How do the 1101 compare with the 0105 in terms of fit? Obviously I’ve seen photos but would be good to hear a perspective from someone who has both. I’ve been considering a pair of the XX as I want a heavier denim and don’t really want to go 0105 again. Is the front rise similar on the 1101?

@beautiful_FrEaK thanks for posting that, I was about to go hunting for the link. Seems like you’re right and the resulting fit is as intended and I guess the roomy butt section sort of makes sense for sitting down comfort. Reminds me of the Ironheart pocket spacing a bit where it has a practical application that ends up impacting the silhouette. If I could get the beer fat to go to my butt instead of my belly I think the problem would be solved.

This is how mine end up looking most of the time. The front sags a bit (to the point) and the back is super high. Doesn’t bother me too much when I don’t have a shirt tucked or am wearing a sweater but feels off sometimes when I tuck my shirt in. I’m also 6’1 which probably makes it more apparent. Definitely not the end of the world and still a nice fit in general but yeah, would love a more balanced rise.

@smoothsailor yeah! I thought it was the way I was standing too. I found myself constantly trying to pull the front up to compensate but that results in looking like some inappropriate and uncomfortable Robert Plant impersonation. It was only coming here and seeing the mentions above of the back rise that the penny dropped.

I must admit I’m sort of falling out of love a little with my 0105. I have two pairs on the go, both about 2 years old. One I’ve washed about weekly and the other only once. I can’t fault the fabric but I have a love hate with the fit. When worn pulled up properly with a tucked shirt/tee, the disparity in the rise creates a really unattractive illusion of the front sagging under my belly. Now I’m not saying I couldn’t do with losing a pound or two but it’s a look I don’t get with other jeans. I also get a bit of a bootcut vibe when the leg twist gets so severe it flicks the hem out but to be fair that’s more a symptom of straight leg fits in general than these specifically. Despite the above, I still think it’s a solid fit but I’d love a slightly lower back rise.

@cheapmuthafukr I often see people ask ‘D-x vs 000’ and I think we all know the truth is there’s no wrong answer! Huge congrats on the house. As a Brit my only knowledge of the Blue Ridge Mountains is the mentions in many of the songs I listen to and the subsequent Googling in awe at the photos!

Bought this beauty. My ‘grail’ acoustic guitar. Martin D-28. I think it’s from around 2018. In my 25 years of playing, I’ve purchased a few nice electric guitars but never a higher end acoustic. I’d been casually looking for a D-28 and then a family friend mentioned he was selling this one. He’d been gifted it by a family member but always found it too large to comfortably play. He sold this to me so he could get a 000-sized alternative and it worked out well for all of us. Being able to buy a used guitar whilst knowing how well it had been cared for was an opportunity I couldn’t miss! Looking forward to holding on to this one forever.

Thanks! Yeah these are ones. The size down was way too tight on the waist and I just wanted to very slightly slim some of the billowing top. I warm washed them and although I didn’t get any shrinkage (a good thing), it softened the fabric enough that they just drape more attractively overall.

Posted a few pics of the above in the Chinos thread. Decided after a wash I’m happy with the fit as they are. -
Posting these following a short discussion in the general questions thread. I was looking for some pleated chinos that were available in these three colours. They’re Spellbound French Trousers. Super nice fabric, softens up really good after a wash. Very high waisted and pretty wide leg but they’re exactly what I was looking for. Tried to do different outfits to show how versatile they are:

Thanks yeah good call. I might actually just leave it, they’re such nice pants and to be honest once they’ve had a few wears it’ll possibly settle a lot. It’s still a pretty stiff fabric. Also making sure they’re worn high enough helps. I’m used to wearing high waisted but it seems more crucial to keep these at the right height for the right silhouette. I’ll post some pics in them in WAYWT at some point. -

Thanks! I’m not too knowledgable about adjustments really as I’ve only ever had hemming and tapering done. It sounds like darting a pleat might be feasible, it’s only a slight adjustment I’m looking for. I’ll take them to a tailor and see how I get on. -

Has anyone successfully had pleated pants altered by way of a slightly slimmer seat/thigh? By slightly I mean slightly and not attempting to turn them into flat fronts. I have three pairs of the excellent Spellbound French chino which fit absolutely perfect in the waist/leg other than being ever so slightly full in the top which says more about my skinny butt/legs than the pants themselves. If it’s a simple job for a tailor then I might let them loose on them otherwise I’m happy enough with the fit to leave them as is.
