Only ordered/preordered from them via proxy which is what he prefers. Yeah the ‘error edition’ Little Hand did for Lua were really too much for me, but the Neat Style model looks promising.

Looks like Neat Style are going to be stocking Little Hand now as well as the BoT and Denim Bridge WWII stuff https://www.instagram.com/p/DL6FfJDzH4S/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Think this is some of the heaviest fades I've come across so far of the Warehouse Greenbaum denim. Getting cigarette burn repair at Rockets https://www.instagram.com/p/DLRA2K-TWNK/?img_index=1

SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)
Lorcan replied to minya's topic in superdenim
Groover also do some 50s style acetate frames with wire nose pads. Not sure if they’re as nice as Hakusan but they do seem to have a few North Americans / overseas stockists https://spectacles.groover.tv/dealers/ -
Yeah taking a measuring tape to it now and mine's pretty close to the one wash measurements everywhere except the sleeves which have shortened to around 60cm. In practice the back length kinda sits up shorter when not pulled flat, but that's shaping/bunching around the cinch buckle with wear rather than shrinkage - might make a difference in the how the worn photo looks vs when new though.

hey, I wear a 42, I think I could wear a 40 for a very trim t-shirt only fit, although I suspect buttoning the collar on a 40 might be tight. I can fit a sweatshirt under the 42. I have FW outerwear in a mix of 40 and 42- I also have a 1922 506xx in a 40 which is a great fit (although I’ve also never machine washed it). Wear 17 in FW shirts (although I like a roomy fit in shirts) and a sweatshirt in a 40 for a trimmer fit so yeah bit of a mix even though I’d say FW is actually fairly consistent sizing compared to some brands. First photo is after 2 warm soaks and still probably larger than the listed one-wash measurements. 2nd photo is after 2 machine washes, plus another couple hand washes/soaks. Fit has been pretty stable after machine washing, lengths have continued shortening a bit, maybe some marginal overall tightening up but nothing too unpredictable.

SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)
Lorcan replied to minya's topic in superdenim
Thanks, yeah measurements definitely look bigger than some brands. I have some Freewheelers shirts I really like but find their collar proportions are sometimes a bit small so the longer point collar on the Big Yank stuff appealed for a change of pace. I've tried the Rite Stuff before but mis-sized and it was nice but maybe I'd been spoiled by FW shirting as it didn't seem as special by comparison, maybe Big Yank won't either, will see I guess. Anatomica / Big Yank etc. seem to have a few different online stores... but maybe they all ship from the same place. I was looking at the 1920s yoke model -

Any opinions on Big Yank (ie. current Japanese/35 Summers not the vintage Big Yank) shirts? Anyone ordered direct from their online store? -

Hah I've been looking at that pair... someone buy them so I don't have to. Might be a bit slim in the thighs for me vs some of the current 601 models. There's another pair in sz32 still with tags and flasher too but more expensive https://zenmarket.jp/en/auction.aspx?itemCode=1183331150

The button is a literal bootleg (living up to the name) of a vintage promo button: https://rockposters.com/collections/venue-winterland/products/auction-aor-2-53-bg-29-jefferson-airplanme-muddy-waters-1966-promo-button-near-mint?variant=44786115313943 The accompanying poster for that show:

Think it's a repro but I do like the fading. Vintage ones in minty/deadstock condition can be pretty spendy - like this one https://capri-kyoto.ocnk.net/product/5655 - although this one is cheaper by comparison https://vintage.matin.jp/?pid=178753129 : I actually just got a CSF repro M-35 off Mercari (they are made by Kaoru rather than Konaka). Will have to post some pics sometime. It has laurel leaf WWII style buttons which I don't think are correct vs the sewn zinc US army ones most vintage and repro have (I didn't notice in the photos tbh, only when it arrived) unless there are some supposed rare vintage examples I don't know about.

Cross Over seems to have WWII jackets available in a couple of sizes if someone is interested and doesn't want to wait 15 months for one https://crossovers.shop/items/66f2898b59c112025b9c89fd

SUPERDENIM SMALL QUESTIONS THREAD (Use instead of making new threads)
Lorcan replied to minya's topic in superdenim
I always wondered if versions with the acetate layer made them sweatier or not much different. I like the hook clasp ones a lot. Been tempted by the Buzz iteration before. Alpaca wool is apparently twice as moisture wicking as merino and maybe not as bad a choice in warmer temperatures as you’d think. okay sandwiched with a couple other layers in a deck jacket it’s not ideal in 40 degrees! but thinner wool/merino base layers in warmer weather isn’t actually that stupid for temperature regulation -

I have an older FW deck jacket that’s more of a ‘what if’ than a repro model (same as This one). Its lighter oz duck canvas rather than deck cloth and no interlining that the FW N-1s have so not quite as warm and I’ve gotten a lot of use out of it. Definitely not gathering dust. Sure it isn’t the last word in breathability but it’s fine. If I was that worried about fabric performance I probably wouldn’t wear denim all day 😄 My only gripe with it is it’s been more prone to stitching breakdown than my other FW stuff. I never owned one but suspect tanker jackets with the melton lining rather than deck jacket alpaca are probably more year round usable too. -

Current 1944s are inseam L34 only I think as well? The finish on the laurel leaf button looks wrong, and the diagonal orange stitch next to it. Probably missing a few other things... I'm no LVC expert, but I think some genuine older MIUSA LVC 1944 have the R on the red tab incorrectly too? 😄

ha well it sure ain't my sewing skills that's perfect so must be a happy accident! not visible but for the patch I used a hem offcut from my TCB good luck jeans

Some pics of my 50s as I mentioned them in the Denim Blunders thread and realised I hadn't shared before.

Well for my sins I was on styleforum off and on 😅. Early 2010s I was more into Engineered Garments and the early Soloist collections, stuff like that. I had APCs and black LVC 1978 501 but wasn’t really a denim nerd. Late 2010s- weaker pound post-brexit I slowed down on proxying anything from Japan and less interested in clothes in general for a bit. In 2020 I got some TCB 50s and that ended up being a tipping point for me (should post some pics of them come to think of it). Lots more denim and repro stuff followed and I found myself lurking over here often and eventually felt like I might as well join in. Like, if I’m browsing anyway to see what people are saying about Slash Overalls or something then why not? It’s a more relaxed vibe here as well. styleforum still seems prone to odd nonsense and drama in the main threads. And like other people on here I'm of that age that grew up with forums and find the new social media landscape just weird.

There was a limited edition wwii jacket produced with samurai. Think it sold very fast. https://www.samurai-jeans.com/en/collections/jacket/products/os555xx-15oz男気デニムジャケット
