  1. yeah man.it's not bad...Uniqlo and Zara in one mall...H&M down the street at Woodbridge...and then a Vans store at Bridgewater.I pretty much spend my whole paycheck at those places and gas to get to them.

Imho the Menlo Park/Woodbrige stores are better than their NYC counterparts because there is never a crowd and the "hot" items are almost always available in good sizes due to the lack of hipsters living in the NJ suburbs.

  2. The Jersey store is pretty nice and definitely not hectic. I'm not sure what kind of selection the flagship is supposed to have but the one in NJ near me seems to have all the basics in lots of colors. Prices are cheap although not the obscene bargains that the store had when it just opened ($25 jeans, $14 dress shirts, etc...). Last I went they still had the shuffle loom denim in just about all sizes on sale.

Right now the newer items seem to be velvet blazers for $80 and a cashmere sweater for around $100. Also some decent pullover hoodies at a $12 introductory price.

  3. I've been on the lookout for some nice looking scarfs but everything I see is usually patterned with the same boring checks or collegiate stripes. I saw Mike Lowry's polka dot one and loved that look.

Can you guys point me in the direction of some fashionable neckware?

  4. Why would people hate on Robin Williams for wearing Bape? Is he not "cool" enough for the brand? The guy went from having nothing to being a comic icon, a movie star, an academy award winner, and a showman with more career longevity than just about anyone. He has also done enough drugs to kill most of you twice over and has pulled more women in 2 decades than most ppl do in a lifetime while looking like a white dork in red suspenders. This dude can wear whatever the hell he wants.

Plus Bape designs actually fits his persona rather well, which is more than I can say for just about every single rapper/producer/wannabe that has jumped on the bandwagon about 4 years later than Robin Williams.

  5. I don't really like Express. They seem to do all thier business on thier dress shirts/button downs and basic business casual stuff, which are okay although not a great value.

But their seasonal items are almost always incredibally hideous and quickly banished to the $15 bin come sale time. Not to mention good design to them is to sequin a lion/dragon onto the back of some jeans or a jacket. I haven't been there recently so this may have changed. Also, I'm pretty sure Express introduced the diagonal strip dress shirt that I saw on jackasses galore two years ago. Thank god that trend died.

  6. Ok, so I was looking for simple black jeans for winter (no weird washes or distressing) and the only place around me that had them was Uniqlo. I bought two pairs (for $25 each!) and discovered I had bought my first pairs of tight jeans.

I was wondering how tight should jeans fit in the thigh, crotch, and butt. I felt pretty self-conscious wearing the jeans even though from what I can tell it was nowhere near the tightness of what some of you guys post on WDYWT. I'm used to like a Levis classic/straight fit, and this is is the first time having pants on that actually reveals the shape of my butt. Do you guys have trouble moving around? Did you guys switch to a kneeling action instead of a bending over action to pick up stuff? I think the jeans look great but this whole tightness thing is new to me.

Also, daaaaamn Uniqlo stuff is cheap!!! Non-selvage jeans are 2 for $49.99 and socks are 4 pairs for $10. A sales woman handed me a $10 off coupon for purchases over $50 so it was even a better deal. Selvage was on sale for $39.99 as well, although the legs were too wide for my taste. For no frills stuff this place is friggin awesome.

  7. Pretty funny, because there was an article in last friday's Wall Street Journal on Metropark. It was a profile on brands like Abercrombie, AE, AERO, etc... who are trying to capture the market of teens who are out of college by opening more "mature" stores.

Then they had an interview with some 17 year old girl testifying on how cool she thought Metropark was. Wtf does a store need a DJ for? This looks toolish as hell.

  8. Just wanted to say I got my Rider's Jacket at my door 2 days after payment. Loving it right now. Got scared when I saw the L size tag but the fit was good. I guess I'd be a fattie in Japan.

    Thx!

  9. The ugo cacciatori site says that Barneys carries their stock. I love that cardholder but I've never seen anything like it there. Does anyone know if it's available there or do you have to go through Rakuten.
