  1. From my experience, the Deep Indigos stretched around 2" in the waist, but shrunk about 2.5" when I hot soaked/sun-dried them. Yeah, shrinkage all-around after the soak/dry, much prefer the fit now. I'm thinking about hemming them though.

  2. These jeans do stretch out a lot. I should of sized down one.
    FUCK YOUU.

.. your fit is perfect. :(

jackers, any recent fit pics? Fit looked pretty good last time I saw them.

Everyone who's saying they should have sized down, how did you originally size them?

I've got them TTS but not ready to wear them yet (no soak, still need to hem). Pretty sure that I'll get a good slim-straight fit. I actually prefer the looser fits that I've seen of these than the tight, "sized down" fits.

  3. Awesome.

Is Self Edge going to carry the 3sixteen outerwear from the Fall/Winter collection?

We have partnered with Kiya Babzani of Self Edge San Francisco to open Self Edge New York, which will carry the entire 3sixteen collection every season, as well as product manufactured in small numbers exclusively for the store. SENY will become 3sixteen’s marquee retailer in New York.
  4. ...have to follow my own post, hope you still enjoy my updates?...

I definitely appreciate the updates, both your's and pomata's. Never been to Europe, and with my job doesn't look like I'll be going any time soon. Visiting this thread is the next best thing, I guess. Thanks.

Is that a basil salad bar, with fresh basil? Or is the basil just there for garnishing? Either way, really cool to have ingredients that fresh at a restaurant.

  5. don't know it this has been asked/answered before...chainstitching service available at SENY ??

    This (10char):

Hemming via chainstitch starts next week at SENY, should take between 2 and 4 days.

it's free if bought from SENY, if bought from SESF it's $15.

If you bought the jeans from another store it's $25.

  6. Oh snap! 3sixteen SL-200x is back!

The denim looks different from Lot 001, but I imagine it will produce some awesome fades. Can we expect to see the 200x denim with the ST cut?

  7. I feel the same way, except I am worried about mine being too wide, I bought the large. I wear a 40 in my flathead shirts, but I wanted it to be a little oversized for the fall and winter.
I generally wear a 40 in my Flat Head shirts (40 in Black Mint grid shirt is a little short in the sleeves, 42 in houndstooth because the batch ran small), My chest measures 39" and I have the CPO in large. I bought it used and haven't given it a proper soak yet, but the chest measures 44" (22" pit-to-pit). It fits me perfectly as an overshirt. I think you'll be very happy with the fit.

  8. Alright then. Will the selfedge.com inventory be updated with the NYC store inventory?

    This:

kiya, will the stock available in SENY, be put up in the online store as well?
No, SENY's stock is only for SENY.

If you want something from the NY location you can place a phone order, shipping is still free worldwide.

  9. I would say the lack of brakes, combined with the lack of toe clips and/or straps is the most striking feature of the bike. I guess insane wipeouts make for good wear on denims.

I never understood the point of riding a fixie outside of a velodrome. After reading the Wikipedia article, I still don't understand. Riding a brakeless fixie just sounds retarded:

Some fixie riders think brakes are not strictly necessary, and brakeless fixed riding has an almost cult status in some places, based on the perception by some riders of the experience of riding in a state of intense concentration or 'flow' where brakes are thought not to be needed.

I remember seeing lots of people on fixies while I lived in Seattle, which is absolutely stupid considering the steep terrain. I suppose it's a similar scene in San Fran.:confused::confused:

I have for sale a brand new Flat Head Black Mint Grid shirt in size 40.

The shirt was tried on but it's a little too small for me. I purchased the shirt from Self Edge, and the shirt came without any tags.

Photos and measurements can be seen at Self Edge:

Retailed for $205 at SE, and has since sold out.

  11. One last Q: Does MFSC ever change sizing labels (i.e., size down one) for pieces sold in Japan?

I bought a one-wash chambray while I was in Japan. I thought I was buying the raw version (I was an idiot for not knowing that the shirt was one-wash at the time I bought it), so I sized up since it made sense according to the SE measurements.

You would think that one-wash sizing = raw sizing after a soak. Turns out that this wasn't the case. The measurements on my one-wash were the same as the raw (pre-soak). I ended up having to sell the chambray  So be careful with sizing when comparing one-wash to raw!

  12. I feel the same way, except I am worried about mine being too wide, I bought the large. I wear a 40 in my flathead shirts, but I wanted it to be a little oversized for the fall and winter.

  13. i want them chainstitched though and i can get it for free presoak

i had flatheads in 32 and never hemmed and they looked fine stacking, but im scared to do so on the 33s

Hemming pre-soak will give you more roping too. ;)

Sounds like a 32" inseam is your target. Seeing as how the unhemmed length is ~34" post-soak, I'd say hemming 2" would get you a 32" inseam post-soak. Haven't had any experience with the 3XXX denim though, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

  14. I am just about to retire my skulls as I meant, and now looking on to 811's.

I've read well over 100 pages or so, and I concluded to go with the 29 tagged (30 in measured).

I wasn't expecting to get a slim fit, just more of a slim straight leaning more towards a slim..if that makes sense. Just not a skinny dimension.

I can't speak for the raw sizing, but I sized down 1 in the one-wash (true 32" in a tagged 31) and it's pretty damn slim. I've tried the one-wash both 32 and 31.

If you're going for slim sizing down seems the way to go. I think Sidney Lo sized down for his 811:

    Size 28 raw:

  15. I'm worried about the inseam on 3Sixteen's getting too short post-wash/soak since I need at least 34".

    Fear founded, or unfounded?

My SL's shrunk from 34" to 33" after a soak. They still measure 33" after the warm wash/sun dry. Had I cared to keep the inseam length, I'm sure that I could have stretched them out to 34" while they were still damp.

Flipped them inside out and found the indigo was bleeding through in the combs.

After a warm handwash in the shower and drying under the sun. Not much contrast, the Kaihara denim is hard to fade.
