Y'all aren't wrong, let's see what I can whip up in the next couple of days.
Found some cheap flights April 15th - 25th. More to come.

Be aware that Golden week is 29th April - 5th of May this year, just in case you thought of going later.
All of Japan will be on holiday and on the move, making accommodation much scarcer/ costly.

Soaked twice, Unworn. All expected shrinkage removed.
I paid ¥36000 shipped. Which approx £190 now.

    Asking £180 + shipping.

    Dm for details etc. Thanks.

  3. Mine was the same, the graphic on the patch didn’t last long after the first wash, but the leather itself held up well for the first year or so.
A t-shirt would have been cool.

Nice. That leather patch looks perfect.

The patch was great when it was new, and now its well worn its grown on me. Still quite supple. My other favorite detail is the fade on the pocket bag, the sateen has faded loads and become really soft, far more that the striped twill.

These are semi retired now due to threads breaking and having other pairs to wear.

  5. A couple of my S40’s WW2 competition jeans.
The other full length shots didn’t come out well, so just these worth posting.
Back pocket has most spot on colour

Following the nice review from  @beautiful_FrEaK I have a couple of observations after wearing my pair of 47s for around a year.

    1. Compared to other jeans with a similar medium rise, I find the 47s quite unforgiving of hip-slip. By which I mean, I have to wear a belt to keep them high on my hips otherwise the fit becomes quite unflattering. This isn’t necessarily a problem, but I don’t love wearing a belt. This may also be peculiar to my body shape.

    2. The long fly placket that bF mentioned really accentuates the twist of the top block after a few washes and the top of the fly ends up quite significantly displaced from the centre. Again, not necessary a problem, but it can look quite funny if worn with a shirt. The placket of the shirt will sit an inch or more sideways from the fly placket (apparently this alignment is known as the ‘gig line’ in military parlance).

Generally I think they’re a nice pair of jeans, but these two points somehow mean I don’t find them as easy to wear as other pairs I own.

How dare you speak out against The Grail!?
You Sir are on very thin ice. I will appeal for leniency on your part to the Freewheelers authorities, but this is a very serious incident ;)

I haven’t even worn my 47’s yet but know they are ‘the best’ jean ever.
I simply can’t understand anyone nit picking them!
Your independent thought has been duly noted though. Everyone loves a free spirit :)

I can't complain much :) I did manage to snag my all-time favorite Roy jeans, the old sail canvas pocket pants.

Did anyone happen to read the description on the W111 Indigo Canvas shirt? I meant to take a look at it but didn't get a chance before it was taken down. I was hoping to know what it said about the fabric.

Something about there being both a W110 and W112 too, but that this one, the W111 was softer, or a nicer shirting fabric compared the other two . I only read it quickly, but that was the gist (IIRC).

I got lucky and got the denim shirt while ignoring my kids at the playground 😅

Damn! Thought I’d bought that. ;)

Cone Mill heavy one or the double indigo?

Good job either way. I struggled with checkout, being in the UK.

  9. There were 2-3 images of young men in jail / police station from the 50’s, arrested for being drunk I think, wearing an assortment of plaid, harrington and denim jackets with sneakers and boots….

I can’t find theses pictures and I’m sure I saw them a couple of months ago. I’ve scanned every page. Perhaps the image link is dead or I’ve just missed it?
Can someone quote it or link the page if you know which pictures I mean?
    Thanks.

  10. Just machine washed the 56’s.
seen with unworn (soaked once) 51’s for comparison.

Thought it was a good example of the colour after some washing. Both 601xx fabric.
pictures taken in natural (although dull) lighting - Unedited.
