  1. It was my 220 that didn’t shrink as much, they ended up about half an inch above tag size. The 221 shrank to exactly tag size, so it’s negligibly the same.

@Geeman thigh on 224 for size 30 is just under 12”/30cm after shrinking, hem at 7.5”/19.5cm.

Interested in seeing what the shrinkage is like in the 224.

Mine shrunk tag size (30”) in the waist, and are at 32.5” in length, so pretty close to tag size there as well.

  3. @obama np! My 220a and 221 are both w31. And yeah, the waist of the 220a didn't shrink quite as much as the 221 in the same size.

The denim for the 224 is different from both. Really thick twill lines and visually slubbier after the first wash (warm machine wash on gentle, no detergent).

  4. Actually, compared to the Kyoto’s, the 224 have a slightly higher rise and are a little slimmer. The Kyoto’s have also been through the dryer, so they have shrunk more and I have a feeling these 224’s could shrink a little more in the waist.

  5. Can confirm that the waist measurement for lot 224 matches the size charts, size 30 was 81cm before wash, shrunk to about 77cm after a warm machine wash and air dry.

Thighs are about 30cm measured at the crotch seam post-wash. Really nice fit, glad I took a size down from my 220a and 221. I’ll post photos soon! My only reference for the fit of these is my Kyotos which are a size 32 but fit similarly.

Anyone know which retailers are getting which batches?

Not sure if you've seen on social media, but first batch is arriving at S&S now, and the second batch will be going to Barnstormers.

  7. Yeah. Interesting cut. It’s very straight and somewhat roomy in the legs, but the top block is very narrow. I could button them raw, but if they shrink even 1cm they’ll be unwearable. Shame, the denim is really nice.

  8. I pulled my 220s off the shelf and have been living in them for the last 2 days. I forgot how comfortable they are, especially after a run through the dryer.

Went for the Denime but ended up with some 1001XX. Interestingly, the red tab is stitched over into the jean.

Nice score! My 800xx had the tab stitched down the same way, but I just unplucked the threads and its a normal red tab now. I think that helps them skirt legal trouble with Levi, if I had to guess.

  10. Was just reaching out to S&S regarding adding a hem to my pre-order of the SOA03XX. Decided against it after looking at the post-shrink length and wanting to wear these a little long. Most importantly, the first batch should arrive at S&S in the next couple of weeks and shipped shortly after. Excited to see these in person.

Thanks @blooming  I found a pair of 221 in W32 L32 last night and pulled the trigger :)

My 220 was in w32 L30. It fits great length wise with one fold but I haven’t washed it yet.  Trust it will be okay without fold after shrinkage?

I hope the L32 in 221 will not be too long after shrinkage with one fold.

I am cheap. I always think the hemming is costly compared to the cost of the whole jeans 🤷‍♂️

Mine measure about 33.75 in the inseam after shrinking. I can get away with a big single or a moderately sized double cuff.

The Type2 has a slimmer top block. The XX is known for hip flare, the XX Type2 is slimmer up there.

This bodes well for how these will fit me. I have fairly high-set hips, so hip flare on anything that isn't super high-rise happens in a weird place on me

Some guys have shared their measurements already (I haven't washed a pair of 221 yet). I think @blooming was one of them.

I don't think I posted full measurements, but I found that they took about two washes to get all of the shrink out. The dryer helped as well, but not as much as I would have originally thought @CharlieMike. If I bought a second pair of these, I'd go one size down since they are slightly bigger in the waist/hips than I'd like. My pair is size 31, and the waist measures about 31.5 after 2 hot washes and a run through the dryer, if that helps.
