I hear a lot of folks giving me reasons why they think i should like RO.. but y'all just need to appreciate that we have our own personal tastes.. those tastes can be complicated, they evolve, i hate things for bizarre reasons, i love things for bizarre reasons, we all do I don't say you should like this music because they don't take themselves too seriously or you should like this food because it's somebody's vision or this film because it was indipendantly produced, there are some things we like, there are some things we don't, we're not all the same.. ..as i've said, some of the RO stuff looks great, some of it doesn't, some folks can make a good outfit look bad, some folks can make a bad outfit look good.. on a public forum, you need to allow people opinions and accept you may not share these opinions and 'reasons why' are not going to change peoples personal tastes. -

I only shitpost about RO from my freezing cold workshop with water leaking through the roof and mould growing up the walls.. keeps it in perspective. -

Not really.. it's just a matter of some shit looking good and some shit looking bad, take this for example These jeans don't look great, the fabric doesn't drape properly which makes the guy look like he has some kind of weird penis balcony https://www.selfedge.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=3555&search=RICK+OWENS Whereas this fit looks great https://www.selfedge.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=3017&search=RICK+OWENS If you think the penis balcony jeans look good, that's fine, one man's meat is another man's poison or so they say. -

Well you've completely missed both of my points.. i never even considered a 'pushback' against designer brands? My 1st point was the RO pumps are fkin awful (this is only my opinion and like arseholes...ect) they're worn badly by most who try, this has nothing to do with them being a designer brand, they're just not aesthetically pleasing. I posted some SC catalogues last week, a brand which is fully accepted in the denim community but imo 80% of what's in those catalogues is grim af.. just because it's SC doesn't mean i would wear it. My other point was that folks around here are buying these hideous pumps because they're sold at SE. Take our aging Bret 'the hitman' Hart character above for example.. he would never buy a similar Janet Jackson outfit from Primark, he thinks the fact that it's RO is validation but anyone with eyes can see he looks like a complete bell end. If your RO trousers look good, that's all that matters.. -

Are the men folk from Leeds still rocking the allover spray tan and industrial strength teeth whitening look? -

This guy from The Allotment store in Leeds is hilarious! I think he needs to spend a lot less on clothing and a lot more on counseling -
I bought a pair in size 32" followed by a pair in size 34" the 32 was always a bit snug, the 34 was always a bit loose.. I wondered if you'd done the same

Sorry @reallypeacedoff i wasn't targeting you there .. that last question was posed to RO owners in general.. ie- does the SE seal of approval give this weird looking fashion sneaker validation in the denim world? .. i'm genuinely interested in how some brands manage to crossover.. -

Back in 2008 Blue in Green and Self Edge were the two largest denim stores outside of JP, they both measure their jeans differently.. BiG with the waistband pulled flat, SE with the waistband sagging so to avoid possible variations in measurements, we would always note our method of measuring.. i have always used BiG method because i think it has less chance for variables... BiG fell out of favour quite some years ago, since they stopped stocking the brands we love around here so folks coming to forumland in recent years will understandably wonder why we choose a method from a somewhat obscure source. -

Here's a weekend denim task.. (for the perpetually bored) let's discover Denim Pi or Dπ as i've just coined it.. Find a pair of jeans which fit nicely around your waist and measure them BiG style For me thats 43cm Now measure around your waist where those jeans fit.. for me thats 87cm Work out the factor by dividing 87 into 43 = 2.023 I'm going to cauiously call this number Dπ (allowing .1 for error) Peer review and prove me right or wrong -
Beauties! Are the both the same size.. pair on the right look one size bigger / wider through the hip

If you like them, go for it.. i'm not giving you shit about your taste in footwear.. personally, i think they look hideous and most folks have the ability to make them look even worse..(present company exceped) i thought the same with Mister Freedom, he has a handful of nice pieces but most of it looked cartoonish and more often than not, worn badly by people who thought they looked dope just because they were wearing MF. If they wasn't Rick Owens, if they wasn't sold a Self Edge would you still have bought a similar looking pair of sneakers? -

^ Already googled it.. it can be used for hair, dry skin, eyelashes, eyebrows ect.. Bit of a cure-all for skin and hair.. i've just never seen it used in a barbers shop edit- although the guy getting the treatment was probably from the west indies.. if i had to guess, i'd say the barbers are probably middle eastern
