i think it's really absurd to call yourself a Christian company, especially when it comes to clothes. All that will succeed in doing is alienating and turning people off. It kind of does for me. I'm all for Christians, but what purpose does it serve in making jeans? Especially when you are dealing with high end denim with gold rivets. Aren't Christians supposed to be meek? maybe i'm not in on the joke or something.

in case you didn't notice, ilovespaz didn't bring up that sling&stones was a "christian" denim company. only when pressed by various SFers in this thread and in the gold stitching thread did he say he's a christian. the focus of the company seems to be much more on sustainability, unique materials, subtle styling cues, and on using the parable of david as metaphor for their own entry into the denim market. it's not like he's trying to evangelize the world by selling people expensive pants...

i was born and raised atheist, but after reading ilovespaz's posts on this board, i'd have no problem whatsoever buying a pair.

that said, a clothing company that's out there actively being a "christian clothing company," is ridiculous.

Excellent thanks for your response, I just ordered a w35 from xcoldricex and I'm a w34 in New Standard and w36 in Regular Ralfs so they should be perfect. Also the fact they're raw gives some flexibility.

Couldn't access the website main even after downloading the plug in - maybe it's cos I use a Mac so I couldn't check the sizing table?

Also w35 was the biggest i could find.

yeah, i'm not sure what's up with their site and macs... neither of my macs at home would work with it with ANY browser... had to do all my business from work.

it looks like 35 is the biggest they go, and measurements from the table are:

    waist: 95cm

    inseam: 92cm

    thigh: 36.5cm

    knee: 24cm

    hem: 23cm

  3. greentea: yep. toiletry bag.

minya: they're not sanforized, so i've planned on a little shrinkage in length. i had somet hem them to 87cm and i'm expecting to lose two or so post soak. i haven't had a chance to measure them yet, though.

LFC4ever: they're a slim, straight cut with a relatively low rise. the leg is cut pretty close to a new standard - sans the slight taper at the bottom of the NS. the somet guys are really helpful in choosing sizes - they'll have you do all sorts of measurements prior to ordering. i bought a 31, and for reference, i wear a 30 in APC, 32 in imperial, 32 in nudie.

ddml: i'll take photo requests - let me know what you'd like to see.

dismalfuture: the tags said 23,100 JPY, i believe, so i imagine you could find them for around that if you were in japan. the patch came out of the soak just fine. i won't be washing them very often, so i don't imagine it will become an issue.

  4. hey chicken-

the somets are pretty stiff on arrival. the denim is just under 14 oz (EDIT - actually, it's 13 oz), so it's fairly heavy. the denim is quite slubby, but it's a pretty fine weave and so is not extraordinarily rough.

    why are you hating?

    it's kinda legit hate, IMO.

people, myself included, got way up in arms when nike aped the minor threat cover to try and sell sneakers... but the same crew embraces supreme for doing it? and pays out the nose for it?

  8. you could take this two ways, cheapo:

    1) tom sawyer stylee, wherein you chop off your whities at mid-calf and go find a wheatstraw to chew, or

    2) yacht club jerkass, which requires you to buy a pink polo shirt (collar popped, of course) and cuff your jeans so they don't get wet when you're on the deck of that boat you own...

you just gots to isolate your cuffs from your slips, dog.

  9. not sure if anyone else got this... looks like a black raw model is coming:

"Thought you guys would be interested in some of the outtakes from some

    photos for the new site...

Sorry if we haven't replied to your emails lately, we promise it will get

    better soon.
