    Chino pants

Yes. A nice, caring touch by the manufacturer.
  2. Likewise sentiments to the birthday boys from me! May your days be filled with fun & frolic!
  3. As someone who considers leg shrinkage a bummer, I've often considered trying to recreate a device like this. There's a pic of a more elaborate version in one of the vintage denim books but I couldn't find it online. I
  4. Monsivais cap, SC liner coat, WOM, White's
  5. Double 0, Wasn't it you who said the beige colored Brown's Beach stuff was reminiscent of Terry Wogan? You may be experiencing some mild karma😉.
  6. So far I’ve not grown bored of the heritage workwear thing. I do recall getting bored with the vintage rockabilly uniform back when I was into that - gabardine shirts, pleated pants, suits, and such, probably due to my gradual disillusionment with that scene. Funny thing was, once I’d emotionally disconnected from it, on my occasional sporadic interactions with that world, I found I was having a much better time than I ever used to, and now I don’t mind mixing in that style of dress sometimes. But then again, from the mid 1980’s on, cuffed selvedge denim jeans were most definitely a part of that look, and I could never imagine wearing anything denim that wasn’t that. I will say that I started to find the basic Levis 40’s/50’s pattern kinda boring, so when fancier, more whimsical looking, turn of the (last) century waist overalls type jeans became available, I was captivated. Now I’m happy wearing either one. I’ve occasionally thought to myself, should I get some kind of neutral, contemporary cut suit of clothes (appropriate for certain occasions…) but then when I look at people wearing that stuff it just looks like shit to me. Uncomfortable low waist pants, pockets pulling, generally unflattering silhouettes. Maybe it’s just the particular set of goggles I’m viewing through but there it is.
  7. Yes. Same on mine (as yet unwashed). Noticed it in the sunlight this morning.
  8. Yahoo auctions may be the best bet. I've certainly seen copies for sale there.
  9. Staying with un-soaked for now. Time will tell how long I can keep that going.
  10. Regarding Japanese heritage denim brands, I'd say the narrow focus on WW2 era Levis is a recent phenomenon. When I first saw Sugar Cane & others in Japan in the mid 1990s, it was a more diverse array of styles, some repro, some their own spin on old styles. I have a Full Count catalogue somewhere that offered jeans & other denim items with white stitching, and some Levis style pieces in chino twill type fabric. It was all very cool. I scanned & shared it on Denimbro a while back. If I can find the files I'll share here.
  11. Usually I need to be in pressed suits, & such on stage but occasionally I can get away with workwear. FW, Ooe (double knee chambray), CHUP, Paraboot.
  12. Apparently I've been neglecting this thread in favor of the 'pictures' one so didn't notice all the cheering Happy Birthdays until just now. Thanks you all!!! On the day we had a quiet gathering at home, just Mrs. CSL, her sister & the bro in law, but the night before I was part of a show in LA where I got to be made a fuss of by my circle of music friends.
  13. Is today the official 'start wearing' day? I've totally forgotten...
  14. Here's the pre soak try-on (forgive the fuzzy slippers please....). The waist is pretty spot on. Apparently I'm more of a 38 than 36 these days. Perhaps I'll be keeping these raw. We'll see. The denim is much softer, & more pliable than I expected.
  15. Just got home and they're here!!! In time for CSL's 60th b'day party.
  16. Might they be the ones made by the boot company, Clinch? They made some with an extra wide cut like that.
  17. Old hat, BR. RMC, High Grade, Companion, Lofgren
  18. And of course put them in the freezer for that 5 minutes (to kill the bacteria). Perhaps a hot oven would work too?...
  19. Mostly I've ordered FW shirts from them. I did buy a pair of 601XX at one point and the measurements seemed to be accurate.
  20. I recall seeing an intricately constructed wooded bowl by 00.
  21. Yes. Russell. I spoke with him on Denimbro & asked him to make something for me. Unfortunately he didn't have the time to take it on.
  22. ^^^ Wonder what became of the Circle A guy?...
