Where did you order from Duke? I would like to order a copy but am crap at doing online stuff, so any help for a 'non-tech/last century' fellow like myself would be more than appreciated.

    @Broark beat me

    It’s an easy process Doc

They have updated the preorder - seems like most EMS destination charges are included - UK is, preordered mine, too.

Yeah, I knew the postage was included - I was actually just wondering aloud if there’ll be delays and if I’ll be stung for customs duties

Wonder who's going to be the first person to score the new 'Levis jackets book' (Levis type 1,2 and 3). Looks like another Berberjin collab. Out in October.

Well I’d ordered it - who knows what the postage will be like

I’m a natural 35” waist so always have to choose between a 34 or 36. As I also like to tuck I go for the bigger size. The huge rise on these make very comfortable for as I have both long legs and torso.

sorry your size didn’t work out bud :(

I’ve got a big arse and my plan collapsed over the chart reading - but the jeans got a good home.

Yours look great though and really suit your proportions. Quality

    Looking smart for a change...

I'm finding them quite roomy, after a couple of days' wear... for my body type, sizing up 2" from my usual produces a comfortably snug fit around the old love handles with plenty of space in the rest of the top block. Loitering with hands in pockets is a breeze, compared to my usual snobbish thumb-hook

It seems most folk that persevered got what they wanted - I’m starting to think I just made an arse of it and gave up to soon ... although I had I very specific plan which did rely on the charts

Duke; perhaps he means extra cm in the rise?

Possibly buddy, and I do think the rise has been very flattering on a lot of folks. Gives the impression of a longer leg.

Worthless without pics, I know, but I just received a 506xx in the mail... someone local selling BNWT in my size (44) for about $USD 300... man. I have some fine denim, but FW is in a class of its own. Was after something to take the pressure off my well-worn LVC 555 506xx, but this jacket could well supplant it, on first impression. The weight and irregularity of the denim is greater – couple of extra inches in the length, which I was not looking for, but it turns out it allows for better proportions in details such as yoke position, pocket placement (larger and more central) and drape of pleat. I think @Duke Mantee has an earlier iteration of this jacket (probably several.. heh); I seem to remember seeing a comparison he posted on DB a good while back of 506 & 507xx

I’m so glad you’re pleased with it - I’ve said it before but I think it’s worth repeating, FW are quite neglected, in relative terms, when it comes to denim. Because of the extent of their catalogue I don’t think the market outside of Japan sees them as a serious denim manufacturer.

I didn’t bother with the ‘43 506XX - I think the fad on WWII designs is just that, and although it’s fun seeing brands produce their take on war economy design for once a FW product didn’t inspire - but yeah, I have all the rest in the first version lengths. What’s the tag number on yours?

@JDelage, yeah, when you get a chance that'd be great—there're some on sale at East West that I've been eyeing for what feels like well over a year now, and I think now might be the time, fit allowing

Just ask Jamie at Eastwest ... he’s a good guy and would be happy to advise. I know he’s got good experience of other brands, and used to post on other forums, so might also be able to give you direct comparison.

I really do like the style of a lot of the Belafonte clothing ... I’m just too committed to a particular route now to want to change

Interesting article about a short-lived new town/overspill modernist ‘Lego’ estate in Runcorn (of all places!). I wasn’t aware of this place at all.

“... the particular talents of a man who was more concerned with setting an agenda for everyone else to follow than in creating failsafe designs unworthy of controversy.”

Erm, no - not when you’re pissing public money up the wall. I see too much of this - there’s a great confusion about the role, and more the ability, of the architect (a small ‘a’ is sufficient), mostly due to highfalutin tosh like this.

@Duke Mantee curious how those RMC N1 compare to the Lofgren M43?

The JL have more structure and are a lot more refined in their presentation. The N1 are soft as butter but look a lot more like a military boot. They’re different boots for different reasons and tougher to compare than you’d first think. However the JL fit me better so that’s why the N1 are for sale
