Looking good b_F, what do you think? Were you able to the the buttonhole stitching to loosen up at all?

The denim feels rougher than I remember the "Last Resort" denim to be. But this is a welcome surprise :D
They do look quite slim but they aren't. I've got a lot of room in the thighs and hips which makes them very comfortable. The leg opening is of course rather narrow for a WW2 sitting at 8.5" now for a W36. But I guess this could be customized as well if someone wants to do that. The buttonholes are workin now ;) And the selvedge is really wide as you said. Wider than Resolute 711.

Fit pics for the Rockets to follow?

Do you know if the shrinkage of batch 221 increases with the number of washes? I'm hesitant to put it in the dryer... does that shrink it a lot? Do you recommend putting it inside out or right side up in the dryer?

Some guys have shared their measurements already (I haven't washed a pair of 221 yet). I think @blooming was one of them.

I guess I'll cancel my trip then. 😉

I got as many brands as I could find saved on Google Maps, wondering what shops have multiple brands I may have missed. The Self Edge's of Japan? Hinoya or similar. I was hoping Bears had a brick-and-mortar, but it doesn't appear to. I see Resolute has had some pop-ups as of late, hopefully, one near me during my stay there.

Bears definitely has a brick&mortar shop

Recently discovered Word of Mouth Jeans, a one-man-band made one by one in Italy by the very friendly and knowledgeable Simone.
While I haven't ordered a pair yet I'm on the verge, just need to sell a pair or two so I can justify it.
He currently offers two cuts, a pair of 50's and 60's inspired jeans. He is also working on a late 40's pair and some other stuff.
You can contact him via Instagram DM for more info. Maybe our friend @volvo240thebest can get a pair!

    His homepage is online:

The jeans look nice (the back pocket shape improved). The price is quite steep but I am probably just cheap :D

    Nice

What does the FQ on the patch and the number on the pocket bag mean?

About the batch numbers of Denime: I have no fucking clue. Smarter persons than me can decipher when the jeans were made, I can't. For a long time I thought they would just print whatever they want but the numbers and letters can be dated to the production run.

And in regards to the pocket bags, that's a small nod to Levi's. They also had such printed numbers on the pocket bags. I asked earlier if someone could explain it. But IIRC @Paul T and also @Dr_Heech can't (or am I wrong?!)

@beautiful_FrEaK Thank you! That is exactly the input I wanted. I have been on the lookout for sometime but for every 20 newish pairs of XX that come up (rare enough as it is) there's maybe 1 pair of WWII.

There are pairs every now and then but yes, much rarer than the XX.

You often find worn pairs but also some deadstock pairs were available recently. I always send the links to @Flash with pairs in his size...but he just won't buy them ;)

  9. The WW2 were released 3 years ago or so. I also like UES and looked at them quite often. The denim fades really nice and while I don't like coloured wefts, this slight brown tint is okay.

Size-wise they run a bit larger IMO. I had the 400T in size 34 and this was when I was at least 10 kg heavier. But yeah, I would probably get a 34 again :D

  10. @Graytrain as my sample size is n=1 for XX and WW2 from the Orizzonti era, please take it with a grain of salt.

The WW2 is a touch straighter in the lower leg. Top block is not too different but my WW2 feel tighter. As a note, they had been boiled to death by the previous owner I guess.

They have the laurel leaf buttons, lack of rivets, wider back pockets, wonky stitches to show the WW2 characteristics (I want to believe Denime was the first brand to pay attention to this, prove me I am wrong!!!), all yellow stitching, the denim feels different to the XX but I can't say it actually is a different denim, my pocket bags are white canvas. They used different material for different runs.
