  1. Yeaaah, I for sure could have sized down to a 30, but since these haven't been through the dryer yet, I'm sure I can get another half-size of shrink if I really needed. I'm liking them as a slightly loose fit, anyway. It gives them a unique spot in my wardrobe.

220's after about 3 hot washes to get the shrink out. I was initially worried that the size 31 would be a bit big after the first wash, but they are right on now.

  3. Fading pretty fast, and I got some nice faint marbling from the two hot washes I gave to shrink. Pretty happy with how they are looking. Once I give them a bit more wear and get them hemmed, I'll post some pics.

  4. Initial observations, the denim feels CHUNKY. Even as they sit drying on the rack after a 1.5 hour hot soak, they are holding their shape and are super rigid. They look to have shrunk a good amount, but my impatient self threw them in the water immediately and didn't get pre-soak measurements.

  5. Mine just arrived this morning, currently soaking in the tub with the hottest water my hands can touch (which is pretty hot after years of working in food service). Had a lot of room for shrinkage after trying on raw, so these should be a nice fit.

  6. Depends on how you want them to fit. I have both 33 and 34 of the 710. I wear the 33 more regularly, but both sizes fit, obviously the 34 being a bit more roomy in the waist/hips/thighs. Seems if you are looking to replicate the fit of your vintage 501s, the 34 might be a better fit for you.

  7. ^Thank you for that- ordered in a size 31 from Bears and it validates my choice. Don't currently have an XX-style* so these will be a fun addition.

*Unless you count Resolute 711, but those have a short rise so I don't feel redundant with this.

  8. Some progress shots of my 710s as they dry outside on this windy day in SoCal. Worn 6-7 days a week, washed weekly. Tracks and roping are coming in nicely, and the all-over fades are a vibrant, almost electric blue now.

Wonder if we ever crossed paths

I was playing in a heavy instrumental/drone band called A Film in Color if that rings a bell, we were based outta NJ/NYC, but played up and down the east coast pretty regularly outside of longer tours. What was your band?

@MJF9 same as the above, wasting my 20s in a van driving cross country to play incredibly loud music to like, 20-30 people a night.
