  1. Thanks yeah unfortunately she needs a 34 which is apparently much larger than any Japanese offerings. Might have to be a Western maker like Dawson that caters for bigger sizes.
  2. Nice, thanks all. I might’ve imagined the better choice in LVC but I’m sure I remember going into Cinch in Soho and seeing a decent range of women’s styles somewhere in-line with the styles available to men. This was obviously a number of years ago, still Cone days. TCB Norma look nice but like the Anatomica only seem to go up to about a 30. I actually have a bnwt pair of 0105 sitting in the closet which she tried and with the right waist size might work well. Dawson looks like a good option also!
  3. Does anyone know of a maker with a decent selection of Women’s jeans? My other half wants a pair of regular/wide straights with a high waist in some kind of dry selvedge. I’m sure I remember LVC having a pretty good range at one point but no longer seems to be the case. Anatomica’s 618 Marilyn looks absolutely on the money but sadly only goes up to 30. Ideally she’d want a 34 or 36.
  4. Had no idea there was so much disdain for ONI! Just read some of the comments on the other page. I had a few pairs 6 or 7 years ago. Prior to that I’d been wearing mainly repro stuff so at the time, the heavyweight and loose weave fabrics appealed as a slightly different option. Back to wearing repro now but still got a few pairs of ONI in the closet. I agree the fits aren’t amazing, but I do think some of their denims are pretty nice regardless of how old the guy weaving it really is. Heres a few pics of mine over the years. As a biker, the 22oz natural indigo was a good winter jean and the Secret Denim is by far the softest heavyweight denim I’ve had.
  5. I don’t mind the marbling really it’s the long vertical wash lines you get down random parts of the leg which look bad to me as it’s very clearly a washing mishap and not a naturally formed crease.
  6. I think it's supposed to reduce indigo loss, I do it out of habit. My two biggest learnings from first-washing many raw jeans over the years are: 1) Get the denim wet before you put it in the machine, I run a pair of jeans under the shower until they're wet through then put them in the machine. I don't know why this helps but it does. 2) If you wash the jeans inside out, let them dry fully inside out too before pulling them the right way out. Wrestling them the right way out when soaking wet seems to harshly fold/crease the denim which has led to weird wash lines for me.
  7. Not sure if you mean non-repro fabrics also but ONI 246 is a nice cut. I think they call it 'neat straight'. Available in some great denims too. The low-tension 22oz kabuki selvedge is an absolute treat.
  8. @MJF9 just accidentally clicked the negative button as I was so blown away by that denim!
  9. Drake’s over Tellason Drake’s over Samurai Nudie (yep) 17oz Trickers
  10. ONI 546 in 22oz with Kabuki selvedge. The last pair of heavy denim with contrast fades I had before moving towards lighter repro styles and looser fits in recent years. Truly a stunning denim. Probably a couple of years wear here and a few washes.
  11. Can anyone recommend flannel shirts with a similar weight to Iron Heart UHF? Ive got a couple of the UHF and love the fabric for its weight and warmth but never fully liked the fit or the fact the collar seems to spread and flatten out.
  12. Heimat Tellason Full Count Trickers
  13. Interesting, which Renapour product would you recommend? I must admit I don’t have much of a benchmark to judge the Saphir against as I typically just used shoe-brand treatments before.
  14. I’ve only used Saphir but I gave them a healthy amount of their Medaille d’Or Renovateur (macadamia oil) and then a brown Pate De Luxe. The colour match wasn’t perfect on the wax but I’ve got gear-shift stains on the top from motorcycle riding so as in the photo the toes are much darker than the rest of the boot. Buffing brought the shine out, I probably could’ve gone a bit further with it but I didn’t want a mirror gloss.
  15. Got my 8196 resoled after 5 years wear so treated them to a Japanese style Saphir scrub up. Pictures don’t really do it justice and I’m sure the shine will last approx 10 minutes but I don’t hate it.
