  1. Pictures! PICTURES!! :)

Oh by the way, can anyone run me by the current prices for 45rpm, if anyone's been to the US store? I am under the understanding that some of their jeans run ~$400. I've got a chunk of money and a trip to NYC planned, and I intend to use it. icon_smile_big.gif

  2. Rhythm, its best to get the back and front to match up as best you can to get the true size. If you let the front dip down, your measurement is going to be alittle smaller than it should be.

  3. obviously the girl who wants to be God should have no reservations about attention.

I assume that you could use a textile ink if you wanted to paint on the jeans. The coolest thing about Evisu's, IMO, is after they've been worn for a couple years the gull fades into a really cool color.

  4. Wow, that's a really absurd case. I would assume that APC is aware of the issue, and I doubt it will go on for THAT long. All the jeans I've ordered from APC were correctly sized (slightly large but not in the range of even a full inch too big). It's a relatively new thing in terms of how long they've been operating, and it may be related to the demand for their jeans. In any case, if anyone from APC reads this board or Styleforum, they are aware of what's going on.

  5. I dont know why im posting this..

Serge, you might appreciate this, I am enjoying an excellent 2001 bordeaux.. but i cant read the label 9or anything) so i cant tell you what it says.

EDIT: Oops. Drinking at home is bad.

  6. Ahh, good call Serge. I also think its possible that boot leg jeans may have a more drastic "corner" where the tapering from the seat to thighs stop, which creates sort of an inward bending shape.

  7. Velvetant -

Unisex (New Standards) - Slim-fitting, low-waisted, *slight taper* in leg although when laying flat they look completely straight from the knees down. Selvage denim. Similar fit to the LEVIS 1947, with a closer-fitting seat and a lower waist.

English (Anglaise) - Loose-fitting, low-waisted, completely straight legged. Selvage denim. http://www.nurs.or.jp/~ourlem/text/denim_26.html - pictures of worn-in Anglaise (7 years old).

Tight jeans - Close-fitting all the way to the bottom (tapers significantly at ankles). Non-selvage denim.

Rescue - "boot cut" although leg opening is not larger than the knee. Selvage denim. Higher-waisted than the Unisex, although still lower than standard Levi's. relaxed fit but not as loose as the Anglaise.

In order of bagginess to closeness:

    Anglaise, Rescue, Unisex, Tight

Lowest rise to highest (to the best of my knowledge):

    Tight, Anglaise, Unisex, Rescue

  8. No. Levis has never (not to my knowledge, anyway) released a 501 with sanforized denim. Type 3 "trucker" jackets are the only classic Levis piece that has sanforizing - Levi's experts feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I believe that Lee was the first company to utilize sanforizing for their jeans.

  9. I love the TAG Carrera and all of its incarnations, but I will probably pick up an IWC as my first high end watch. I don't like Pateks - I don't care if they have the best-made movements in the world, they're pretty damn ugly.

  10. To the original poster - if youre jeans have been washed once, youre fine. One-wash, two-wash, three-wash, hell, as long as you're beating them up, you can get fading after ten-wash.

Also, bike-riding wears in the thighs like none other, and going to the beach a couple times a week will get to the butt a lot from sitting in the sand.

  11. Rolls Royce of denim = 45rpm - no question. See them in person if you don't believe me. icon_smile_big.gif

PRPS have extremely unflattering cuts, IMO. I tried on some 5EPs this weekend and they are amazing - I would rate them higher than PRPS. In fact, calling PRPS the Rolls Royce of denim is pretty ignorant, considering that its features are pretty much standard operating procedure in Japan for premium denim mills, aside from the organic cotton (but hell, Howies sells that for less than half the price)
