Don't know about you Ring-Ring, but if my Regular Ralfs were an inch slimmer through the thigh they'd have to be stretch. Of course, I ordered a size smaller than usual as Ralfs tend to have a big waist.

1. 9.5" rise in front, 14" rise in back (low)
2. Slim Fit
3. Slight Boot Leg
4. Right Hand twill, 3x1 weave
5. 15oz selvage denim
6. Vegetable indigo, rope-dyed, dark with a slightly green hue
7. Dual Ringspun yarn is a must
8. Lower rear pocket placement
9. Tan Stitching, excepting indigo back pocket design, and small red insignia (similar to 45rpm "R", Diesel "D")
10. Non-sanforized (I like the twist)
11. Non-bleached (ecru) weft threads
12. Rivets in all the original places, including crotch (but no suspender buttons)

All APC experience for me has been shipped and delivered in 2-3 days. My guess is that they're backed up at the moment, which is possibly related to their web page being down.

Yep.
Quote: I’m feeling the cut and wash of this particular one (check the link)… The Eternal 811 that, thanks to Google’s translator, is a 9 month wear with 7 washes style. It appears he thinks that the 811 is a wash style. It is the cut. If he zoomed back a page, he would see that the wearer bought them from an auction in a 1-wash state, with a little bit of wearing.

Quote: which style of apc is quiet similar to dior denim s/s '05? thanks in advance....
Thankfully none of them. The "tight jeans" is the closest you're going to get to Dior Homme jeans. It's super slim, tapered cut, but the rise isn't as low as D-Homme.

Someone should tell the dork who wrote that review that the jeans in the denim gallery he's linking WERE worn in by a person, not acid washed or anything.

I do not think that any of the APC jeans are particularly relaxed in the butt area (although they aren't super-tight), with the exception of the Anglaise (and perhaps Rescue, but no personal experience) which also has full-cut legs.

I as well like the stitching on Nudies (as apparent in my avatar )

Sugarcane, Denime and Studio D'Artisan all make really cool 506xx style jackets. BTW, 506-style is the best

If you have a problem with the multitude of threads about APC and selvage denim, the solution is very, very simple: don't read them.

Haha, if I had a mind for business I would start an online retailer and be the first to carry the full Nudie collection and ship them to the US. Unfortunately, I don't have a mind for business.

Nudie RR Selvage are $180 - 215, depending on where you get them.
I heard that the APC prices are now $120 (up from $110), so you can see that the unwashed denim market started to take off more, and they're aware of it.

I only roll them up if they are too long.

Thanks for the update, Batch.

Really, the rescues are higher waisted than RRs? That's interesting - the high waist of the RRs is my only gripe with them.

What are the APC "hipster" jeans?
I don't know what anyone could say to give you a better idea - they're distinctively different jeans. If you wear the jeans extensively, tight areas will stretch out a bit until you wash them.

They've been washed several times. Sorry Geowu.

Definitely Unisex.
I'm glad to see so many new jeans styles from APC. APC was what got me into unwashed jeans in the first place, so I'm really looking forward to breaking in a pair of the "tight" jeans.

There are some pictures here of someone's RRs after two months (last post on the page).

I will post it as soon as I can find the info again about the Shuttle Loom manufacturer. I found it searching around on Google one time and now I can't seem to find it again.
What an interesting discussion. Urban, you have the Vegetable Indigo SA's? I'm curious if they use the 15 oz denim or not.

There are some links on their site that pop up in a new window, and you can use Google's translator to translate those pages.
The most important part they have is the sillhouette page. Most questions you have should be answered there.

John, there is at least one company in Hong Kong that manufactures Shuttle Looms, but that is all that I know of.

Likewise, thanks for the knowledge as always.
On the whole, I can't really argue anymore on this, it's quite hopeless to try - you've got every angle covered. I'm convinced, I will now go about slashing all the selvage edges off my jeans and I'll only buy non-selvage, like a cynical cult hater. Kidding. Kind of makes me more appreciative of selvage, since I know now that it is unnecessary and done only to perpetuate the historical attraction, even at greater cost to the label (or perhaps as a gimmick to the less educated).

Quote: if I use the same thread, and keep the stitch length and tension the same, then you'd be hard pressed to tell which was done by which.
Good point, but anyone on these forums posting about the intracacies of selvage denim is definitely what I would consider a hard presser. You do not think that the old machine would be more prone to error, and that perhaps the stitches might not be entirely consistent because of possibly lower mechanical integrity? Do you not think that the older loom might do an ever-so-slightly sloppier job of weaving the yarn?
I understand that the yarn and dyeing are the important aspects of creating the texture, character and imperfections in the jeans, but when all these variables are the same, I DO believe that you will be able to tell the difference between two different sheets of denim that were woven on two different looms, and perhaps correctly predict which sheet came from which loom.
Of course, I'm very open to the possibility of being wrong, otherwise I wouldn't be discussing it. And youre right, I do love analogies.
