizing (as always it seems) that i'd missed it a few months back. Thanks

Ha ha. I’d checked the post wash a while ago. Just couldn’t remember. Really wanted to confirm if I should baby them or just wash as normal. as a side note; I’d steer clear of purchasing these from Hinoya. I think there’s a better price to be had elsewhere.

They are. There’s a great photo from TakeOff’s Instagram with a worm and faded pair. They have a sulfur based dye (or summin’) that result in this lovely colour. I was looking for something that isn’t a pair of jeans. I have a pair of Gramicci ‘climbing’ trousers in black that are half decent, but the back rise annoys me and the front pockets are set a little too far back. Anyways, I didn’t want a typical khaki pair of chinos so this fits the bill nicely. Great fit on me as well. They even have some selvage accents where all Pockets facings join. Edit: yes, unsanforsihed & unwashed. I also Googled the shrinkage and found the answer immediately…1-2cm in the waist and 4-5cm in length. Apologies for that 😉 -
Just received the Warehouse 1082 Chino in non-wash from Takeoff-clothing Lovely Blue-Grey Colour. Good fit in this state but quite long. They threw in the Warehouse catalogue too. Just to tempt me further.

Thanks. She’s a great dog. Lovely temperament, very well behaved usually. Just over the top when it comes to excitement for other people and dogs. She’s been good at training, but these two habits are hard to shake. it’s good to hear that yours still has the lovely character when she’s older. It’s great. Since getting her we’ve seen loads of Fox-Reds everywhere. Turns out, we weren’t that original when we picked her!

Thanks. She’s our first dog, 20 months old now. Full size, and acting like a disobedient adolescent recently, hence the lead. But, overall she’s a very sweet girl.
