Spiewak peacoats aren't that slim. Sterlingwear coats are I think sized by chest and if you size down 2 they're pretty slim fitting. Dunno about Schott.

Gotta disagree here. While I think Uniqlo sizes fit better I'd say that the quality of their peacoat is nothing special at all. My friend bought a peacoat last winter and imho it was not very warm, the lining was poor, the wool was stiff and rather scratchy, and it did not hold up well after regular wear, ie it did not hold the the original shape and it started to get a bit fuzzy looking. Worth $60 on sale and not much more. This and the duffle were big disappointments considering the Uniqlo down vests and puffer jackets were good quality and a decent bargain at retail.

Seriously, peacoats are all over the place and the best basic ones are probably the traditional ones supplied to the navy. They're real cheap at thrift stores or you can buy online from the government's supplier for $150-200.

First pic is the peacoat. Not in the store yet but it looks similar to the one from last season, which was not very impressive.

You are comparing two things in completely different contexts. Is your argument that harvesting leather for non-essential things is just as bad as dogfighting, or are you justifying Michael Vick by saying that since X is accepted, then Y which achieves the same ends must be okay? Because it sounds like the latter and by your logic we can all be drowning puppies and kittens guilt free.

The big difference between dogfighting and anything else we're talking about is the cruelty of having to suffer before death. America has strict guidelines on killing animals for consumption and part of that is to ensure that death is as painless as possible. I'm not sure what regulations are on the fashion side but in this case it is not the death of animals that is relevant but that dogs are made to suffer extensively in an inhumane matter. It is the difference between using the lethal injection as the death penalty and having a bunch of guys hack you to death with machetes, which I think we can agree is a pretty big difference.

Uniqlo doesn't have really have outlets. They're just much, much smaller stores in NJ that sells the excess out of season items for cheap along with a lot of the basics. Pretty boring and way out of the way for you.

I don't feel this is really a valid comparison. Street cred is a matter of upbringing and social/geographical circumstances, whereas fashion is simply there to be adopted by whomever. The idea that you need to have certain roots or pre-requisites in order to claim appreciation of haute design with credibility is ridiculous. Nobody in this forum gave a shit about, or was privy to, any of the elite designers for the vast majority of their upbringing. If fashion, like rap, was a matter of certain pedigree, then the only people allowed on this forum would be tall, white, skinny as fuck, and from Tokyo or Antwerp. A year is a very long time in the style world. How many people here migrated from camping out for Nike/Supreme blazers and to APC to Diors. I don't even like Kanye's music very much nor do I think he looks good most of the time. But as a kid he used to enter oil painting competitions and went to school on (I think) a classic music scholarship. You can get them at most big retail opticians like Lenscrafters. I got these for my Rx sunglasses about a month or two ago. Lenscrafters has a coupon for $100 off any Rx sunglasses so with that I basically got the frames for free.

I highly doubt the frames are actually made in Italy. I'm pretty sure they're made in a Chinese factory and as long as there's some assembling/post production done in Italy they get to be stamped as "Made in Italy." Still great quality for the money though.
