  1. what are we supposed to "deal" with the belt, once we get it? I read over the leather goods thread on sufu, and supposedly your supposed to tan natural leather for 3 days, then oil it , and then wear it.

does the same go for the tanner belt? how do i go about requesting a leather keeper?

last question- i'm a true waist 31. if i'm reading correctly, do i go for a size 32 belt, to get the middle hole around 31"? ( i wear a sz 29 APC NS for reference.. sized down 2)

is hecklewood reputable? or is it better to buy directly off tanner's online website... any past experiences?

thanks and sorry for these noob questions. there seems to be differing opinions on sizing and such throughout these 7 pages

I also wear a 31 and ordered a 32 in the tanner belt. Length and hole placement are fine for me (there are 4 holes and I use the 3rd whenever I wear it).

You do not need to treat the belts in any way. If you're looking to make the natural tan belt look super vintage asap you can certainly oil it up and put it under the sun for days on end, but you don't "need" to do anything. If you're ordering brown/black/white don't even worry about it.

I ordered from the Hecklewood site and got my belt in about a week or so. No complaints.

  2. I assume this means 2nd batch of jeans will have definitely arrived from Japan by next week? I'll have to stop by BiG when I get back to NYC. Hopefully my 28s are in!

Is part of the sizing problem due to the fact that everyone is soaking/airdrying the jeans? Gordon says to just machine wash and put them in the dryer. Otherwise you won't get all the starch out and that prevents the jeans from fully shrinking. I'm pretty sure cheep did it this way and his fits look fine even though he didn't size down as much as a lot of ppl here.

  3. I'm a pretty exact 31 and ordered a 29 originally. However I went to BiG last week and tried on a washed and worn 28 (the pair Gordon sent to cheep to model in the original contest thread) which fit me perfect. He said there will be abount an inch of stretch in the waist after a good amount of wear so I sized down to a 28.

Btw there are no more small sizes (27-29) left from the first shipment. Those who ordered that and didn't get an email will probably have to wait 1-2 weeks. Gordon said there's still a lot of the bigger sizes so that's good news for some of you.

  4. studying my ass off so I can get into undergrad bschool so I can go to wallstreet so I can make big bucks so I can end up killing myself at 30 dut to massive stress.

Haha when you're in school and broke as hell coming out to a wall street/investment banking job making 120k sounds like the most baller shit ever. All my friends who were engineers or business (failed outta engineering) were trying to get this. The ones who did get it are the most miserable ppl I know right now.

  5. There are 5 colors, I believe: Black, Dark Grey, Light Grey, Blue and Olive. I got a pair in Blue and I like them so far. Fit pics a possibility in the future.

I think you are talking about the regular cords. I went today and only saw the slim in three colors; grey, black, and a beige/off-white.

They're pretty nice. Relatively slim but they are definitely roomier than the Uniqlo skinny jeans. They don't really "hug" the leg at all unless your thighs are huge. Straight leg no taper. I'd say rise is high since they sit on the waist instead of the hips. All sizes have the same inseam (seems like a 36"). No pics since I'm getting them hemmed and won't pick up until later this week.

Weird thing is these don't have that ribbed texture that cords typically have. It's smooth and actually looks a little shiney in the light....kinda velveteen.

  6. i'll get a shot up later tonight. i grabbed the single breast since the girl told me the double breast wasn't coming out this season and it came out yesterday. so pissed.

I heard that too. Thought it was weird since the db trench was all over the lookbook and the 3rd volume of Uniqlo paper. If it came out I gotta go over and grab it.

Anyone know if those shawl collar sweaters are coming out this season? They weren't listed as part of the f/w stuff in Paper #3.

  7. FINALLY got my deck hood.

Another classic NDG piece in all aspects -- quality design and concept, high quality materials, extra slim fitting (XL is slim on me and I rock M in CDG...???) and very weak construction (zip up the front and put my hands in the pockets to straighten out and pull down the jacket and the fuckin left pocket ripped along the seems... no biggie as the missus is a seamstress........

I would be so fucking pissed if this happened.

But yea fit is definitely on the slim side. I'm a small in just about everything but got the hoodie in M since that's what was left. So glad I sized up. Could have probably gone to a L no problem if I wanted to layer a sweater or oxford under it.

  8. The first pic in OP is not bad. I like the idea when it looks old school and just has a few thin straps over the foot.

All the rest of the shit is terrible. Patent leather, thick ass straps, wraparound, buckles, you're wearing about as much leather as an actual shoe. Look like the Gimp at the beach.
