  1. ok so i finally found a pair of these in my size, but im a little confused.

they have navy arches, i thought they all had orange arches?

Those are the Self Edge x Flat Head BSP's (SE05BSP), "not to be confused with the SEXFH05", which is what this thread is dedicated to; hence why all of the other pairs you see in this thread don't have tonal arcuates.

Nice pick up on those BSP's though. I saw them in the supermarket, my size and great price. If I didn't already have several pairs of denim waiting for me I would have picked them up.

  2. i think the fit looks great; a really ideal slim fit from me. keep it keep it

+1. You had me worried because my unsoaked 1001's fit the same as your 3001's, but your post-soak fit is exactly the fit I want.

  3. I'm thinking of getting my gf her first pair of raws. Looking at either the S&S Naomi or the PBJs Woman's Slim. Can't really decide so I was hoping the womanzz in here could help me out?
Here are the fit pics I promised

    VS.

I picked up a pair of S&S Delilah's for my girlfriend, and she absolutely loves them. She was a little reluctant to try raw denim at first, but once they broke for her she was all about it.

For reference, these are W26 and unaltered.

PBJ gets my vote for denim and fit (no hate on mflo's girl).

  4. I soaked them to get rid of the starch and that is it.

From my experience the 15oz Deep Indigo denim actually does shrink after a soak, although I soaked mine after wearing them for a couple of months. They definitely shrunk past the original dimensions though.

The soak also got rid of some of the excess indigo, which was a good thing because these things are overdyed and bleed like a motherfucker - also helped to get the fades going faster. For these reasons, my recommendation IS to soak the Deep Indigo denim prior to wearing.

However, soaking them isn't going to get much of the starch out. Mine were stiff as new after the soak, if not stiffer due to the shrinkage. Felt like wrapping cardboard around my legs, and it felt awesome.

did the tightness make your knees buckle?

+1. Sorry dude, but you got some fucked up knees.

    Thigh (at crotch): 11.5"

    Thigh (1" below crotch): 11.25"

    Knee: 8.5"

    Leg opening: 7.5"

    Front Rise: 11"

    Back Rise: 13.25"

    Inseam: 33"

    - Brand new with tags (Only worn to try on)

    - Customized buttons and rivets

    - Selvage denim

    - Made in Japan

    - Slim fit

These fuckers are slim. I had these in a 32 before but those were too big. The denim on these is super soft and the customized hardware is a nice touch; I liked the denim so much that I tracked down a pair of 30's. Turns out the 30's are too tight. If you're looking for a great pair of slim fitting grey denim, look no further.

  6. anyone have measurements?

    kixslf posted them on styleforum:

    316vlag.jpg

They seem to be a little carrot cut from the measurements. Reminds me of my N&F WeirdGuys. A little loose in the thighs with a taper from the knee down, and even lower rise than the N&F.

  7. does anybody of you guys own both, the 1001 and the f310 / 3001? did you size up for the 1001?

I don't own the F310/3001 but I recently got a pair of 1001. I sized down one from my true waist. Not ready to wear them just yet, but the fit is just a little loose in the waist and thighs presoak. They will be super slim after a hot soak, but the 1XXX series denim is supposed to stretch quite a bit so I expect them to be just right after stretching. Most people that have gone TTS on the 1001 said they ended up stretching too much. Hope that helps...

  9. This is where I'm confused. I thought the F380 was supposed to be their "narrow" straight fit, while the 5000 line suggests a more relaxed fit. With that said, was sizing up 2 the reason shego's jeans look so baggy, or is that because of the cut itself?

The first digit of the Flat Head models designates type of denim used. The last digit designates the cut. Hence the F380 (formerly 3008) and the F310 (formerly 3001) use the same denim, but different cuts. The F310 is a slim straight cut, the F380 is a classic straight cut.

    For more info: http://www.flat-head.co.uk/html/styles.html

I don't think shego sized up two. When he said he wore 32 in APC's, I think he included the stretch factor for their denim (2 inches), as most people size down 2 for APC. So, 34" would be his true waist. As mentioned, the F380 is a classic straight cut so it is intended to be more relaxed than slim.

    ***Lot 001***

    Size 30

    True waist 32"

    Height 5'9"

    Weight 162 lbs

***EDIT***: The cut on Lot 002 of the SL denim (the one carried by SE) is slightly different from Lot 001. The measurements for my pair of Lot 001 size 30 are as follows:

    Waist 31.5

    Thigh (1" below crotch) 11.6

    Knee 9

    Leg opening 7.75

    Front rise 10

    Back rise 13

    Inseam 34

  11. Cross-post from the SE thread, but I figure that sizing questions will be coming soon for the 3sixteen denim...

    Hey Kiya,

should I get get my normal waist if I wanted to get a pair of the 3sixteen straight jeans on go down one?

Get your normal size, don't size down.

FWIW, I sized down two to a 30 on my pair of SL-100x (only the even sizes were available for Lot 001). They've stretched out to a comfortable 32" in the waist now, and aren't tight at all in the thighs. Fit is similar to, if not a little looser, than Sidney's fit in the photos.

I'll try to take some fit and evo pics (not much wear, only about a month) this week.

  13. The answer is 3sixteen, The last shall be first.

Coming to Self Edge this weekend, the 3sixteen denim collection made up of denim from Cone's White Oak plant and Japan's Kaihara Mills.

I'm a big fan of 3sixteen. Had I been subscribed to SE's twitter (or twitter at all for that matter), I would have been all over this contest. Oh well...

I knew that they were releasing their denim for the spring but I never imagined that it would be carried by SE, although I was aware of your input that went into their denim and that Turf carried 3sixteen. That's awesome that SE is going to carry 3sixteen's denim. I just started wearing my SL-100X denim regularly and they've quickly become my go-to pair. Not too much wear on them yet but I'll try to post pics this weekend if anyone is interested.

  14. Chances are they haven't been soaked yet. If that is the case, you're in the clear.
Are those pics pre soak? The denim kind of looks pre soak. Also where are the arcs? Did you take 'em off?
    soaking

    img1354.jpg

Pics might have been taken pre-soak though...

you do not want to size down on flathead 1001s

I sized down from a 32 to a 31. Neither were soaked when I tried them, but I definitely prefer the fit of the 31. The 1XXX series denim is supposed to stretch quite a bit so while the first few weeks will be painful, I'm pretty sure the waist will stretch back to the pre-soak dimensions.

Won't be soaking these for a while though since I'm still working on a few pairs. Also need to decide whether to hem or stack...
