Keep going @PrettyBoyTony. Once the 50s get past that initial slow fading and start to pop, they look like totally different jeans. Mine are just getting there after almost a year. I've also started working in the coffee industry again, and occasionally get behind the bar, which is giving it some solid wear and tear and dirt. I also just picked up a new pair of both 50s and 60s with the indigo tab a few weeks ago, too. Excited to start the process over again once my current pairs get a bit more trashed.

Boncoura 66 is fairly similar to the 710 denim.

I wear a belt AND have my cinch fastened on my 30s. No one is getting them off me without my permission.

That sashiko knee repair is perfect. I don't know why, it just is.

I "get" the difference between old and new Denime (I have a couple of Orizzonti-era pairs and then Warehouse-era 220A, 221, 224, and 233 jacket), and I do very much see them as different companies, sort of in line with b_F. I love them both—New Denime under Warehouse, particularly the first run of the 14.5oz denim seen in the 220a, 221, and 233, since the denim has a buttery but substantial handfeel and fades beautifully. The Orizzonti pairs I have, the Kyoto and black 66s, are way more packed with character in the way of flawed stitching and more textured/irregular denim. Neither is better. You could easily argue that the Orizzonti, and therefore the Shins and Wego era, are of a lower manufacturing quality than the current run under Warehouse, since consistency is variable. Still, those details we appreciate, at least on this forum. That goes to say that Denime has changed hands and evolved through different eras of ownership and manufacturing, but has never fallen out of place as an influential and essential brand in the reproduction-focused denim world. I love all Denime. From Hayashi-san owned and operated, all the way up to the Shiotani brothers taking the reins and giving us their interpretation of the classics. If the newer Denime doesn't appeal to you, that's fine, and I get it. There's deadstock from all eras if you know where to look, and that's the beauty of this hobby. Thanks for listening to my TED Talk.

At the end of the day, they are still a red tab, just overdyed. They'll prob turn a nice purplish red after a handful of washes. I think it'll look nice!
-
I would err on the side of them shrinking beyond the listed measurements since they specifically call out that the denim will shrink with subsequent washes, and they've only washed it once.

I always forget about the idea of being a for-hire barista with a cart. I've seen successful cafes that started off that way, might be worth looking into... a single group Synesso would be my vibe.

Nice home setup. I ran a cafe in its early days on a k30 and a gs3. Sometimes a simple setup gives wonderful results. I may be going back into the professional coffee world after a 6 year break. I miss making my whole life coffee...

http://tcbjeans.com/2025/03/03/51429 It also seems like they are making some changes to models with a red tab—it'll be overdyed indigo before attaching. They are starting after the upcoming restock of 30s jeans and jackets, but the wording seems to imply that all models will eventually have the new tabs.

Probably 1-1cm. Not much. Both my 1101 and 0105 had about the same amount of shrinkage.

I have a pair of SD-100, and I love them. Part of my rotation, probably get a couple days of wear a week. I'd say they are tapered in the way a 60s cut is tapered, not like a "relaxed-taper" type cut i.e. SD-108.

My gyro fell apart yesterday and got on my pants, so it was time to give my 50s their second wash. Probably been about 3-4 months since the last one. Lap and thigh fades are really starting to pop.

Thanks! I didn't measure, but based on snugness and knowing my true waist measures about ~31", I'd guess these ended up around 30-30.5". Based on how these fit, I could easily fit into a size 32, but I don't mind them being on the slimmer side; the cut looks nice regardless.

Sorry for the dusty mirror, I'm lazy. 1001xx in banner denim, size 31. Happy with the fit. Been realizing that I comfortably sit between a few sizes for 501 type cuts, so I've enjoyed picking up different pairs to play with that, i.e. sizing up on 66-type cuts, sizing down on 47-55 type cuts etc.

I also have a soft spot for Hinoya because the people there were really, really chill and friendly when I shopped there on my quick Tokyo layover last year. Something, something, good business builds good customers, etc. Anyway, I got them, gave them a warm machine wash, and they fit nicely. There are no surprises there since I'm comfortably a size 31 in every other Warehouse pair I have. The Banner Denim charm is pretty immediately apparent; it's so crunchy and textured.

Sadly they've already shipped. Heavily, duly noted for future purchases*. Thanks @jkbrwn. *That I definitely for sure will not be making under any circumstances...
-
I swear I've made my final jeans purchase*. Snagged the last pair of size 31 1001xx in banner denim from Hinoya since it's one somewhat essential* thing missing from my collection. Does anyone have any tips on shrinking that fabric? Does it take a few washes to get it? Hot water with/ no detergent is my go-to for shrink-to-fit these days. *I have no impulse control, and these statements are probably untrue

Really nice fit @PrettyBoyTony. I've also been wearing my 220A more regularly lately. They are indeed very comfortable for heavier mid-weight denim (typing this as I'm wearing a jacket made from the same material Do you wash yours pretty regularly? I've been holding off on mine because I'm finally starting to see some contrast show up.
-
I've only taken my 50s off to sleep over the last 3 days. Perfect jeans, truly.
-
That's kinda just the fit. You'll notice less of it as they break in and form creases in that area. Photos can be weird, when you're wearing them and moving around, no one will really see that. If you really want to avoid that, you'd have to size down for less room in that area, which wouldn't necessarily be a better fit overall.
-
I, too, will size up on the next pair of 50s (currently 32, might be 33 or 34, depending). They give a better fit and look a little more as intended when sized up.

After wearing in my 233 jacket, the denim is starting to feel exactly like my 220A. I think 220A, 221, and the jackets are all the same denim (except for the 54 jacket).
