Thank you! After posting this I realized that Cultizm got stock of the early 60s Warehouse 2002XX and couldn't resist that sweet no VAT almost the same price as Bears price.

Yeah... I started wearing my 0105SS yesterday and my god, comfort I've never experienced before. Does anyone have an 2102SS jacket? I was in the market for a Type II and the softness of these 0105 is making me think the 2102 will be great, but FC pricing......

Because we see it day in day out over here. Huge SUVs crushing fellow cyclists, pedestrians, smaller cars and so on. I saw a hummer EV driving at what must’ve been 70mph dodging in and out of lanes. The gross weight of that vehicle is monstrous. Road deaths/traffic incidents directly coincide with the increase in vehicle size. Of course I’m going to drive something that’s not tiny or an old shit box that doesn’t have crumple zones. My CX-30 is a small car. It’s sold all over the world. Plenty of people want small cars here. The compact crossover segment has become incredibly popular. Seems like you may have an incorrect preconceived notion about how many people here drive Cadillac Escalade’s and Chevy Tahoe’s. It’s the minority for sure. When I go home to see my folks, I’m reminded immediately how small cars are in the UK. They just wouldn’t be safe over here.

120-130 damn son 😅 I've never gone over 90 lol and even that is just overtaking downhill

Pretty much what I alluded to. Comfort, space, flexibility, engine noise, mountains. A 997cc engine driving over a 12,000ft/3600m with a whitewater raft and associated equipment, cooler, bicycle, clothes, Starlink dish, batteries, solar panel etc would have me driving at 6mph. I am absolutely a small card advocate, hence why I own one of the smallest cars on the U.S. market, but sometimes small is genuinely too small IMO.
-
Quite simple - because they don't sell them anymore. When I first moved to the U.S. from London, where I owned a VW Polo, I went to a VW dealership and asked if they had any Polo's or Fox's. The answer was no. They had also never heard of them. They barely had any Golf's. It's a self fulfilling prophecy. I can't buy what is no longer manufactured. The Honda FIT/Jazz is the perfect every day car IMO - Its tiny but cavernous inside and it was discontinued here in 2020/2021. I currently own a Mazda CX-30 which for me is as small a car as I'd want out here from both a perceived safety and visibility perspective but also internal cargo space. California is HUGE, with more recreation opportunities than you can shake a stick at. I drive all over the state with a large cooler, or a raft, or a kayak, or bicycles, or dogs and so on. Not saying this is you @Double 0 Soul - but so many people back home in the UK cannot fathom the size of the U.S., or the distances that we drive, or the geographic sparseness, or the arid conditions we drive in. I have had my CX-30 for two years this week, and I've done 41,000 miles in that time. Dunno about you but I wouldn't want to do 41,000 miles in a small car with a 997cc engine.

I picked this up on clearance from its already discounted price from Eddie Bauer. I got the last one. Its very nice - surprisingly so - but It doesn't look great on me. The Large is too big around my shoulders but a medium would be too small everywhere else - lol. Anyone want for the $150 I paid? Would go halves on shipping which would probably be $15-20 as its pretty chonky. I can still return it but thought someone may want it for the price. https://www.buckmason.com/products/camel-cascade-down-eddie-bauer-yukon-jacket

SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)
jkbrwn replied to minya's topic in superdenim
@AlientoyWorkmachine thanks for the tips. I did indeed just want extra space rather than 30s features. Ordered some 0105W Super Smooth's from Cultizm out of curiosity. I live in the high desert in SoCal so the lighter denim was appealing. Can't really complain at $202 USD versus the almost $400 after tax at US retailers. -
SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)

Kind of intentionally vague as I'm quite open to all suggestions. Is anyone making something right now that resembles a mid 1930s 501 fit that is actually available and that doesn't cost the earth? I have a pair of Burgus Plus 1928s from a few years ago that should be perfect but the whole crotch area is super snug and its outrageously uncomfortable. Basically just looking for something straighter than my 1003XXs with an equally high rise. No taper below the knee. Perhaps some extra space in the thigh. -
Well, not quite as luxurious as a pair of Lofgren's. I was conflicted on ordering honestly, scared by the 'terrible QC' r/goodyearwelt echo chamber. But they're literally perfect. I think OSB make some of the prettiest reasonably priced MiUSA shoes out there. In a world where Yuketen's that used to cost $450 now cost $800-900, OSB seems like a great deal.

Jealous. I bought the poor man's M43 in the form of an Oak Street Field Boot last week in CXL roughout and to be fair - I'm very pleased for the $372 I paid after sale + welcome discount code - but they're not quite as slick as the Lofgren's. However I will say that the last they're built on is magic for anyone with a wide forefoot - and I love this sole! This is after just a few days of wear.

And the repair work. I paid $250 for these small repairs - along with a hem and chainstich hahahaha. And it took about four visits to Denim Doctors and about 4 weeks instead of the 3-4 days that I was quoted.

Don't remember if I ever posted these.... Montgomery Ward 1939 (not the 1939S) that I mentioned a couple of posts ago. I had a really crass repair done by a dry cleaner on the crotch blowout, but years later, way after I - eh hem - grew out of them - I had them repaired by Zip and co at Denim Doctors in Los Angeles. Terrible repair experience and the outcome was just okay. Long story...

Edit: thanks to the mod who moved this here. Wasn't aware of this thread. I have been outta the denim game for a few years at this point, but now am fully back in and remembered that I have a relatively lightly worn pair of 2019 1947 DD-1001XXs in a 36" (label size), hemmed and chainstitched to a 29" inseam. Anyone want for $100? They don't even come close to fitting me anymore.

Very long time no post, but loving these cinch back 1003XXs a lot! Excuse the lifted shirt but just wanted to show the rise. Closest fit I’ve found to my old Warehouse Montgomery Ward 1939s from 2014 or so. These are a 1941ish. Very pleased. Size 38". Shrank down a good inch and a half in the waist and a couple of inches in length. Still required a hem and chain stitch to 29”…
